    Great result Lush :T

I know it will be of little consolation to you Mrs_Ryan, but I had a sneeky wi at home and it shows quite a gain since Monday night wi and I have really stuck to plan with loads of sf. Decided to try and up my fluid intake to see if that makes any difference but I struggle with plain water and don't really care much for squashes. I tend to have one coffee at Mums in the morning and I am getting sick to death of tea.

Just had a Malteaser bunny (3.5 syns) as I NEEDED something sugary sweet (not diet sweet or fruit) - seems to have hit the spot for now.

I agree with the  at how expensive this can all be. Our shopping bills are up, but luckily the bf doesn't really take any interest in the money side and just leaves me to it!

Feeling pretty :A at this moment- the bf is taking his little boy back to his mum and traditionally I'd be breaking out the chocolate. But lo, I haven't and have just done a 40 minute ball workout instead! Now munching my heb hifi and looking forward to dinner.

Has anyone here got an Actifry? I am considering!

To be honest I find I can do SW quite frugally. I do most of my shop in Aldi and my SFs tend to be more veg than fruit. I know I'm in a better position than many as I have the time and facilities to cook from scratch and shop around a bit. Perhaps we could discuss it a bit more on here. If you're already paying £5 a week to go to a group then any savings we could suggest would be really helpful.

My menu today's been fairly cheap. Although I haven't costed it exactly I know I probably feed two of us for less than £50 a week (not including wine syns:o or meals out as that's in our 'entertainment' budget;)). I suppose we're all in different situations but what is the expectation of a reasonable amount to spend on food? How does it compare to when you were buying 'fat' food?

    Hi all.

    Another lovely day!

I think my shopping bill has increased since I started SW. I'm wasting less food than before, so I don't really understand why. :wall:

    Anyway -

    Saturday's Menu
    Breakfast: Bacon, egg & tomatoes
Lunch: roast pork hexb sandwich spread with mayo (1 syn)
Dinner: hm burger, mayo on roll (7 syns), SW chips, hm coleslaw
    Snacks: chocolate digestive (3 syns)

Total syns so far: 11, shocking. I had planned to have hm tomato & basil soup at lunch time, but we had a late morning visitor and by the time he left I was too hungry to start making it even though it doesn't take that long (especially after Monday's disaster) so that's why I used an extra 6 syns :(

Well, tomorrow is another day - and OH is out all day bowling so I should be ok until he gets home at tea time since I'm not a secret eater ;)

I have to say I do sometimes find sticking to plan quite expensive.
I do go to Aldi but our nearest is 18 miles away so have to weigh up energy used & petrol against savings.
Locally we only have a sainsbobs & they can be expensive.
I tend to buy more fruit than veg.
It had always would me up that to eat healthily is more expensive.

On the good side I have been 100% today.

Hey my little frogga I hope all is well in your world & you too Mildredd xx

Our shopping bill has almost doubled :( before we used to just buy ready meals and chicken kievs. I used to take things like pot noodles to work and I would have whatever was on offer. I suppose if we could cook things from scratch or OH would entertain Aldi it might be cheaper! Still I suppose one thing is that it's worked :)

Good evening everyone. I have just sat down with a cup of tea and am going to catch up on the last few weeks worth of posts.

I have had a few wobbles over the last couple of weeks and haven't logged on because I didn't want to admit to what I had been scoffing! I put on 2lb last week. This week has been a little better and I lost 2lb, so it is a sts overall.

I did have a bit of a break through last night. I was out with friends for drinks and food and managed to stay within my syns. I realised that if I can do it on a night out, then there is no excuse the rest of the time, so I am feeling much more positive and am back on plan. I have the fakeaway book on order, which I can't wait to get hold of.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

I find if I meal plan and cook from scratch, it's not too bad.

Example - work dinners for the week are generally salads

    Asda

    Lettuce 50p
    Cucumber 50p x 2
    Tomatoes - 75p
    Peppers - 99p
Gherkins 1 pound for 2 weeks so 50p
Beetroot 1 pound for 2 weeks so 50p
Pickled onions 1 pound for 2 weeks so 50p

    4.74 for a week

    Say it's tuna pasta salad:

I only buy tinned tuna for 4 pounds per 4 pack or less, pasta at 50p an asda bag/8 and their extra light mayo at 1 pound a tube/8

One tin of tuna does me 2 days so -

    50p tuna

    4.74/5 salad - 95p

    6p pasta

    12p mayo

1.63 for a SW friendly dinner.

I mix it up with ham and boiled egg, SW quiche or leftovers from teas but my work dinner never costs more than two quid.

A decent sandwich is more than that.
