Just done my boiled eggs for tomorrow's lunch: bring water to boil, turn down to simmer for 2 minutes; turn heat off and leave for 20 minutes; then drain, crack shells and place in cold water for 10 minutes. Perfect hard boiled eggs with no blue ring round the yolk. Slice or mash for sandwiches or leave whole to eat later.

Not sure if anyone else has seen but in the newest ASDA magazine there's a small bit that reads:
"Due to new laws, lean beef, pork and lamb mince will be called 'reduced fat', while extra lean mince will now simply be 'lean'"

perhaps worth noting for anyone that buys mince (the mention of laws seems to suggest it's not just in ASDA) :)

Thanks for that lush. I generally work on the %age fat that's generally to be found somewhere on the labelling rather than whether it's described as lean or steak mince or whatever. I wonder if that will still appear. And how will it be listed on SW as they work on less than 5% is free at the moment and then various syns above that %age.

Hi all. Well done losers, keep going if you're going through a sticky patch.

Well, maman, I think I needed all those syns I had left over.
I was away early for a spa and massage that DS had got me for my birthday. I got lost going and loster coming home, by which time I was ready to eat a scabby dug (I didn't; I couldn't find one, lol!)

    So, here's Monday's damage.

Breakfast: hexb weetabix, some hexa milk, raspberries and blueberries.
Lunch (in lieu of scabby dug): 2 Werthers original I found in the car, wholemeal roll, salad, tomatoes, roast pork, empire biscuit, slice of wholemeal toast with butter and cheese, rest of the bit of cheese, a Gold bar
Dinner: tomato & mixed pepper pasta

I've come to the conclusion that if I get hungry and a bit weak feeling like today, once I start to eat, I can't stop until I have my next proper meal. I considered eating in the spa cafe before I left, but thought, "No, I have my lunch planned and I'll be home in half an hour; I can wait." How wrong I was - the journey that should have taken half an hour took over an hour.

Oh well, WI tomorrow morning; hope I've not wrecked my chances :(

  • We were told in group last week about the changes to mince packaging, and that 'lean' will be free in future, with a reminder that as long as it's less than 5% fat it's free whatever it's called!

Haven't posted my menu for ages but been sticking to the plan. Green Day today.

    B - 35g Branflakes (HEB1), chopped banana and S.S. Milk (HEA1).

    Snack - 2 x 70cal Alpenlight bars (HEB2)

L - Riso Gallo Mushroom risotto (dried, made with water) with added onions, mushrooms, peppers, peas and sweetcorn. 1oz parmesan (HEA2). Jaffa cake (2.5syns).

D - Sweet & Sour (diet fanta) quorn & veggies, with rice and noodles.
Half syn roulade (which I ate half of so quarter of a syn!), made with blueberries, strawberries and raspberries.

Some great losses today. So in true SW fashion :T:T:T
I had to google 'scabby dug' tiger, but I think they may be syn free if all visible fat is removed.;)

I'm feeling quite bloated, particularly around my thighs.:( Like I've said I don't own any 'fat' clothes any more and don't weigh at home so rely on clothes to know how I'm doing and so thin clothes aren't forgiving. I think it's probably the YS chocolate marzipan that's tipped it. Will be desperately trying to claw back in the next couple of days.

I do try to buy 5% mince but it can be really expensive so I often buy 8% or 10%, drain off as much fat as I can and hope for the best.:)

Good to see you posting tie. Hope you et a good rest over half term.:)
