  • Hi - I too am an "older lady" and have arthritis and other probs - but have decided I need to up the exercise -mainly to tone up. I started taking my pedometer for a daily walk when I joined and in week one did 40 km. This week I am on track to do about 35.8 km - had a bit of a lazy Saturday! I don't go quickly and so far the weather has been fine!

Will see at weigh in tomorrow if it is working. Anyone know of any under chin exercises - lots of wobble and don't want to be left with folds of skin!!!:rotfl:
    Keep up the good work.

PS have checked my book and peas are under free foods on EE - as starchy vegetables. Sugar snap peas are Superfree.

Hi Maman, thanks for checking. The museli is 30 grams asda salt and sugar free. But, if it's not allowed I won't have It again, I don't have it that often. The mixed veg does have peas and sweet corn, but there are green beans and carrots. Can I have homemade wholemeal bread,
I will try and eat tomatoes and mushrooms .when my chips or potatoes are cooking.

Sorry, no, the Asda muesli isn't on the list so that's 5-6 syns:(. Supermarket ones that are: Tesco Super Berry or Sainsbury's Orchard fruit/Fruit and Nut. Of course there's some SF in the mixed veg but only about 50% so if you have a third mixed veg on your plate then that's only half the SF you need. Why not just have frozen beans and carrots? I quite enjoy tinned carrots. They don't taste like fresh ones but tasty all the same.

I don't know about home made bread but the HEB list says 60g of any wholemeal so you should be OK as long as you weigh it. Perhaps someone who bakes will be along later.

Just keep asking if you need to know any syn values or anything off the site. You'll get there.;)

    Hi everyone
I'm recovering well - still bruised and swollen and my arms look like I've been assaulted still :/ (covered in big bruises from trying to take blood from veins and arteries) wounds seem to be healing well - just all the internal stuff to settle back now :/
Who'd have thought I'd have ended up with emergency surgery 3 days before I was scheduled to have it removed anyway :/

Sary - I guess it's bitter sweet that your boys been diagnosed but how disgusting of his work :@ is there no any sickness tablets he can take to at least reduce it?

Maman - you are the oracle of sw :)

Joedenise - how jealous am I of your motor home - I'd love that just pack up on a Friday and disappear off :)

Shala- how was jury service? I hated the case I was on and even now 2 and a bit years on find my self wondering if I voted correctly on a couple of points (was a majority verdict anyway so my vote wasn't a deciding one but I do wonder :/)

Lantanna - <3 you chum xxx that dog needs tying up outside your local shop and leaving there!!!

Frogga - you will get there as not getting there isn't an option xxx

Beanie - I hope your feeling better beanie darling and your run on bad luck is now over

Top girl- how are you doing?

Green tiger - how are you doing?

Mrs-Ryan - hope your doing okay. Sometimes I wonder how you manage to do so much BM.

Once I'm back to normal full health I'm getting back on the body magic thing - which is walking with my dd that's the only bm I do and can commit to doing really xx the first week I upped my walking my weight loss was less than it had been but the second week it showed more? So don't be disheartened if bm doesn't show straight away xxx

I know I won't lose much this week as I still have quite a lot of get well soon sweets that are calling to me and I was advised to eat what I felt like as I'd been so poorly :/

    Hellooooooooooooooooo Everyone!

Just been catching up on the thread, boy, you've all been busy!! Sorry to hear some of you are having a difficult time of things, hope they improve soon.

Well, quick update on the last few days.....

The wedding was wonderful, I cried lots, damn hormones!! Cake was a big success, my daughter loved it - she had seen bits, but not the whole thing together. I didn't stay on plan that day as the food was far too good and the wine and vodka was flowing!

I spent Fri, Sat and Sun helping my other daughter move into her new house - it's 3 stories, so lots of running up and down stairs with boxes. Also had to scrub the place from top to bottom - I can't believe that people would leave such mess! Best bit was Saturday morning as I got to "help" by taking grandson and their dog out for a VERY long walk (4 hours) with my hubby so that they could pack the van and move things without little feet in the way. Food wasn't too bad, but did succumb to a ham baguette and a pre-packed chilli noodle salad just for convenience (oh, and some fruit and nut chocolate fell in my mouth late Saturday evening) . Still, I'm guessing all the activity cancelled out the worst of it as I managed to lose 1 1/4lb so creeping nearer that 12 stone something.

