I didn't put in a make I just put in tinned mackerel as I'd remembed from way back that our consultant had said that mackerel was the only fish not to be syn free!

Judging by other replies it seems this has now changed! But having said that I don't actually eat it!

    Sorry to have misled everyone.

No worries, I know you were only trying to save me from a synning disaster, I appreciate it.

I ended up making the chicken korma with vegetable rice - don't bother pilau-ing it as I am not a fan - tonight, not quite as nice with a diet lemonade instead of a beer but I have sworn to have a month off alcohol, hoping to see some results by the end of June

    Evening all,

Just read back over the thread, having been awol for 3 days again.

Glad to hear about the losses coming in, so many of you doing well right now, so well done!

To those with STS or a small gain, I'm with you on that one, and barely hanging onto the wagon with my fingertips some days :/ Really got to get myself in order, and keep on track for more than a day or so. I seem to do well, and then let myself down again.

Today hasn't been a disaster, but it's not been great either.

    Extra Easy Day:

    B - Mullerlight, banana, apple
L - WM toast + (4), flora light (2), Jam (2). Apple, banana with some double cream (3.5)
D - HM lasagne using extra lean beef & meatfree soya mince, peppers, mushrooms, onions, celery, carrots, courgettes, tomatoes, half a jar of light pasta sauce (1), white sauce: milk from HeA, LF cheese (3), flour (1), butter (1). I had it with a mixed salad: lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, spring onions, pickled onions, salad cream (1)

Snacks - rich tea biscuits (4), jelly sweets (3)
HeA - milk in teas & sauce
    HeB - WM bread
    Total syns = 23.5

A fine example of how not to do SW!

Tomorrow HAS to be better, really it does. I have 2 days to try to do some damage limitation. Days seem to start well, and then go awry, so will look at having some low syn days to compensate. There's plenty of lasagne left over, so will be having that for dinner tomorrow too.

Hope the rest of you are doing better than me. Have a great weekend.

Ooh, just remembered, I'm up for a facebook group, just give me details and I'll join in. I read some of the other ones on FB, but don't join in - it's all too nasty, with too many little Hitlers waiting to jump on someone for asking a simple question. Think they need their hormones checking, their bumps feeling, or just need to sort out the rest of their lives before they go posting on there, and taking out frustrations on the innocent. *steps off soap box* ;)
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Talking of tinned mackerel does anyone know where I can find these please Princes, Mackeral Fillets in Indian Sauce, canned . (125g can)
they are apparently syn free on EE and Red.

I get mine in Mr T. you have to make sure that you get the limited edition one as there is a similar one which has syns. It says on the front indian style curry sauce with mango puree It is yum, I like it on top of a plate of chopped salad or it is nice on toast.

There's something fishy going on with mackerel!;) My (admittedly old) book says smoked mackerel isn't free but strangely enough Aldi peppered smoked mackerel is (but 3.5 from Sainsbury's)! That's not tinned, just chilled. The Princes Indian mackerel that meg was asking about is also free as are varieties in brine. The mustard sauce one is only half a syn and there's one in sunflower oil for just one syn. I do enjoy it and it's good to get some oily fish on the menu so I'll be buying some.

topgirl, have you got a recipe for the pate?

That looks Green to me. So where's your extra HEXs?;)

    I most certainly have :)

1 pack of Aldi mackerel, skin removed
    1 level tbsp horseradish sauce
    Juice of one lemon
2-3 tbsp fat free fromage frais
    2-3 chopped spring onions

Blend and voila :D add salt and pepper to taste

    Morning :j

    Congratulations durham mim.

Well, today might be a blip

B - Mushroom, pepper and onion omelette

    D/T - Family barbecue

I'm taking diet coke with me as I will have Top Boy with me and am doing a month off alcohol anyway and will remove any obvious fat/skin from meat but that is as SW as I am prepared to be I'm afraid. We only usually have 1/2 of these a year so I'm counting it as a spring/summer Christmas :D

    Enjoy your Saturdays

Good morning everyone :) I can't do any proper quoting on my iPad, deleting the rest of the posts always goes wrong so I'll leave that until I'm on my mac.

Just wondering how the other confessed secret eaters are going? I'm mostly doing really well with it. There has been a lot of temptation and I'm a bit stressed at the minute which usually sends me straight to the chocolate, but I'm avoiding so far :)

On a rare Saturday off work today, I'll be loungi, playing Mario Kart with the bf and a bit of studying. Got a braising steak chilli working away in the slow cooker for dinner, one of our favourites :)

    Yesterday:

No breakfast, felt a bit rough.
Huge fruit salad with a cappuccino muller light for lunch
Baby bel and skimmed milk HEA, chocolate orange hifi HEB.
Dinner was HM pork loin schnitzel. Trimmed the fat off mine and synned the breadcrumbs at 4.5, although I only ate two of the three. I haven't had these whilst doing SW before so they're usually double crumbed and fried in oil, but I have to say my adapted ones were still very tasty :)
Had with crispy potato paprika slices and veg.

Hope we all have a lovely, successful weekend :)

Yemma - agree with you there are some good recipes in this month's magazine. I'll be using a few of them in this month's menu plans!

    Today will be EE again:

    B - SW fry up
L - ham salad sandwich with LTL mayo instead of spread
D - HM chicken tagine with couscous

HEA - milk in tea throughout the day
    HEB - bread

Syns: 0.5 for mayo; so far. Not sure what else yet.
