I don't know the Indian mackerel meg but Farmfoods and Iceland often sell Princes stuff. if I see any around I'll let you know.

According to mysupermarket, they sell it in Asda, Sainsbury's and Tesco and it's on offer at £1 a tin in Asda (1.40 everywhere else). And it's free!!!

I can see Aldi peppered mackerel fillets are free but plain are 1 syn for 100g. How odd is that???

That's the stuff, the peppered one :j

    Thanks Maman.

I think it's really tasty, works out at one syn for a whole batch, for the horseradish sauce, and usually lasts me a couple of das so I take the syn hit on the first day, I'm a banker so it comes off my 105

I think it is to do with which plan you're following. I'm assuming you're having a go at EE (as you only have one each of HEX A and B).

Bacon, baked beans and chicken are all free on EE but they wouldn't be if you were doing Red (original) or Green. So for EE you can ignore the colours as they're all free.

If you chose to do Red (original) then you could have as much chicken and bacon as you liked but couldn't have the baked beans and the reverse is true for baked beans (as much as you like on Green but no meat).

When I say you can't have meat on Green or beans on Red I mean syn free. They'd have to be measured and synned or used as a HEX.

Fruit and eggs are orange: they're free on all three plans.

Healthy Extras vary depending on which plan you're doing.

Is it starting to make a bit of sense?

Just keep asking and I'm sure we'll get it sorted.:)

Basic melba toast seems to be half a syn each. If you can give us a brand we can be more precise.

    Good morning all
I have just joined sw, so today is my 2 nd day on the plan. I have read the books and obviously found you on here.. I'm desperate to do well this time as I have so much to loose. I have lost count of how many times I have lost the same 5 stone
I have been successful with slimming world before many years ago but am intrigued with this extra easy plan, can we really mix potatoes with protein:eek:and do you really loose weight doing it?
Another quick question does anyone fill a diary in on the app?
What do the different colours mean when you enter your food?
Tia for any help you can throw my way:D

Welcome never too old :hello:. I had a job getting my head around mixing the red and green stuff at first. I also did SW many years ago when it was only red and green but I really love EE. Been doing it for 6 weeks and have lost 19lbs so far. I am managing quite well with one HEXA and one HEXB but some people might find they need extra HEXs depending on their circumstances. Some people constantly swap between the three days. Good luck.

It's Aldi smoked mackerel which I was told was free according to a group leader, has this changed?
I didn't put in a make I just put in tinned mackerel as I'd remembed from way back that our consultant had said that mackerel was the only fish not to be syn free!

Judging by other replies it seems this has now changed! But having said that I don't actually eat it!

    Sorry to have misled everyone.

There's something fishy going on with mackerel!;) My (admittedly old) book says smoked mackerel isn't free but strangely enough Aldi peppered smoked mackerel is (but 3.5 from Sainsbury's)! That's not tinned, just chilled. The Princes Indian mackerel that meg was asking about is also free as are varieties in brine. The mustard sauce one is only half a syn and there's one in sunflower oil for just one syn. I do enjoy it and it's good to get some oily fish on the menu so I'll be buying some.

topgirl, have you got a recipe for the pate?

That looks Green to me. So where's your extra HEXs?;)
