Wiz - if you were going to group I doubt a 1/4 lb increase would even show on the scales! They only weigh in 1/2lb increments! As Maman says it's worth sticking to Green to have the 2 HEAs and HEBs and not having to worry too much about veggies. I'd stick to Green most of the time if I didn't have to feed DH as well - he's a true carnivore but also loves his carbs so has to be EE most of the time - but I do miss the extra HEs.

Morning All,
MrsR - your retail therapy sounds good!
Lantanna - hope you can send that black dog out for walkies soon. Would it help to post here if you're feeling fed up?
Wizkid - keep posting your daily meal plans so that you can get the help and suggestions to keep you on track. I found it invaluable when I was first trying to get my head around the plan, and also trying to change my eating habits. I didn't get to the weight I am without eating badly consistently. I'm with you on being a bread junkie. My only way of dealing with that has been to practically cut it out of my diet. If I allow myself to have it as a HeB too often, I know I never lose that week, and often gain. My body obviously loves to hang onto the stuff! I now treat myself to 2 slices of wholemeal as a bacon sandwich every Saturday lunchtime, and I enjoy it, but some weeks find I don't even really fancy it, and will leave it out and opt to have a couple of eggs, some mushrooms and tomatoes instead, making it a bigger meal to fill me up, and completely free! I definitely found excluding it meant I craved it less.
With the veggies, what veggies do you like, or can cope with eating? I'm sure posters here can come up with some suggestions to make vegetables more palatable for you. I shove things like mushy peas (bleurk! hate them) into a beef casserole and I can't detect them in there after mixing into the lovely stock and other slow cooked veg. It's just a way I can get a SF into a meal, without me even realising it. I only like certain fruits, such as strawberries, but they can be expensive, and tasteless out of season, so I've made myself try kiwi fruit (makes you 'go') and pineapple, which I've not liked for 40yrs, but can now tolerate, and I eat an apple a day, which I also wasn't so keen on, but have found I like Pink Lady and Braeburn type.
If I'm going to keep this weight off, I've got to change what I eat for the rest of my life, not just while I'm shedding pounds. Hope that didn't all sound too preachy?!
Anyway, I've been fighting to keep myself on plan this weekend, with some success, although suspect I may have slipped over syns on Saturday. The appetite monster will hopefully be leaving very soon, because I have just wanted to eat and eat. We now have hardly any fruit left, and just 1 yogurt! I have to admit to needing answers to my hunger on Saturday, and found that only Smarties could help! I can only think my meds are the cause of that craving. Feeling better because of them though
I have a new motivator though, in 2 weeks' time I have an interview. I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to wear, but know I won't fit into any of the nice trousers, blouses and jackets that I've used before. Actually I am unsure what to wear, as it's in a solicitors office, so what would they expect, especially as it's going to be client facing? It's been more than 25yrs since I was last sat working in a solicitors office! God I'm oldIdeas anyone? I'm a dumpy size 16/18 still, conscious I have fat calves, hence why I've opted for trousers in the past.
Anyway, I'm rambling... back to today's plan, and it's WI day, so keeping it light if possible.
B - Magic porridge (heB), banana
L - Ham salad, savoury rice, dressing [1]
D - Slow-cooked pork loin steaks, SW chips, leeks/carrots
Keeping my syns lower for the next few days, to do a bit of damage limitation after the w/end. I did get on the scales this morning, and they do show a loss, but anything can happen between then and 6.30pm WI.
Good luck everyone else, it's a whole new week to be successful! One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Yay. I just weighed in and had a loss of 3 and a half for the first week. I am so happy as having done ww before and knowing that I should weigh potatoes and rice etc I was a little worried about just going with the flow on SW BUT I am converted. I set myself a target of 2lbs every week for 12 weeks (I paid for online subscription for 3 months) and so I am motivated to stick to it. Even yesterday I had my bro and his OH around for dinner I cooked and so they were bringing dessert, I was careful in cooking dinner in that it was lean meat, roasties and veg. I will admit that i cooked the roasties in olive oil but was happy to use syns for that. They brought apple tart and so we had that afterwards with a sup of tea which was fine and then my OH brought out the biscuit tin now before I would prob have mindlessly just reached over and had one or two but yesterday i thought hang on I actually don't need it and so while they all scoffed a few I enjoyed my coffee.
Yes I can do this
No it is not a diet it is a lifestyle change

