  • Jeanie what size wholemeal bread are you having with your sandwich? You can have 2 slices from a 400g loaf as one HEb, but only one from an 800g (standard size) loaf. If you've had 2 large slices then that's an extra 6 syns.

1lb off is still a good loss though, try not to get too disheartened. You might get more next week Xx

In the meantime I'll be following SW here and there (wrong, wrong, wrong, I know) and hoping I don't break the scales next week.

Our consultant has a saying for times like this:

"Be good when you can and be careful when you can't". I think that sums it up nicely.

I think after SW for some time you automatically tend to pick the healthier options when available and choose more sensibly when you have to.

It's bread from a 400g loaf. I know I should be happy with any sort of loss but after such a drastic change to my eating habits and really sticking to the plan, I expected the weight to be just falling off...

They say it's more difficult to lose weight as you get older so maybe it's partly that and also I'm unable to exercise. It is disheartening but I'm determined to lose the weight so that I can have my hip and knee replacements so I won't give up.:)

Have decided on another Green day today:

    B - porridge (HEB1), Mullerlight banana & custard
L - fried up LO potatoes, egg & beans
    D - Spanish rice - 70g chicken (HEB2) chorizo 2 syns

HEA will be milk in tea throughout the day.

Need to buy some more bananas today as have run out. Still have some oranges & pineapple but don't want to buy too much today as going away for 10 days from Friday. Will be able to take some stuff with us but would rather buy fresh once we're there as I like to try and buy local where possible.

Jeanie - your plan looks more like a Green day to me.

    HEB1 - wm bread
    HEB2 - All Bran
    HEA - milk

    Syns - 80g prawns - 4
    Hilights choc - 2

As everyone else has said a 1lb weight loss is a good loss. All the time I was losing I was only losing 1/2lb - 1lb a week. I know it can be a bit frustrating but just keep going - you'll get there in the end.

1.5 off at WI. Bit disappointed- tried so hard this week thought it would be more. Still a loss is a loss and I've definitely dropped inches :) have tried on my dress and I'm now only wearing 2 pairs of shapewear instead of 3 and it's looking good :)

It seems there are lost of us disappointed with losses. I agree with denise that a regular loss is fine. I got to target on an average 1.5 loss but what I also wanted to say is don't be disheartened and keep going. I'm a great believer that whatever you do on SW will catch up with you in the end. So a small loss or STS can often be followed by a really good one. Sadly the same is true of being 'bad'.:(

I'm an 'older';) lady and living proof that you can lose. I gradually put on weight over a 10 year period and made a conscious decision that I wasn't going to accept that getting fat is automatic as you get older. I'm also very lazy with exercise. I think that helps toning more than weightloss.

denise is right that your menu would be lower in syns if you called it Green. Provided you're not a massive meat eater then it's often better to syn/HEX the meat.

    EE for me today:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB toast, HEA milk, baked beans
L: definitely making frittata (peppers, onions, potatoes, mushrooms, tomatoes, eggs)
D: sausage, mash, onions, cabbage, carrots, peas, gravy
    Syns: scrape of spread, gravy

Well off to join SW class this afternoon, looking forward to getting the books and trying out a few new recipes.

I have cleared out a cupboard ready to stock with lowfat salad dressings etc, I found a couple I really like 70% less fat, one is Italian
and the other lemon and pepper. The lemon and pepper is lovely with fish.

  • Morning everyone...day one yesterday went like this:

B: big bowl of strawberries and blueberries with 0% fat Greek yogurt
L: 2x nimble with wafer thin ham, chicken, salad and 1 slice of cheese (HEX a and b)
    S: wafer thin ham
D: couple of eggs, bacon medallions, tomatoes and beans (frylight)

All looking good and dandy until I arrived to babysit my GKs and my DD had a big glass of white wine waiting for me...ah well - I was hoping to keep my wine syns for the weekend but I guess I'll have to count those ones from last night.

My own personal challenge starts this Thursday - 4 weeks till DH and I go on holiday and I'd love to lose a stone (14lb) in weight before we go...we'll see!!

    Today:

B: 1 boiled egg, big bowl of berries and 0% fat natural yogurt
    L: same sandwich as yesterday
D: home made burgers (sans bun for me) with SW chips and a big salad.

Have a good day everyone! :D

    Hi All

I had a fab weekend in London, Miranda Hart was fantastic, I had sore jaws I laughed that much. The atmosphere with the marathon being on was an added bonus! We will be back in the not too distant future. I lost 1.5lb at WI last night :j so all the walking must have helped but I did make good choices, as my stomach can't handle greasy food now.

-1.5 loss Shala Moo please x

    EE Menu today

    B - Fresh fruit salad
L - Speed Soup. Activia yoghurt, melon, strawberries, apple, plum
D - Paprika chicken, chips, salad
HEA & HEB - Ryvita & cheese, beetroot, pickles

Have a good day all x
