For those who don't like much veg but will eat pickles: mostly I have beetroot and Sainsbury's pickled shallots in spicy vinegar (much nicer than silverskins IMO). Then I tried Aldi peppers in brine (jar of antipasti) and liked them. Today I've had Lidl cornichons and found them really good. generally I buy my cornichons in France but these are much sweeter and nuttier. I chop them finely to put in burgers too.

Maman, I get through a jar of those cornichons a week! I find them really tasty and they bulk out salads really well. Love picked onions too but will try S'bugs shallots for a change. Thanks for the tip x

    Morning all
Feeling more than a bit disillusioned today :( despite sticking rigidly to plan all this week and pushing myself so hard with the body magic that I'm in agony today  my scales still defiantly tell me that I have put on three pounds. And those three pounds ain't budging. I really can't understand how? I've done my best to move things around- my mate reckons it's my body telling me it's had enough, it's gone as far as it's going and maybe I should call target- 5.5lbs off my target!! really don't know what I can do- there's only so much stuff I can do in the microwave and I can't up my superfree either as can't afford to :( I thought about cutting out rice, pasta, potatoes and cereal (I don't eat bread) but if I did that I would end up starving myself as that's the mainstay of my diet!! Anyone any suggestions?!

Have you tried switching your pasta and rice to the wholewheat type (brown). It's healthier anyway and might just make a difference. Other than that, the only thing I can think of is that you're maybe not drinking enough for all the exercise you're doing :)
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

3 rd week of slimming world.
Lost 3 pound first week, 2.5 the 2nd week
    Last night - gained - 1LB ON

Really disappointed as hadn't been bad this week

Determined to lose this next week

Well done on all the losses x

I have heard so many times that the third week is often the worst weight loss.

Something to do with your brain/body cottoning on to what you're trying to do and putting up resistance perhaps :D

Or you could always have couscous, quinoa or bulghar wheat instead of the pasta.

Cous cous takes minutes to do and you only have to pour boiling water on it, so no need to microwave..:D

All of these really help up the SF but also pep up the cold meats and fried LO veg that I often have for lunch.

I love pickles, I get mine in the big jars from poundland, my very very favourite is the mixed veg pickle, its got gerkins, cauliflower, carrots and red and green peppers in a 950 gram jars so a good few servings for the money.

Also found bargain apples today in Iceland, bag of 21 for £2 so only 10p for an apple. They are a fair size and very crisp and sweet, Not sure of the variety as the pack just says Ariane France, but thry are very nice remind me a bit of Pink Lady, though I don't buy them unless I can get reduced, too deat.

Someone in class was saying something similar this week, as she only has 3lbs to go to target but it just isn't shifting. Our Consultant suggested reducing syns to just 5 per day Xx

    Evening all.

So much to catch up on, I have only skimmed through the last few pages.

Well done to all those sticking to plan, and losing weight. Welcome to any newbies!

I don't really know where I am at the moment, am feeling a tad lost. I lost 1.5lb last week and another 1lb last night, but this still doesn't make up for my gain of 5lbs for the 2 weeks before.

I'm still exercising which is where I am feeling all up in the air at the moment. I'm still following slimming world, but am not really having many syns or eating too much. With my exercising I don't need to. This is where I think sw is failing me. The exercise is changing my body shape I have no doubt about that, my fitness levels are the best they have been for year. I'm just not being as successful as I hoped with the weight loss. I'm feeling miffed about paying my money each week and not seeing the results I think I deserve.

Anyway enough of my moaning! Its nice to see everyone doing well, I know sw does work so please don't think I'm being all anti-sw, I just don't believe it works so well with exercise!!!

I hope everyone enjoys the bank holiday weekend.

Just popping in with a quick question. Someone (sorry I forgot who it was now) mentioned making Chicken Korma using Muller Coconut and Vanilla. I thought this was a Coconut and Vanilla Yogurt (1 pot) but could only find Coconut with Lime then a Vanilla pot. Just thought I would check as DH is popping into Mr A's whilst I'm in drs this afternoon and I will be giving him a shopping list :D. Thanks for your help.

Will be back later to catch up with you all

I have used aldi coconut and vanilla and then muller light coconut with a hint of lime. I much prefer the muller light one.

I to have been diddling myself out of extra healthy extras by doing green days but not realising I was. Now having at least 1 green day a week. Not tried a red day yet.

I bought some fredos yesterday and had one. Lovely but I have realised I really need to be careful with chocolate as once I had the taste of it its all I wanted all day. Strange as curly wurlys do not do this.

Breakfast - bran flakes, skimmed milk, banana
Lunch - beef slices, mug shot, baby bell light, apple
Tea - birds eye fusion fish, super rice with extra veg, beatroot, apple

Snacks - nectarine, shape 0 fat yoghurt, hard boiled egg.

    hea - skimmed milk
    heb - bran flakes

SYNS - birds eye fusion fish 0.5, baby bell light 2, mikados 8 - TOTAL 10.5.

Hi consultant, thanks for your suggestions :) not possible unfortunately- i use cheap pasta which is 95p for 1kg and I use that all in the week. The same in Wholewheat is £2 which is too expensive :( I have the microwave rice as I can't cook normal rice :( I drink loads- all NAS cordial. I hate plain water but if I thought it would make a difference I would cut my cordial back to one glass per day! Shala- I do have couscous sometimes, I have flavoured couscous from Aldi :) I've just binged and I'm so annoyed at myself!! I had beans on toast and ate half a big bag of crisps, chocolate buttons and mini cupcakes  I haven't felt too good today so I'm just trying to make myself feel better!
Thanks everyone so much. I'm really sorry if I seem like I'm constantly complaining, pain makes me very grumpy and I unwittingly take it out on everyone. I really appreciate all your help and suggestions. :) xxx
