    Hi all
Some good suggestions thank you :) I cook my pasta in the microwave. I just fill a Pyrex bowl with water, put the pasta in and cook for 12 minutes or so. It comes out fine :) we have a microwave with grill so we can use either or. We have a teppanyaki grill and a steamer but very limited space :( my friend swears by her George Foreman- mum has an Actifry which I would love but again it's lack of space :(
Come to think of it we did get a voucher for £3.54- I'm presuming that the £3 comes from the Mullerlights alone.
We have a Mr M within driving distance but OH says it's too expensive :( our nearest Mr A and Mr S are miles away although we do occasionally go to Mr S.
I eat a lot of Quorn products which I do find quite expensive- I try to use the Everyday Value options when I can, I have the Value ham, eggs, beans, tuna, frozen fruit salad smoked salmon slices, pasta and mushy peas. My downfalls though are my fruit, Mullerlights, Laughing Cows (I go through a lot of them as I don't drink a great deal of milk and am allergic to 'real' cheese) Ribena and Quorn. I only buy cereal, coffee and Ryvita once every couple of months.
    Here's today's menu:
Brunch: HEXB Ryvita Cracked Black Pepper with HEXA Laughing Cow Light Blue Cheese and bacon with fat removed, 2 bananas, cup of tea with remainder of HEXA
T: 2 peppered Quorn steaks, chicken leg piece with Chicken Tonight (3 syns) Aunt Bessie's Homestyle Roasties (2.5 syns) steamed mixed veg, Mullerlight
Snack:Going to cinema tonight. 2 Alpen Light Cherry Bakewell bars (6 syns) Diet Coke, 2 apples
    Supper: Scrambled eggs and beans
    Syns: 11.5
Still not able to do any BM as weather still lousy :( Going for a meal tomorrow night with a friend I haven't seen in ages- going after WI so I can be a bit naughty without worrying unduly ;)
    Hope everyone's ok x

Do you have a slow cooker love? they are not expensive and don't take up much space but a cheap cut of meat and a value pack of veg gives a really nice meal.

I used to think like your Oh that morrisons was expensive, and it would be if you were to get everything you need from there, but today I popped in as desperate for the loo and its the only one in the area I was in that had a public loo, was really impressed with
oranges 7 in a pack, 3 for £1,50, vine tomatoes, 3 for £1.50 (12 or 14 tomatoes in a pack, carrot 1kg 3 for 1.50 and then I found the reduced section, most things half price and it was only 12-clock, normally have to try and get to Asda late afternoon for 50% off, anyway got 2 packs of 4 chicken breasts for £4.00 and a 1,5 kg. of cod loin for £5.00,, lots of cheap meals for next month.

Ended up going to the shop looking for HeB inspiration... didn't find any but picked up some low fat natural yogurt (1syn per 100g) and low fat natural cottage cheese(free - woop) so will use teh scan bran in my cupboard at last :)

Talking of scan bran - had a go at making a Scan Bran Chocolate Cake yesterday. Texture and appearance looked good but I don't think the taste was anything I would want to repeat. For 3.5 syns per portion I could find something much more enjoyable.

Here's hoping we all have a good week.

I joined SW yesterday I have been counting calories, I am really worried that I am going to put on weight with all this free food. Did anyone gain on their first weight in? I need to lose every week to keep me going, when I'm good I'm very good and stick to it to the letter, but don't want to gain

Great news on the trousers bookworm.
Talking of trousers can anyone help?
I am looking for fairly reasonably priced slightly strechy smartish trousers?
Also I am looking for a red cardigan to go with a frock.
    Thanks in advance.

I've never known anyone see a gain after the first week, I'm sure my old consultant gave some sort of guarantee on losses in the first few weeks :S

loving finding my feet back with SW already can't wait to weigh in on Tuesday even though I will have only done half a week :)

Still to have today: scan bran with free cottage cheese, a little more milk from my HeA and a little choc as a treat :)

One thing I have definitely noticed it I am conscious to drink more when on plan. I have a tendency to 'forget' to hydrate normally - more so since giving birth as during my pregnancy I made myself up my fluid intake considerably

  • thanks everybody :)

beanielou - try Marks and Spencers basic collection. I got a lovely pair from there at Christmas, they are bootleg ones - nice thick material and slightly stretchy waist with buttons. Only £18.50 normal price. xx

Hi chipsdog, welcome to the boards. Post your menu's up each day if you want to double check them.. I guess you're following extra easy so just make sure you stick to the 1/3rd superfree rule.. That should limit your portion of other food naturally.

SW do say unlimited free foods, but you should only be eating enough to satisfy your hungry rather than leaving the table fully stuffed..

    Good luck x
