Joedenise - its 24 pieces to be half a syn each. I made them bigger so 1 syn each.

Back on plan today, although I dont think I have eaten enough and have heard people say not eating enough can affect losses.

    Green again:

    B: banana
    L: salad, another banana
D: stir fry, loads of noodles, mushrooms, onion, pork (hexb 1), sauce (2 syns)

Hexa milk in drink. 13 syns plus hexa and hexb left for this evening.

What does everyone have for lunches? I manage ok in work where there is a kettle and microwave, but struggle in uni for ideas for a packed luch. Salad today was nice but just not very filling. Need to stock up on things I can eat for breakfast on the go too.

I sometimes have a salad and then ryvita with laughing cow cheese, or a salad and a mugshot. I made those mini quiche things the other day and they are ok cold, you could have 3 of those with your salad. Or maybe cold pasta with vegetables or some other sauce? (I'm not very good at cold pasta dishes!) Cous cous? What do you have in your salad? I make sure I have less lettuce and more of the other bits then ham & egg, or chicken bits, or salmon to bulk it out a bit.

there isn't a huge amount of choice if you can only have cold food... salad, sandwich, pasta. That's all I can think of anyway!

I love the little quiches but don't fancy them cold for some reason. Maybe i should just give them a try. I like having green days at the moment, so salads have had peppers, pickles, cottage cheese etc. Might have to do ee tomorrow and have a wholemeal roll with ham and salad for lunch. That should be a bit more filling. I struggle in the evenings as I always feel peckish once everyone else is in bed and I am sat downstairs alone, so I like to save syns and/or some hexs for the evening.
  • Evening everyone,

Well tonight went a bit awry, I agreed for my little girl to help out at a dance class tonight all rather last minute, I didnt realise how long it would be and she didnt finish till almost 7 so we ended up getting fish and chips as I couldnt make her wait till I cooked anything as she was starving :(

back to it tomorrow though :D

    Evening all
Not had a very good day today. I only got paid £400 which is about half what I should have got so I got very stressed about it- hence the fact I've only had about 2 hours sleep  bad timing as I had a lot I needed to buy but I went shopping today and got a few bits. In fact there's only a couple of things I didn't get- I got three pairs of jeans, a belt, 9 pairs of knickers (important to have properly fitting knickers right ladies? :D) 5 pairs of socks, a pair of sunglasses, 3 vest tops, a t-shirt, some trackie bottoms, a new wig for the weekend (ohhh I shouldn't have but it was beautiful!) some hair clips, 2 shapewear vests and some shower gel. I love my new skinny jeans from Primark- they're artfully distressed and ripped :) they go lovely with my slogan t-shirt from Quiz. I've accepted that I need to buy an 18 in jeans from there but bizarrely I wear my proper size-14- in t-shirts from there. Bizarre!
Despite my stress I've been quite good food wise! Today's menu:

B: Ready Brek with a Aldi Forest Fruits yoghurt stirred in (4.5 syns) cuppa coffee with HEXA milk
Mid morning: Red Bull sugar free
L: Asda ham and egg salad, melon and grape pot, Evian water
Afternoon snack: Scrambled eggs on HEXB W/W bread toast, tiny scraping of spread (1) pint of NAS cordial
T: Tesco Healthy living salmon and broccoli pie (2 syns) uncle Ben's Thai Chilli Rice (2.5) banana, pint of NAS cordial
S: Steamed mixed veg with Worcester sauce, NAS cordial
    Syns: 10
    Body magic: loads of walking!
Hope everyone's ok, hugs to those that need them xx

Hi everybody, hope it's ok for me to join in with you all...

For years I've ignored all the warnings about needing to lose weight even though I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a couple of years ago and have arthritis, needing both hips and knees replacing but have been refused the operations until I lose a substantial amount of weight.

I recently tried a high protein, low carb diet which I stuck to for 7 days but absolutely hated. I really struggled with eating a minimum of 250g of protein for main meals, 50g for snacks, with only a very limited choice of vegetables, 6 x a day, whether you were hungry or not. I started to feel quite ill and just the thought of shovelling more meat into me made me feel really sick. I did manage to lose 10lbs in that week though...

Anyway, I decided it would be more sensible to try SW again, as I lost almost 5st on the plan a few years ago. Of course, I gained it all back, plus more, when I went back to my old, bad eating habits again. As it's difficult for me to get the local class, I decided to join online but I'm quite a numpty where computers and the internet are concerned and I'm having trouble navigating the site and find it confusing.

The plan seems to have changed quite a bit to when I was on it before but I think I understand most of it ok. It was my first weigh in on Monday, after a week on the plan and I was shocked and disappointed that I had gained 3lbs. I don't know why I gained, as I honestly did follow the plan, faithfully filling in my food diary, counting and if anything, over-estimating my syns and drinking lots of fluids.

So, a not very successful start but I'm determined to carry on and get there eventually... :)

    Welcome jeaniej52

scarymclary - In your position I would have the mcdonalds with the birthday boy. His happiness is most important and its one day. Tomorrow you can get back on plan.

Welshkitty - try having salad and a mugshot, I also have jacket pots (pre cooked so just need to warm up) with beans. Pasta, left over chilli and so on for my lunch.

MrsChristmas - the light laughing cow is lovely, never tried the really light ones.

Thursday - shall be known as the day of the Asda salad incident. Just goes to show all the time you think you are making healthy choices, often you are not!

Setting up a new shop and I was running late this morning so did not have time to prepare any lunch to take with me. Rushed in to asda and bought a Asda layered tuna pasta salad - thinking yes there is some mayo - but its salad, tuna and pasta. Rush back to the shop - eat it, with some fat free cottage cheese then think oh check the syns on the app. 11 syns! for a salad! Taken my over my syns for the day.

All day its been running through my head that because I have gone over my syns I should just eat what I want but I have resisted. Have started doing 10 km on the exercise bike the last few days, which I am proud of so its swings and round a bouts I suppose.

Breakfast - 2 x wholemeal toast with light laughing cow triangles x 2, melon
Lunch - the salad of doom!, apple
Tea - salmon pasta with light philly and quark mushrooms, onion, broad beans. Served with roasted fennel, broccoli and salad. Banana pancakes (experiment I chopped the bananas not mashed them, DH and DS loved them but I was not to keen) Strawberrys and mullerlight.

Hexa - 2 x light laughing cow and milk in cuppas
    Hexb - 2 x wholemeal bread

Syns - 11 on the asda salad of doom, 2 tassimo cream pod, 1 extra 10gms of bread, philly with salmon and dill 3, walkers pops 4 Total 21
