I was in Aldi this morning and the Benefit light cereal bars are back. The ones around 70 cals like the Alpen lights used to be. Can the Aldi ones be used as a healthy extra B?
I know they used to be and looking at the info they have more fibre than the old Alpen lights so I bought a box and hoped they were.0 -

For whatever reason the Aldi bars are not HEBs. There are only four cereal bars (2 Weetabix, 1 Morrisons and I Kelloggs) plus the Hi-Fi that count. They seem to come out at 2.5syns which isn't bad as a sweet treat if you like them.
jellybaby, the black pudding is 11.5 syns for 100g.
I'm still feeling podgy:( and dreading WI this week. DH now tells me we're off to see his sister tomorrow as it's her birthday so probably more off plan stuff. Everything seems out to sabotage me at the moment.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Ribena, 2 fried eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk
L/D baked cod, SW chips, tomatoes, mushrooms, cauliflower
S. cottage cheese, apple
Syns: I may sprinkle a bit of cheese on the cauli but definitely not making a proper sauce. May even manage it from HEA.
We're having our main meal mid afternoon today as DH going out later so I'll have an evening snack.0 -

Thanks for checking maman. I'll syn them which means I can have two for the same as a small (teeny tiny) choc bar, at least they're not as high as the new Alpen lights.0 -
Woke up this morning feeling rotten sore throat, headache and shivers
so will not go to weigh in today, will keep the germs to myself and stay in.
Have weighed my self on my own scales and -1lb so will go with that for this week.
I too am an older lady and am finding it much harder to lose than I used too. putting this down to not being as active as I was.Slimming World at target0 -
Change of plan for lunch today! Whilst out shopping decided to get some smoked salmon as wasn't too bad on price so had smoked salmon & salad sandwich instead of ham and salad and very nice it was too!
I then had a bowl of forest fruits with Mullerlight vanilla to follow to up the SFs a bit, as they have been a bit lacking since last WI.
Have decided to do the coq au vin tonight with white wine rather than the usual red as I think the chicken looks much nicer white than the pinky red where the red wine soaks into the chicken (also seem to have more white than red wine in the cupboard, LOL!)

Great loss! I make my SW roasties by just peeling/cutting up potatoes, preheating the oven to a hot temperature, spray a baking tray with frylight, then tipping the potatoes in, and spraying them with frylight too (I also season them with black pepper, and some herbs or garlic sometimes). You can par-boil them, and give them a shake in the pan too, which can help to give a crispy coating, but I've had too many bad experiences with bad batches of spuds, that go mushy in the first 10 mins of boiling, plus this way is less time-consuming for me.
It's also a good one if you cut up the potatoes smaller, and do them as bite size pieces, cook in the same way, and again add some seasoning or herbs like rosemary, sage or thyme. It's just another way to liven spuds up. I also do a mix of normal potatoes and sweet potato, but remember sweet potato cooks much faster.crumblepie wrote: »I was in Aldi this morning and the Benefit light cereal bars are back. SW website is playing up today and I can't find anything other than 4 choices of cereal bars on the list today. By the sounds of things they should be on the list.
I was thinking about amberfinn and gbatey plus their families this morning. I know there's an op coming up tomorrow, so best wishes for that.
Meal plan for today should go something like this: EE
B - Danio yogurt (1.5), apple, banana, kiwi
L - Apricot wheats HeB + extra (4 syns), milk from HeA
D - Chicken & bacon pasta bake, with extra veg: mushrooms, peppers, leeks, tomatoes. Some syns for a sprinkle of lf cheese on top (3)
If I need a snack later I will have some more fruit, and maybe a muller light yogurt for 1 syn.
Total syns should be: 8.5/9.5One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

I was surprised to see only four bars listed too. Maybe you're right and it's the website. I'll check again later.
I parboil my potatoes for just 5 minutes before roasting them. I used to put them on the baking tray or on foil but they kept sticking. Now I'm using one of those mesh things from the £shop for roasties, chips and wedges and it's great.0 -
Thanks maman! Will never eat black pudding again at those syns, definitely not worth it. Don't even really like it if truth be told! Makes you very, very aware of what you shove in your mouth without thinking.0

Hi< I've just started doing slimming world. I've not joined a group. My husband has been doing this for a couple of years now and has been very successful. I was following a low carb diet but I'm really bored with it so have now switched.
I have been looking at the recipe thread and keep seeing references to Scan Bran, please can someone explain what this is and where I can find it. Thx
After my first week on slimming world I've lost 2lb after a couple of months of stalemate, so feeling really encouraged.Weight loss 0/2st
