miss_independent What make of Sweet Chilli Sauce do you use? I needed some for a stir fry recipe but couldn't find any, other than jars of dipping sauce or cooking sauce and I don't think they're the right ones, are they? I improvised by using tomato puree, chopped chilli and a bit of sweetener but I don't think that was right either. :rotfl:

I use Aldi's - I'm pretty sure it is the dipping sauce. I had it in the same way that you would use ketchup! I've also used it in recipes and sometimes mix it with natural yogurt or quark to make a fake low syn Prawn Marie Rose.
  • I've tried my best to be good today but joint birthday celebration at a lovely local Indian Restaurant today. I had half a poppadom, 1 tsp mango chutney, stuffed aubergine starter, chicken kofta in a tomato and vegetable based sauce and steamed rice and a pistachio kulfi. No cream based sauces, and it was cooked with very little ghee/oil. I couldn't work out the sins so all I've had the rest of the day was fruit and a mullerlight for brekkie! I haven't had a HEb today so later on if I'm hungry I might have a BFree wrap with ham salad filling. HEa was 250ml semi skimmed milk in tea and coffee.

    evening all,

I have had a good day today, yesterday may have taken me over a bit though. We were at a friends house for dinner, a big group of us. I knew I'd be naughty, so had a good start, syn free fry up brunch, and yoghurt/aplen bar before.

I ate: peppers, carrots, crudities, I made the Houmous from fake away book, and a dip with yoghurt and a bit of paprika. I had a slice of garlic bread, and about 6 nachos.

Main was veggie lasagne, veg curry (I know if had coconut milk in though), jacket spud and rice. But I had a big bit of nutellea cheesecake for pudding, and 3-4 glasses of wine. But I had a lovely night!

Today has been a good geen day,
    weetabix, milk (hea and heb)
    alpen light (2.5 syns)
    snack shot, quorn and veg
    muller light
quorn meatballs, tom sauce with loads of veg and pasta
Slice if toast with cheese spread (hea and heb).

I have lots of syns left, might have strawbs, meringe, and yoghurt later. Then still "saving" a few to use towards last night!

Maman thanks for checking. I forgot to add my cauliflower and mixed veg at my evening meal it was just a typing error.

I usually have plenty of fruit with my meals and in-between meals. I know it's a lot to ask but do you think you could check each day for a week as I must be going wrong somewhere my scales never seem to alter much. I know I shouldn't blame my scales but it does seem strange..
    Thanks

Hi wizkid, hope you don't mind me butting in..

Could it be that your portion sizes are too big? I know SW advocates unlimited free food but I do think this needs to be taken with a pinch of salt.. common sense tells us that we can't have 3 bowls of pasta everyday and lose weight... although SW implies this (except for the small print);)

Also we have been checking your menus and they seem fine the only thing I can see that would be an issue other than portion size/volume is the fruit intake? What sort of fruit is it? If it's fruit high in natural sugars i.e. banana or grapes then we were always told to cut back on them.

I'm not 100% sure but I think it's better to eat veg than fruit because of the high natural sugars...

Apologies because I can't remember whether you go to class or not - but if you do I'd definitely get your consultant to have a look over your food diary.

    Evening gang!

It's been a lovely, sunny day here today, so I made the most of it and got outside in the garden for a bit of body magic. Off out tomorrow afternoon/evening too with OH to the race track, so lots of walking back and forth to watch him whiz round.

I'll miss my evening WI tomorrow, but will go along to the Weds. morning one instead.

Have had a reasonable day on plan, for a change!

    EE day

B - porridge (heB), milk from heA, sugar (1)
L - bacon, eggs, leeks, mushrooms. Danio yogurt (1.5), tangerine, apple
D - Roast chicken, leeks, carrots, broccoli, sweetcorn, potatoes. Yorkshire (4.5), gravy (2)

have a great week ahead everyone!
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Rubbish weekend for me.. yesterday pizza, and costa hot chocolate this morning set me off eating everything else in the house today :o

You lot are so good at sticking to plan :T I just don't know how you all do it for more than like 2 days :rotfl:

The photos have been posted from the wedding and to my surprise I don't look that bad (i.e. I look like I expected too) I have a very large bosom and I think that detracted from my tummy somewhat :rotfl:however, I definitely look larger than most people there so back on it..

    Plan for tomorrow
B - banana, yogurt, alpen light bar (b)
L - savoury rice, chicken, salad
    T - sausages (2) mash, lots of carrots - yum, onion gravy(2)
    S - crisps(4) milk (a)

could anyone look up the syns for M&S Cajun Chicken Fettuccine for me please.. thanks x

What damage have I done do you think? Do you think 2 days syns are enough or should I also have none tomorrow ( I weigh Tuesday night)
    Thanks x

Lots of us work on a bank of 105 syns a week and many, like me, eat fairly syn free all week and save them up for weekends. If you think your celebrations at the Chinese may have used up lots of syns then try to be 'good' until WI. Better to be under than over.

No problem, you keep posting the menus and we'll keep checking, that's what this thread is all about. I do agree with shala that it's better to have the majority of your SFs as veg rather than fruit. IMO sugar is sugar whether it's 'natural' or otherwise. I know you're not really a veg fan but I think there's a pecking order of good SFs with sugary fruits and carby veg at the lower end and green veg and salads at the top. That's not necessarily SW policy, just what logic tells me.
