Sorry been MIA for a few days, just rush off my feet with work.
Welcome newbies.
For the people worried about moaning or reporting naught food diary's I am here for the good and the bad so go for it. Its good to know that others are not finding it easy it helps me when I am struggling.
4lb loss for me this week.
Over the moon, trying to think what I did differently and I changed up my healthy extra's more then usual and ate lots of melon.0 -
Here I am again, dipping in and out, life is seriously getting in the way of me concentrating on weightloss but it is getting crucial now that I am breaking through losing a stone and putting it back on.
I have been giving the opportunity of expanding my job, sort of a new career but it is more active, working with kids, more training and I am panicking inside because of my size. Sitting on the floor with the kids or even on the little chairs fills me with dread and renewing my first aid training and having to kneel on the floor to do resus was near impossible 3 years ago and now I have to do it again and I am still FAT. I really want this new career.
I need to stop faffing about and get serious about losing this weight. I know I would feel so much better etc so why do I keep sabotaging myself?
There are only 2 weeks left of before the kids come off and then 6 weeks school holidays so I have about 8 weeks to make a difference in my weight and feel more comfortable.
I have started swimming again this week, which I love although very self conscious how huge I am.
Take it one day at a time, right? Keeping goal in mind.
Off to read back and catch up.
That's exactly the attitude to be taking. One of the best ways of keeping on plan is to make sure that you have a menu for the day and strategies in place so you don't eat (or drink!) the wrong things. Things such as having a big bowl of salad or a big bowl of fruit salad in the fridge that you can snack on if you need something; or perhaps things like chicken legs (which skins removed), fishsticks, cooked meats, boiled eggs. That way if you feel the need to eat something you have things in the fridge that you can eat without feeling guilty or going off plan.
Keep going - one day at a time - and you will get there.
And now get that application completed and posted off.
Good luck.

Can I just check with you all Total 0% fat Greek yoghurt is free isn't it? Says so when I checked but I'm getting paranoid now as I've just discovered it and it's too nice to be free!!Have a good day all x
I can reassure you that Total 0% fat Greek yoghurt is definitely FREE!
When we have tasters at group there is always someone who brings in a big tub of it and some fruit to dip into it!
Change of plan for lunch as just realised I've got some potatoes leftover from last night to use up and don't want to waste them so have decided I'm having fried up potatoes, bacon, egg & mushrooms instead of the couscous. I'm making curry tonight so definitely not needed then, although I suppose I could have chopped them up and done some bombay potatoes! but to be honest I can't be bothered:rotfl:.

Well done! :beer:Here I am again, dipping in and out, life is seriously getting in the way of me concentrating on weightloss but it is getting crucial now that I am breaking through losing a stone and putting it back on.

I'm also a self saboteur, as I'd guess most of us in here are! I've struggled since my 1stone award and it's only the "one day at a time" mentality that's kept me from spiralling back to heavier than ever. You've got 8 weeks and you know you can make a big difference in that time, and it's not over then. You'll keep going and keep improving. Go for it :T
Tonight I'm going to try making the crispy pancakes from the latest magazine, the bf was very excited when he saw the recipe! Going to make a mince beef one and a cheese and bacon one as an experiment. Will see how that goes! Weigh in tonight, was ill at the tail end of last weekend only wanted "nice" food as I felt so sorry for myself so I've no idea what the result will beI have exercised every day apart from Friday though, so that should help.
Found out that I won this competition thing at work for my region with a 6 month project I did, and my prize is an overnight hotel trip with lunch, dinner, breakfast and another lunch! Not for a couple of weeks but I'm planning on being good until then so that it doesn't do too much damage
Well done to all of the losers, and everyone else just keep going :T0 -
Thanks Denise. Total 0% is my new found friend:)

I seem stuck at only losing 1lb or so a week and I know a loss is a loss , particularly since others are struggling, but I would love to be under the 14st mark as sonn as possible as that is my next target (i use smaller targets as i find it easier) and only have 3lbs to go but it just seems to be taking forever
I follow EE plan and can stick to it but have had no syns so far this week as it was birthday day out on Sat and although didnt go overboard did have nice things to eat.

Hi recently joined SW after deciding that I needed to do something drastic about losing weight! First WI was last week and I lost 4.5lbs! This may have been more, but it was my TOTM and I always retain lots of fluid. Hoping that tmrws WI is a good one!
Just a question - does anyone else's leader encourage you to lose more than the recommended 2 lbs per week? I know that we are there to lose weight, however, I have always been told that it is not healthy to lose much more than this a week. When people were asked if they had a target this week and it was 2 or 3 lbs, they were encouraged to up it to 4 or 5 lbs.Married the absolute love of my life on Sunday May 6th and I couldnt be happier!!!0 -

I made the crispy pancakes last week. I made up half the beef mix and half the pancake mix. They were quite tasty but there was far too much beef mixture to go in the pancakes! I also made bigger pancakes than it said in the magazine and there was still too much. I would think the mixture would probably be enough to make 8 filled pancakes the size stated.
I'll probably make them again some time but will probably make 4 and freeze 2 for later.

It really won't help you to lose weight if you don't have the syns - they are part of the plan and if you're not having them then you're not really following the SW plan. I know you said you were out Saturday but did you really have 105 syns (the amount you're allowed for the week) - I doubt it!
When I was getting to target I only ever lost 0.5 or lb a week; and in some ways I think it's probably better losing at that rate as you're less likely to put it back on. I've been at target now for about 3 years and have only gone out of target a couple of times after holidays in that time but only by a pound which I then pull back the week after so still don't have to pay:T.Hi recently joined SW after deciding that I needed to do something drastic about losing weight! My Consultant does sometimes encourage people to go for more than they say they want but not usually 4 or 5lbs! That's a lot to lose week in week out and I agree with you SW do recommend you lose up to 2lb a week. Usually my consultant says to people who just say "anything" whether they would be happy with just 0.5 or a lb, knowing full well that the person wouldn't be happy with that. I think the consultants get to know how the person is likely to react if they only get a small loss and then encourage them to say what they would "really" like to lose, IYKWIM!

FREE on Extra Easy and Original Plans
For the meatballs
3 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
450g/1lb extra lean minced pork
1tsp ground cumin
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Low calorie cooking spray
For the sauce
1 small onion, peeled and chopped
1 garlic clove, peeled and crushed
1 carrot, peeled and chopped
2 celery sticks, sliced
400g can chopped tomatoes
1. Place the garlic, mince, spices and seasoning in a bowl and, using your fingers, mix until combined. Season well. Cover and chill for an hour.
2. Meanwhile make the tomato sauce. Place all the ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to the boil. Cover and simmer gently for 25-30 mins stirring occasionally. Season well. Place in a blender and blitz until smooth.
3. Using your fingers, shape the mince mixture into balls. Spray a non stick frying pan with low cal spray and place over a medium heat. Add the meatballs and fry for 2-3 minutes or until browned.
4. Add the meatballs to the sauce and simmer gently for 8 - 10 minutes.
That's the one
I knew it didn't have much in the way of herbs and spices in as Top Boy is a wee fuss pot when it comes to stuff like that and he loved these last time.
Thanks again anyway Sugarpuss!
On plan 100% today so far

HEXB - Nothing yet, trying to avoid bread, maybe Alpen lights or benefit bars later
Syns - Options (2) and possibly a deli box of noodles (1.5)0
