Thanks for such as warm welcome everyone! I will take a look at the updated B list thanks for posting it - I found just one thing that I can have.....OIL (which I don't use anyway - Frylite convert!). Might try some of the fruit in small doses and see how I get on!

Hi shala_moo - fancy seeing you here, hope that MFW is going well, we are finally underway with overpayments, love putting my numbers in the spreadsheet, such a MFW geek now!! :D

I have stuck to the plan this week, so proud of myself and have got my "good" head on which I haven't had for years. Had to use my syns for white bread the last two days as I prefer to take sandwiches to work but amazingly I didn't just think "oh its ok I can have a kit kat as well" like I usually do. Hubby had a box of chocolates the other night and I didn't have one, seriously can't remember the last time I had this much restraint...I'll make the most of it while its here!

I said a stone by Christmas as my goal (trying to be realistic) but would love half a stone off by my hols at the beginning of July - lots of parties between now and then though so I'll just try my best.

Mrs R~~ I don't think that you are moaning.
Just saying it as it is.
It is sometimes difficult for people who don't have physical problems/chronic pain to take on board that life can be quite tough sometimes.
But that is the reality of our lives.
I know what you mean though, I sometimes feel like a real moaning Minnie.
Did I mention I fell off my trike the other day & I have grumped about it ever since.
My weight loss is totally stuck but hey ho no one to blame but me.
The worse my pain & falling & mobility is the more that I want to eat crap.
I ate a whole bar of chocolate today as someone sent it through the post to cheer me up.
So, really I'm saying you are not moaning.
    Keep plodding xx

I saw that! Reading between the lines I think it's down to the massive outcry from SW members. Slimming World power! :)

I think I now have a better understanding of pain and know its a living hell - any one has the right to moan and grumble - god knows I've grumbled and moaned enough the last few months?!

    Hi all.

Well done losers. Keep trying if you're struggling.

No one moans on here - you are just comfortable enough to let your guard down so that others are aware of how you're really feeling. It's good to be able to do that.

Well I started out well today and, about an hour a go, for no reason, I just went pffft and gave up! I wasn't even hungry, or alone, nor was OH eating!

    Friday's menu

Breakfast: hexb toast & jam (1 syn)
Lunch: smoked salmon omelette with mushrooms & tomatoes, ML vanilla & dark choc sprinkle yogurt.
Dinner: leftover hm chicken soup (forgot to take anything out of the freezer last night, oops!), cherries
Snacks: 1 Werthers original (1 syn) then, big scoop vanilla ice cream (4 syns) in an oyster (4 syns) , Jacobs mint club (6 syns)
I'll have hexa mini babybels and grapes for supper (what a cheek)

    Total: 18 syns
Syns Bank: 63 syns (3 days)

    Night all.

Hi consultant, thanks for your suggestions :) not possible unfortunately- i use cheap pasta which is 95p for 1kg and I use that all in the week. The same in Wholewheat is £2 which is too expensive :( I have the microwave rice as I can't cook normal rice :( I drink loads- all NAS cordial. I hate plain water but if I thought it would make a difference I would cut my cordial back to one glass per day! Shala- I do have couscous sometimes, I have flavoured couscous from Aldi :) I've just binged and I'm so annoyed at myself!! I had beans on toast and ate half a big bag of crisps, chocolate buttons and mini cupcakes  I haven't felt too good today so I'm just trying to make myself feel better!
Thanks everyone so much. I'm really sorry if I seem like I'm constantly complaining, pain makes me very grumpy and I unwittingly take it out on everyone. I really appreciate all your help and suggestions. :) xxx

Hi Mrs Ryan, I am the same, very bad tempered and grumpy, my poor husband gets it all, and hasn't done anything wrong. Pain makes you feel rotten, I wish I could have a pain free day. I'm sure if I get this extra weight off I wouldn't get as much pain.
Hope you feel a little better and try and keep off those chockies and stuff !!!

Sadly I ate a whole bar of chocolate too.:o It was chocolate marzipan YS in Aldi. I knew I was doing the wrong thing when I bought it.

I just want to agree that I don't think anyone moans on here. What's great about this group is that we're not stuck to a formula or a script like SW groups so if anyone wants to talk about what's difficult for them then we listen and offer support and advice.

MrsR, I don't agree with your friend. If you want to get to your target or even below that then you can and, knowing how determined you can be, you will!! I took weeks and weeks to lose my last few pounds to target but like the lovely beanie says, keep plodding!

becks, I think losing weight with SW is all about healthy eating and exercise can be an added bonus in toning and fitness but not essential. If you're not eating much and not having many syns then that may be part of the problem. It's something to do with a theory that the body doesn't know when it's next meal is coming so hangs on to fat. If you've got time then post some menus.

I love pickles, I get mine in the big jars from poundland, my very very favourite is the mixed veg pickle, its got gerkins, cauliflower, carrots and red and green peppers in a 950 gram jars so a good few servings for the money.

After I posted earlier I remembered that I also love pickled red cabbage but only seem to remember about it at Christmas. And beware if you're buying the jars of peppers in Aldi. They have them in brine and in oil. Do check to get the syn free ones.

Talking of red cabbage, I made an enormous pot of braised red cabbage with apple and onions today, syn free to an adapted Delia recipe. It's cooling now and tomorrow I'll portion it up for the freezer.

Mrs R, I assume you mean something like the Uncle Ben microwave rice, but I might have misread it. It's so easy to do normal rice in the microwave though. I throw some in a bowl (maybe about a cupful - if there's too much, it can go towards the next day) and add twice as much water, then 10 mins in the microwave. If it's not cooked to your taste, a splash more water and another couple of mins.

If you use easy cook rice, there's no need to rinse it. If you use brown rice, it takes a bit longer.
