And it doesn't end there. Tonight I'm off for an Indian with my boys. DS1 is home on a flying visit before he sits his finals and DS2 has his last exam this afternoon. April was the third anniversary of their dad passing away so a wee night out with happy memories.

I was planning on having chicken tikka with boiled rice and salad. Leave sauce and naan bread, pakora etc alone. Is this the best option?

Only saw a few posts but at our group we are all told to have 10 syns a day, no matter how much weight you've to lose x

This is an extract from the Indian eating out section on the website. These with plain rice and minus any naans or samosas or anything like that would be your best option. The asterisks just say 'for an average portion'.

Chicken dishes– fab for a filling main, Chicken Dhansak is 6½ Syns* on Extra Easy. Chicken Jalfrezi is 8½ Syns*, Chicken Vindaloo is 8 Syns* and Chicken Tandoori is 9 Syns*.

Vegetable dishesVegetable Jalfrezi is 7½ Syns*, Vegetable curry is 9 Syns*, Gobi Aloo Saag is 11 Syns*and Vegetable Biryani 11½ Syns*.

I think the 'official' SW line is 10-15 syns. I believe so that there's leeway for any guesswork.

Have a lovely time with your boys tonight. What matters is that you get back on that wagon tomorrow.

I'm going to investigate a Mediterranean sauce/topping for my cod. I really can't justify the cheese sauce synwise but don't want to be chomping my way through 'dry' veg.

Oh dear wiz, I had so hoped you'd lose this week:(. Maybe now you're trying really hard with your SFs it'll help. I do admire your determination. Good that your GP is pleased with you. Are you taking any medication that could prevent weightloss?

I do take a lot of medication so I wouldn't know which one it was it could be 2 or 3.
I will be extra careful and I'll see what happens next week.
Thanks for checking and your encouragement. X:)

Stop talking about Chinese lol - I could murder a chicken in black bean sauce with rice, chips and curry sauce lol.

Whilst we are confessing ( ahem Mildredd) here are mine lol

    - I don't bother counting syns at all now - but just have it in my head that I won't go over the 15 more than one day a week!
This seems to work for me!

    - Every Thursday I usually have a Chinese and have whatever I feel like with half rice and half chips.

    !!!

Other than that though I am pretty good and do cut the fat of my bacon - Mildredd lol

    Afternoon all,

had to take the bairn to a hospital appointment so have spent the morning with bf's grandparents, they took us shopping at a local outlet but I was very good (money wise and syns wise!)

    Today so far:
Breakfast: lean bacon and tomato omelette
Lunch (out so proud of myself): jacket potato, baked beans and a huge side salad :)
Tea: not got a clue :/
Snacks: melon, scan bran (HeB) with free cottage cheese
    drinks: tea, NAS squash
    HeA: s/s milk
    HeB: scan bran

    Syns: 2.5 for small choc

No idea what I am going to have for my tea - I haven't defrosted anything or planned anything as I didn't know what the grandparents wanted to do/if I'd end up having a big main meal around lunch time.

I have some fish in butter sauce which I think are about 2syns each (?) or I may have some other fish I can cook from frozen/quickly defrost...hmm

Lantanna, have you tried may flower curry sauce?

Wiz, definition of madness, doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results each time... have you tried mixing it up and trying completely different recipes etc

I don't measure anything, guessing weights of food. Am also of the opinion that you need wriggle room when things slow down.

    Thanks shala for the chart

Mildred, poor you re bacon. I have tried not to have sausage but they are so lovely, last time we have a "fry" (use term loosely) up I did have one with brown sauce.

    Hi all,
So I have been MIA for the last for the last few days but am plodding along. I had a STS last week and this week lost 1/2lb both of which are better then a gain but I need to get my !!! back in gear.
Part of the reason my losses have slowed is that what i thought was 5 syns for 2 fingers of twix was actually per finger and guess who has been having one almost every evening. I am lucky that I haven't gained.
I am settling back into work though I am wrecked every evening so I need to plan in advance better rather than coming in and opening the fridge to see what I can eat.
