blue_eyed_girl wrote: »Thanks for the lovely warm welcome. Things are starting to click into place. Did SW 18 years ago and the EE plan is so different. I think it will be better once I can clear my head of the old red and green. Did big food shop at Mr. S's this morning (had smug smile on my face at how healthy my trolley looked).
Only biccies were rich tea fingers. Will get the little branded food book on Monday night as I used to find this helpful. I also used to use the large food directory but that was before we had access to stuff online. Do you find this book helpful? Anyone use any phone apps?
I always seem to struggle with fat free yoghurts and desserts made with artifical sweetener. Will probably use syns on odd biscuit or bit of chocolate to get my sugar kick.
Can I ask about the weight loss challenge. When does it start (take it I missed the start) and how long does it run for?
Would love to have time to read the whole thread but that is just not going to happen so I will try to keep up with everyone from here.
Have a good weekend everyone

Hi there beg.:)
Red and Green still exist if it suits you. They're particularly good for vegetarians (Green) or if you're desperate to have extra HEAs and HEBs. And you can mix the days up if you want.
I wouldn't bother with the brand book if I were you. You can look up almost anything on line and they update it regularly as recipes change and new lines come on stream.
We're barely a week into the challenge so certainly not too late to join in. The lovely shala will explain and add your name to the list. From memory, it lasts 10 weeks and you pledge how much you hope to lose in that time. Then all the weeks in between we post our losses (;)) and share the ups and downs with plenty of advice and support thrown in.0 -

Hey all
Well done Sary, thank you Lantanna and hope things get better for you soon Beanie xx
Free day today, poached eggs on wm toast and strawberries for breakfast, chicken salad with no dressing and an apple for dinner, SS soup for tea. Though, about to head out for a few vodkas, all within syns hopefully...
Does anyone have the recipe for free crustless quiches please? If memory serves, they have courgette, red onion and mushrooms in? Thought it was in this month's magazine, but can't see it. Quantities and temps and times please...0 -
Hello lovelies,
Big hugs to you Beanie, wish you weren't going through such a difficult time right now. Thinking of you xx
gbatey - really hope things went well for your mum today, have been thinking of you and her today.
amberfinn - good luck with your interview, I'm convinced the well wishes from you lot helped me no end.
MrsR - hope you have a brilliant weekend, and know you're going to look amazing!
Lantanna - lovely to see you matey, I didn't even tell you lot about getting 'stuck' in one of the evil shapewear items did I? I think I should have stepped into it, and tried to put it on over my head, then couldn't get it down or off. Thought I'd be stuck that way until OH came home hours later.Hope your mtg with the Dr goes well. My son has been much better since he went to see his Dr, and now has regular meetings or phone calls for support.
Maman - I think you're right, I did feel more confident, and I think it was Lord Duke who said about going in with the attitude that I have what they want. I will get my thinking cap on for lunches, although I get an hour for lunch, and it's only a five minute drive away (10-15 min walk if it's sunny), so I could come home and be very good that way.
b-e-g - I use the online food diary and the syn searching tool online all the time. I find it so easy to use, I can log on via my phone and using my ipad. I find that handier than a book.
So, I was really pleased that I managed to keep my meal out fully on plan last night. I had a seek kebab for a starter (lamb) with salad, and then had chicken tikka with salad for my main course. It was lovely, and I even let the girls I went with have a chunk of my chicken to try. So I was pleasantly satisfied, but not full at all. I only drank diet Coke or water too.
today I had to get lunch on the road, as my journey home took hours longer than anticipated due to the bad weather :
Calling today : Original
B - Yogurt 1.5, banana, apple
L - Wrap 9, chicken, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, mayo 1
D - LF sausages 4, potatoes HeB, beans 3.5, gravy 1
HeA1 - milk in teas
I'm not having another HeA or HeB today, because I have gone over my syn count, so trying to limit any more calories. I felt very hungry by the time I had my dinner, and the sausages made up the majority of my plate, so a very small portion of beans and potatoes. I'm a bit peckish still now, so know I've not over eaten. Although they don't necessarily fit into the plan, I don't think I've actually had a huge amount of food today, which I hope will ensure I don't affect my loss for this week. I have tried to be very good where I can!
Now I'm back home I need to plan what we're going to be eating over the weekend, and then sort out an online shop. I want to get into the habit of doing my shopping online so that when I'm working I will have it all under control. I won't want to be mooching around the supermarket at a weekend, or during my evenings, which will be come more sacred. I have 5 weeks to get organised! One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0
