Hey everyone. Am new to this thread. I have tried Slimming World on and off in the past but really need to do something. Just found out I'm expecting my second child and am 16 stone. I had gestational diabetes with first baby, but was wondering if I can start now I know I'm pregnant and whether my midwife can refer me, not just my doctor. I don't mind paying but have been reading that you get them in blocks- do I need to pay for a big block (which I probably couldn't afford) or do you get so many as a taster? Thanks xx

Hi Sabrina, welcome and congratulations. You don't need to pay for blocks of classes you can just pay for each one you go to, might be best to have a word with your midwife first though and make sure she's happy for you to go - here's the page from the SW website about it
    http://www.slimmingworld.com/health/policies/pregnancy.aspx

I know Nessie used to be on here and she was pregnant whilst doing SW but I'm not sure if there's anyone else..

Evening ladies! Can I join in?

I started in November and have lost 1st 9.5lbs but need to lose 5 stone more by August for my wedding in May 2015.

So far I am finding it very hard going, I think I've averaged 1lb per week though, which is good enough but not great.

Our group is a bit rubbish, the same person loses c.6lbs a week and gets SOW and SOM every week/month. I'm finding it really hard as the group is mostly about her amazing weight loss, but then she does go swimming twice a day and do weights... so really I'm jealous :o I'm more of a plodder.

I've been following your thread and find it really inspiring and useful - loads of ideas for meals. I'm so dull, generally eating the same thing every day and using my syns for bread and hifi bars.

I find the weekend the hardest... so wish me luck... I'm doing success express this weekend to get myself over a plateau

    Evening all
Off to Ealing tomorrow to watch a massive game for us.. If we win were safe from relegation and Ealing are relegated, Ealing win and we're in deep trouble  My player still injured but I have a bit of eye candy in the form of our returning from injury back row who is rather easy on the eye ;) and it's going to be quite a nice day so looking forward to it. I've made a tub of syn-free pasta, I have an apple, a little pot of fruit salad, 2 HiFi bars, 2 bottles of diet drinks and a low syn chicken noodle salad so I shouldn't go hungry. However staying away from the bar might not be so easy :D

    Today's menu.
Brunch: Pasta carbonara with HEXA Laughing Cow light blue cheese, and I know this sounds strange but for pudding I had HEXB porridge with frozen mixed berries. I just really fancied it!
Tea: tuna, beans, Uncle Ben's Thai Chilli Rice (2.5 syns) Choc orange Mullerlight with mini Milkybar (3.5 syns)
Supper: 2 Cheese Twists (4 syns)
Drinks: Tea, NAS Ribena, Volvic water

Today's been a bit disjointed as I discovered this morning that OH had managed to dye my beloved Lipsy tracksuit, that had 12 bids and was going for £20, a fetching shade of dirty blue by putting it in with things he hadn't washed before. Spent a large part of the morning in tears.. I've forgiven him now. Sort of. And someone on EBay messaged me and said she didn't care and she'd give me a tenner for it so all is not lost..

    Right, bedtime! Night all xxx

I agree it can be disheartening for other members if they feel they have no chance of winning either of these with your example someone who looses 5.5lb (a brilliant amount) would get neither of these awards. Clearly this lady must have a fair bit to loose to get to her target if she has been consistently loosing this amount of weight. Consultants do like to focus on how much people have lost I think it is a matter they feel proud of to have helped people loose big amounts of weight. I do wonder however whether there is a bigger occurrence of giving up and regaining what has been lost between those who loose 1 stone to get to their target and those that loose over 5 stone. SW is slim for life, but then again being cynical it is not in any consultants financial interest to get all their members to target and have them stay there- they need a balance between paying members and target members. Personally I think would be good if they had two types of group- a weight adjustment group in which you worked towards your target and a target group which helped you stay within your target range.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

No your pretty much right, it's 2 bits of fabric that hang from the ceiling and you have to use them in air to turns, drops and movements in the air, getting in the air is hard enough!

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerial_silk wiki explains it much better than I do!

It should get easier as lose more weigh too as less fat to lift off the ground :rotfl:

Hope everyone is having a good day and no weekend naughties!