Back at home today catching up on chores ready for work tomorrow. Menu is much improved now I have control again!

    EE Day

B - fresh pineapple and ff greek yoghurt, fruit tea
L - LO HM stir fry rice with peppers, onion, garlic, ginger, chilli, mushrooms, sweetcorn and peas and a tiny piece of pork chopped up and mixed in
Snack - Ryvita minis - HEB
D - Garlic roasted chicken with SW roasties, carrots, broccoli, cabbage, gravy (2 syns)
    Snack - Shape FF yoghurt

HEA - milk in coffee through day
Banking syns for the weekend as we have a charity "Pie and Peas" evening to go to

Hope you've all had a lovely Bank Holiday

    Hello everyone
Not a bad weekend here weather wise, managed to get out for 3 walks.
I'm finding weekends and holidays surprisingly easy at the moment unlike pervious attempts when I used them as an excuse to eat poorly. Well done to the losers and maintainers, keep going to those who have gained of are struggling, wipe the slate clean by simply getting back on plan ASAP.

Breakfast- quark (sweetened with sweetener and drop of vanilla essence) with raspberries and grapes
Lunch - large portion of speed soup, apple
Snacks - hifi bar, satsuma, banana
Dinner, pasta bake made with quark and salmon, corn on the cob, sweet quark and raspberries
    Syns - 16 lidl mint sticks (13)

Did a load of Chinese fake away (chow mein, egg fried rice, may flower curry) for Sat tea, leftovers frozen for this week's work dinners. Today had full English for dinner and chicken burgers for tea, I just had chicken breast and salad though, everyone else had brown cobs, we also had a side order of sweet corn on cobs. Do find food so much more varied and tasty.

Wasn't sure if gym open so have pottered in garden instead, have a blister from raking. Can't wait to see this year's crop, as well as veggies we have strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, hoping fruit trees will also this year "do" something, we have Apple, pear, cherry and plum but no luck to date. Money saving and slimming....

Still spending quality time in my "New" wardrobe, now have cleared out all my "big" pants as felt like May fall down at aerobics, quite a scary moment so needed sorting. Amazed how excited I am to wear my old clothes! Found New gym trousers too!

Really sad to hear so many of you struggling with "black dog", your all doing brilliantly and I that you are able to see past this and realise how fantastic you all are.

  • Mildredd glad you are recovering well, take care of yourself and don't do too much too soon.

SeeBee, fab news that the wedding was wonderful, though I expected nothing less! Brilliant that you still lost weight as well :T

MrsLady, hope you are enjoying being a new Mrs and your day went awesomely too!

Just the two of us, my Grandma swears by covering your hands in lotion and running them repeatedly one behind the other up your neck for a couple of minutes and then doing the same going down your neck. Don't know if it works but it's worth a try!!

Today I've been to the park and for a walk with my boys. I managed to play football and run races with them! It's amazing the difference 2 and a half stone lost makes! I never could have done that before!

Been sticking to plan all week so hoping for a good loss tomorrow. Keep forgetting to post my menus though!
    Today's Green Day;

B - SW pancakes topped with blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, raspberries and a vanilla mullerlight.

L - Superspeed soup, cheese sandwich using 2xHEB wholemeal slices and 2 x HEA cheese.

D - Sweet and Sour quorn pieces/veggies, rice and noodles. Pud will be more fruit salad and a sugarfree jelly/mullerlight concoction (1syn), maybe some light squirty cream (2 syns).

Ps, does everyone know the new skinny cappuccino mullerlights are free? I don't like coffee so they don't float my boat, but general opinion of those who have tried them are that they are amazing Xx

So pleased the wedding went well Seabee and :Tfor coping with the house move all in the same weekend.

Thanks for your kind words mildredd, much appreciated.

Just wanted to give all those being pursued by black dogs a big :T. It's very likely that's why you put on weight in the first place (comfort eating) so I'm full of admiration that you're fighting it.:A
