    Hello :hello:

Only a few days in and already stumbling a bit :o I am currently partially breast feeding my son so I am having two HEX A and Hex Bs a day instead of the one.

Need to change my way of thinking as I am used to having cereal for breakfast and then bread with lunch so I will be exploring more varied options to tweak the carbs I am eating.

Just wondered if anyone had a rough ideas as the the syn value of a twinks hobnob?

They're not too bad as long as you don't eat too many - last time I made them I worked them out at about 2.5-3 syns each depending on size. You'll need to work them out exactly for yourself but adding up all the syns of everything used and then divided by the number of biscuits made.

Went to WI this morning and am really pleased that I only had a 0.5lb gain this week, which is amazing as I really lost the plot over the weekend and then had a day in France yesterday and syns from that came in at around 50:eek: just for the 3 course meal & wine (large glass).

Although I'm still just under my target weight I've decided to go all out and stick to SW better this week than last (or at least that's the plan!).

Today is going to be another EE day:

    B - banana after WI
L - 4 Original Ryvita (HEB) with some blue cheese (5 syns)
D - HM prawn curry & rice (from this month'g magazine but used spinach instead of sugar snap peas). May also make the salsa if I've got a red onion or a shallot I can use

Will also probably have a fruit split lolly for another 3 syns.

HEA will be milk in tea as usual.

I was thinking the same thing :rotfl:.

    Hi All

I have been busy in work today doing my snowball (the financial kind not the eating kind). I love it when its quiet & I can get work of my own done!

So EE Menu for me today :-

    B - Melon, Blueberries, pineapple
L - SW Quiche (HEA), salad, melon, pineapple, blueberries
D - Maggi Mexican Chicken, (1.5 syns) rice, veg on side
HEB of 2 alpen or hi-fi bars later on

So sorry for the delay, I meant to come back and answer this yesterday but forgot..

I cleaned it by firstly by scraping most of the thick gunge off with a wooden lollystick, the pan and the plastic top were put to soak in hot water with stardrops and washing soda and then used a plastic scourer, , the paddle was the worst bit and after scraping and washing as above it still had a lot of caked burnt on grease so I put it in a large bowl and used oven spray, which got a lot off and then scraped and washed again. The filter was black and gunged up so used the oven cleaner on that as well and then a metal scourer, and this came up better than I expected.

The idea for the chicken fried rice came from here

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUsBpJTGHV8

I used onion, mushrooms, celery, red pepper and homegrown bean sprouts, afterwards I thought I could have put some sweetcorn in as well, didn't use the soy sauce and seasoned with salt and pepper.

It was really nice and although I have made similar just using a frying pan I was really pleased that I didn't have to stand and keep stiring it.

Going to try this again just using smartprice stir fry veg and no rice.

Thanks meg72 for taking the time to reply. I will get some stardrops. I am going to make the chicken soon as I watched her making it and it looked lovely. I only do our chips in ours and want to try to do more. My friend at class does chicken in hers but I don't think you can do the chicken and the chips at the same time?
I know they are expensive but we could not live without out ours now and are taking it away with us in the caravan in a couple of weeks as we have chips with everything. My husband was not keen on having one and I had to nag to get one but he is the one that says that if it breaks down we will just go out and buy a new one. I know that you can buy some parts on Amazon. x

You are very welcome, I am time rich these days and love this thread to bits. everyone is so friendly and helpful. so like to do my bit when I can.

Mine was not expensive got it really cheap on ebay, £18.00 with postage but it was in a state as previously said, but there was no way I could have afforded a new one.

Having said that just have a look at this
    one

Oh how I wish, want it, never mind everyone needs a dream.

Re parts on Amazon they seem expensive, theres an actifry engineer on ebay who sells reconditioned parts and will repair them seemed quite reasonable, will try and find a link later.

Re cooking chicken and chips, as you say cant cook them together
but I think it might be possible to put chicken in first because it needs longer cooking and add chips for the last 10 mins or so. Will give this a go and let you know.

Have a lovely time in your caravan.
