Amber and gbatey I wish your mothers the very best of luck with their journey through treatment. I was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer last year (aged 42) and have had 2 x surgery, 6 months of chemo and 4 weeks of rads and just got clear scan results a few weeks ago. Its a tough time for you all, but staying as healthy as you can will help enormously. If either of you have any questions then please feel free to pm me and I will try my best to answer but my family found the breast cancer care website excellent. There is a section on there for people supporting someone who is going through treatment.

Back on subject.....its a green day for me today. Managed a 45 minute walk yesterday, but not so far today!! Weigh in tomorrow morning!!! So should try and get a bit of body magic in this evening.

It was good to hear your positive story nell. Big hugs for amber and gbatey (and their mums of course).:)

LD, lots of people like making an Eton Mess/Pavlova type pudding as meringues are fairly low syn (3 for a standard nest) and then add fruit and yogurt. Personally I'm happy with a bowl of berries (I buy the frozen mixed ones), some sweetener and preferably Total 0%.

Change of plan at lunchtime I had a JP, cottage cheese and beetroot and I enjoyed it.

    :rotfl: This made me chuckle

Can just close my eyes and imagine my mam saying it when I was younger moaning that I was hungry on a night

Should of listened to her a little more and might not have to loose all this weight now

    Hello all :)

Sending love to Amber, gbatey and Beanie Lou still, plus anyone else struggling.

Bit of a disaster yesterday in that I was aiming for 3.5 syns and finished on 12 :( Still banked three for the weekend and 14.5 overall so far.

    Today

Breakfast: Trimmed bacon, poached eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms and one piece of bread

Dinner: Tuna pasta salad with a laughing cow extra light, mugshot and alpen light bar.

Tea: Salmon fillet, new potatoes cooked like SW chips, carrots and broccoli, then an apple.

Later: Pineapple and kiwi with some fat free yogurt and an options

    HEXA Milk in my tea/chocolate

HEXB 1 slice of 400g warburtons wholemeal and 1 Alpen Light

    Syns

    1.5 extra light mayo
    1 mugshot
    1 laughing cow triange
    2 options

    15 - 5.5 - 9.5 left so 24 for the weekend.

    Body magic - 2 x 15 minute brisk walks

Fairly uneventful day, although I managed to completely muck up the timing of my tea, so I had the potatoes to start, vegetables for my main and salmon for dessert :rotfl:

    Hiya
Sorry to hear about your mums Amber and gbatey. Hope all goes ok.
Bit emotional today so not a long post sorry- today I've had to say goodbye to my colleagues for the last time, I'm officially now no longer able to do my job :(
Went shopping to cheer myself up, bought a lovely silver Oasis bangle watch for £20 to match the silver bangle I bought to wear on my other wrist for the ball. I also bought a few nice tops as I have no smart tops left that fit- all size 14 and all a nice fit.
Going into wifi exile for 8 days as of tomorrow but I will post a pic of myself in my dress when I come back.
    Take care all xx

Please can anyone in contact with Mildress pass on my best wishes to her, I hope she is doing ok.

And has any seen Lantann lately??? Hope she is doing ok.

Ok, so first week on the challenge and I have lost 2lbs
pretty pleased with this, as a group this week we all only lost 25lbs! It was also taster night tonight, there were some really scrummy things and I got lots of inspiration which is always a good thing. I have pledged 3lbs at WI tonight, this will take me into the lower half stone. Last month I won slimmer of the month with an 11lb loss, this month I have only lost 4lbs. May needs to be month.

    Welcome to the thread B-E-G!

    Good evening.

amberfinn53 and gbatey, I second what nell said about getting information. I am also a breast cancer survivor. I had a mastectomy and lymph nodes removed 2 weeks befor Christmas 2009, followed by 6 sessions of chemo and 3 weeks of radiotherapy. On reflection, I think it was easier for me to deal with the cancer than my loved ones. I had to just get on with it but they felt helpless, they couldn't do anything to make me better. My family were fantastic, just being there and not tiptoeing around me. I took the opportunity to reevaluate my life and decide what was really important. I gave up work under ill health retirement scheme (my job owned me and I no longer enjoyed it, as it happens), and I made much more time for family and friends - and for ME. It was summed up by my daughter, writing on her just giving page when she was running in aid of breast cancer awareness that I was "healthier and happier than I had ever been". Taking the decision to do something about losing weight was another of my life choices. It is hard, I know, but don't be afraid, talk about it. Like nell, I'm willing to answer any questions if I can. Feel free to ask.

dincanada, oooo, curly wurly - I've not had one of them for soooooo long! And there is no shop in our village :(
