Sadly I ate a whole bar of chocolate too.:o It was chocolate marzipan YS in Aldi. I knew I was doing the wrong thing when I bought it.

I just want to agree that I don't think anyone moans on here. What's great about this group is that we're not stuck to a formula or a script like SW groups so if anyone wants to talk about what's difficult for them then we listen and offer support and advice.

MrsR, I don't agree with your friend. If you want to get to your target or even below that then you can and, knowing how determined you can be, you will!! I took weeks and weeks to lose my last few pounds to target but like the lovely beanie says, keep plodding!

becks, I think losing weight with SW is all about healthy eating and exercise can be an added bonus in toning and fitness but not essential. If you're not eating much and not having many syns then that may be part of the problem. It's something to do with a theory that the body doesn't know when it's next meal is coming so hangs on to fat. If you've got time then post some menus.

After I posted earlier I remembered that I also love pickled red cabbage but only seem to remember about it at Christmas. And beware if you're buying the jars of peppers in Aldi. They have them in brine and in oil. Do check to get the syn free ones.

Talking of red cabbage, I made an enormous pot of braised red cabbage with apple and onions today, syn free to an adapted Delia recipe. It's cooling now and tomorrow I'll portion it up for the freezer.

Would love your recipe please Maman

Its a STS this week, bit disappointed but at least its not a gain. I'm going through the menopause and for the last two weeks there have been signs that * is due. I went 10 months without one and now there's two in 2/3 months. I'm hoping once it arrives I will lose quite a bit of weight. Had wanted to lose about half a stone by end of next month as I've an award presentation to attend and in July a graduation. However June and July are filled with birthday's, anniversaries & holidays so lots of eating out.

    EE again today

B: All bran, cherries & mullerlite yoghurt
    L: Noodles. Fruit
D: Chicken curry, rice, prawn & vegetable bhaji. Fruit.

Treat: either a Freddo or 4 squares of dark chocolate.

Well the stomach bug is back :(

Eating whatever I fancy, no superfree, just anything I can keep down, so not looking forward to WI Mon.

Good luck to all resisting temptation this weekend.

    Can I join ladies please?

Joined my local group a few weeks ago, had 2 weigh ins so far, -4.5lbs and -3lbs. Not got a huge amount to lose, but it definitely needs to go. 1st 1lb to target but think that's going to be harder than it sounds!

Planned a few hours of shovelling gravel for landscaping our garden today buts it currently throwing it down :-(
Will probably go to a local dance class later instead and I've got some flat pack stuff to build at home, all adds up to some good Body magic I think!

Anyway, I don't tend to plan meals that well, just have what I fancy out of my stock of free and superfree foods.

All my days are EE at the moment and have started today with a banana and a cup of tea, my syns tend to be inane things like real sugar in my tea and butter on jacket potatoes, although I had a chocolate finger yesterday at 1.5 syns.

    Have a good day everyone!

There making Alpen lights back to the old recipe so they fit the hexb requirements - probably saw a hit in sales lol x
So Alpen lights will be back on the list soon ;)

Brilliant.. I wonder what happened to the fellas that suggested changing the recipe :rotfl: I wonder if they had to do a walk of shame in the factory, lesson learnt for them I think!

Hopefully they'll put a few good deals on when they come back on the market..

It's this one meg. I substitute 3 tbsps of sweetener for the brown sugar and a couple of eating apples instead of cookers (but would use cookers later in the year). Reading it through I realise I forgot the cinnamon but no worries as it tastes fine. I used lazy garlic too. The butter isn't essential but I do sometimes put a few blobs of spread on the top. I'll make loads of portions (will count later) so I ignore any syns from the spread or cooking two apples! I prefer this recipe as it's fine in the oven so saves watching it on the hob. It would probably work in a slow cooker.

Welcome lisa.:) I'd suggest you keep going as you are and then if your weightloss stalls start looking at planning a bit more carefully.

    My EE plan for today:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB porage, HEA milk
L: LO chicken casserole (full of veg but no chicken:D)
    D: Szechuan beef with noodles
Syns: squirt of syrup, IIRC there's a bit of cornflour in the beef recipe and as it's Saturday we'll probably have a couple of spring rolls with supper. Plus weekend wine syns of course.

So heavy on syns today but I do eat virtually syn free all week.

Does anyone eat melba toast? I noticed that they're just half a syn each. Might be a low syn alternative to crackers or something to munch with soup.

Ok back to planning - although yesterday I was good and can't have gone over syns based on what I had...not enough SF though. None with lunch and only little snacks then a biiig salad for tea.

    Today:
B: cereal (HeB) with SS milk ( from HeA)
S: fruit even if i have to make myself
L: I'm thinking a mushroom and ham omlette
T: a pasta dish so synned - will find the syn values of the Dolmio stuff i have bought shortly but I'm expecting my portion to be around 5-7 plus maybe a piece of garlic bread at 4.5
    Before bed: mullerlight

Drinks; tea (milk from HeA), NAS squash

Bf has taken his youngest brother to the gym, I am doing the laundry from his trip and about to straighten the house again!

I portioned up red cabbage and got 10 from it. That's not huge portions just a generous heaped serving spoon to use as an extra veg. 8 have gone in the freezer and 2 in the fridge to go with roast tomorrow.

I used one average sized cabbage from Aldi, 2 red onions (but have used normal onions before) and 2 wrinkly eating apples. If you followed Delia's quantities you'd probably get more.

Mrs R, I assume you mean something like the Uncle Ben microwave rice, but I might have misread it. It's so easy to do normal rice in the microwave though. I throw some in a bowl (maybe about a cupful - if there's too much, it can go towards the next day) and add twice as much water, then 10 mins in the microwave. If it's not cooked to your taste, a splash more water and another couple of mins.

If you use easy cook rice, there's no need to rinse it. If you use brown rice, it takes a bit longer.

Thanks judy :) I'm going to get a small bag of easy cook when I go to Mr T's today. :)