Hi I have done SW before and am planning on joining again tonight and hopefully get back on track. Its been a couple of years since I did SW (Ive been to WW) so was hoping to pop in here for a bit of support and help if you are happy to have me?You can stand there and agonize........
Till your agony's your heaviest load. (Emily Saliers)0 -
Lantanna - good to see you posting, hope you can still keep on track, you're so close to target xx
discountmummy/Lordduke - fab losses - well done!!:j
Seabee - did you take your measurements at the start? sometimes our body holds on to weight but our measurements go down.. so this can always be a boost of weeks where you don't get your expected result.
mumoftwo - thanks for letting me know, hope you're ok and as Maman says you're always welcome to pop back x
Sary - great news for the interview, i think a nice top and trousers would be fine for an office and especially with the warmer weather on it's way a jacket would be a bit hot.. do you have a nice pair of heels you could dress them up with?
Hi Kandipandi, of course we're happy to have you - the more the merrier.. good luck at class tonight.
Mildredd, Beanie - hope you're lurking around somewhere - be good to know if you're both ok xMortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Hi Kandipandi, welcome to the thread. You'll find plenty of help and chat here. Join in for maximum benefit. Good luck with joining tonight, you won't find it very different from before, although they will only talk you through the Extra Easy plan, as it's what most seem to find suits them the most. However the green and original plans are still there too, giving you those sometimes much needed added Healthy Extras. You'll pick it up easy enough I'm sure. Wishing you lots of success with your SW journey
I knew it was too good to last!....sarymclary wrote: »today's plan, and it's WI day, so keeping it light if possible. making it Green day due to lack of ham!
B - Magic porridge [heB1], banana
L - Ham salad, savoury rice, dressing [1] had to change this already because the ham has been eaten! So savoury rice, leeks, mushrooms, some cheese [heA1]
D - Slow-cooked 100g pork loin steak [HeB2], SW chips, leeks/carrots
HeA2 - milk
Here's hoping it doesn't need to change again! One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

If you could find another group to go to later in the week there is a voucher in tomorrow's Bella for reduced joining fee - not sure what it is but noticed it on my local SW Facebook page yesterday.
No need to stay at another group if the one tonight would be more convenient just go there next week.
HTH.

Oops - made a small change, thought I hadn't already posted but obviously had!0 -
Lol - yeah I'm here - just don't really want to off end my woes onto you all when they are nothing major but me being a melter lol and probably another mid life crisis lol
Just suffering from serious self esteem issues at the minute and that guy not wanting me has totally affected my confidence - I always want what I can't have and I've been crippled with anxiety for the last month or so!
But yes I hope to return to my usual self soonlol

That's hardly a massive gain Seabee and it sounds like you're toning up and losing inches rather than pounds. Just keep plodding and it will show on the scales eventually.
Hi Maman, you are right, I can tell by my clothes that things are going in the right direction. A few weeks ago I would have thrown the teddy out for gaining after trying so hard, but I have noticed a pattern forming and I tend to have a few weeks with a small loss and then a few weeks with a good loss, so I'm not going to stress about it.
Seabee - did you take your measurements at the start? sometimes our body holds on to weight but our measurements go down.. so this can always be a boost of weeks where you don't get your expected result.
Hi Shala, no unfortunately I didn't and I wish I had now as it would have given a more rounded picture of my weight loss.
Hubby reminded me that I have a big bag of clothes up in the loft so I am going to send him up to fetch them down. Hopefully they are smaller sizes so it will feel like a new wardrobe without spending anything :rotfl:
Sarymclary - good luck with the interview. Having just had my first in 8 years I can totally empathise with you! I wore a smart dress, jacket and killer heels. It did no end of good for my confidence. The men on the panel were dressed in suits and ties, but both the women had "office" dresses on, so I guess it doesn't have to be a suit anymore, just as long as it's smart and you feel good in it.0
