talking of which.. frogga, hold your horses.. unfortunately you are not the only one with an 8lb loss this week, the lovely suse* also lost 8lb so I think you'll find it a bit cramped on that there podium! (note to all others, this isn't a competition but we have to humour the frog

Hi BJD, good to see you coming out of lurkdom. I agree with mildredd about adapting ordinary recipes. Generally then the most expensive ingredient is the Frylight!;) I was going to ask where you shopped as I seem to save loads by going to Aldi for almost everything.
Midweek, we tend to have things like sausage (half syn from Sainsbury's) and mash with lashings of onions and carrots, liver and onions, chicken casserole made with thighs, Bolognese, chilli (both supplemented with heaps of diced veg in with the meat), cottage pie and then weekends we have a roast (Aldi FR chicken is excellent) and a 'pub/takeaway' type of meal like SW curry or steak or gammon steaks.
Sorry to hear you're lacking in motivation eric. Compared with our friendly frog, half a stone isn't massive but you're right to try and stop it now. Like you I was totally messed up last week as I never managed to do a proper shop or mealplan when I got back from Easter break. Anyhow, we can't change last week so why not do a mealplan and then an online shop so you can get yourself organised going forward. Keep posting.:)
I've had a better day today but I think it's going to take a while to get myself to where I was pre-Easter. I don't know exactly what I've gained but clothes tell me I have. After today, I'll only be having one dinner at home until next Monday. It's great having a busy life but not so easy to eat well at the same time.
Today's EE menu:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB porage, HEA milk
L: beetroot! (snacked on as having early supper)baked cod, new potatoes, cauli & broccoli cheese
Syns: squirt of syrup, cheese sauce0 -
mildredd get well look after yourself remember your body has had a lot to go throguh so just hold on in there, the weight will start to come off again
Glad i resisted the tunnocks snowball. My best friend came round at lunch time bearing gifts of tesco tomato and basil soup. Yummy thought i that must be free as i guzzled it down. Turns out 1/2 the pack was 6 syns!!! So had i had my snowball i woulndt now be drinking a large wine glass full of 250ml dry cider (4.5 syns)

Evening all.
Frogga and suse* - well done on your mahoosive losses! Honourable mention to jeaniej52.
Frogga before I noticed suse*'s loss I was going to be mean and tease you that I'd lost 8st 1oz. Of course there's no chance of me doing that, so you just get those tap shoes on right now.
SeaBee your cake sounds gorgeous.
DundeeDoll, congrats on your loss. I do love a Tunnock's Snowball - love picking up all the wee bits of coconut left in the bag; it's like extras. you do realise yours is still waiting for you having a moment of weakness - it knows!
Mildredd, I feel hard done by on your behalf
Monday's Menu (after a good start, itdid not go to plan)
Breakfast: 30g hexb muesli with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and 0% ff Greek yogurt
Lunch: burger with half of the bun and half of the chips, tblsp coleslaw (and I turned down the cheese - and dessert), toty bit of shortbread
Then it goes completely to pot. I had planned to have syn free mixed pepper and tomato pasta and went shopping for the ingredients I needed, but got held up in a traffic jam, so had to use ready meal macaroni cheese that I'd planned to put in freezer for OH. Pasta doesn't take long, I know, but I had to feed grandson before taking him home, so taking into account the prep time it would have required, I felt this was quicker. I had less than he had (he's just turned 6) along with (shhh) a potato waffle. Followed by a banana. And a snackajack caramel rice cake (2.5). And a French cake because the rice cake wasn't enough :0
No supper for me then, unless it's hexa (I've a cheek!)
I hope I've not done too much damage before tomorrow's WI.

Mildredd good to see you back posting. Be kind to yourself and I'm sure once you are better recovered, your body will catch up. You've had a big op, and anaesthetic, which you need to recover from first.
Good losses coming in, well done!
Well my eating plan has changed purely because I've not felt well enough t eat much. So it has actually been :
B - yogurt (1), apple, banana
L - apricot wheats HeB with milk from HeA, yogurt (1), fruit tea
D - freezer casserole, was meant to be beef but didn't find any in it (suspect OH had it before I froze it) packed with veggies
The rest has been teas to soothe my throat. Hoping to feel better tomorrow.
I went to WI and pleased with -2lb loss this week. At least I'm off the starting blocks for the challenge. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
I have been given a Slimming World referral by my GP. I am hopefully going to start in class next week. Have never been to Slimming World, just wondering what to expect. I do not understand the diets, you can have as much as you like of some foods? Then how do you lose weight? I have done calories before and Rosemary Conley and did well.0

Some great suggestions there, I too am on a tight budget and tend to try and adapt normal meals to SW or as close as I an get. Have your considered stirfry. I buy a large bag(700grms) of smartprice stirfry veg, contains beansprouts, carrots cabbage and onion, for £1, although got lucky today and got a whoopsie pack for 50p. You can throw in whatever leftover meat you have. I usually do chicken.]
Gammon also isSW friendly I get a smartprice joint 3.79 kg and slice into steaks, from a joint costing around 5.00 I can get 10 steaks, you have to pick carefully as some have more fat than others. I have a steak with grilled mushrooms, tomato and pineapple, with wedges.Slimming World at target0 -
Well its my first weigh in at group tomorrow afternoon and am hoping for a small loss. I have been ultra good since returned from scoffing my way round Amsterdam and do feel I have lost a bit, well can do my jeans up anyway.Slimming World at target0
