PLMBL - don't worry too much, I bet you lose loads next week. Some weeks our bodies just don't like to lose weight no matter how hard we try!!

Maman - Happy Birthday, enjoy your day xx :bdaycake:

I wasn't going to post today as I've put lots of weight on :o but then it's no good only posting my losses if I'm not going to own up to being a piggy is it! So, for my birthday week I had a gain of ...... 3.5lbs :o:o

Yes I'm embarrassed and yes I should have controlled myself better but I didn't.. Let's hope I can lose it for next week. I'm still off work today so I shall use my time wisely and draw up a plan!

Have a good day all xx

Morning all, hope you all have the gorgeous sunshine that I am seeing today too - makes such a difference to your mood!! First things first, I have weighed in at home today after speaking to my consultant as it doesn't look like I am going to make it back to group until the 1st week of April because of work / holidays etc. Delighted to report 3.5 off, I didn't think I was going to get that but maybe my big bowl of superspeed curry last night did the trick!!

It is almost impossible to keep up with all the convos on this thread as there are so many, but in regards to disappointing results I definitely think you need to factor in being a woman - my first week on plan was the week before * week and at one point I looked like I had gained 6lbs and I had been really really good, I was gutted!! Theres nothing we can do about that though, just try and stay as positive as possible and remember that if you stick to it, you WILL see the losses eventually.

Mildredd, I used to go mad on WI night and have either a chip roll out the chippy or chips rice and curry sauce from the chinese, along with a tin of fizzy juice and probs chocolate too but I've stopped now because I'm really trying to change the way I think about food. And because I seem to be going crazy on the drink at the weekends!!!!!!!

    Today will be green.......

    B: Weetabix banana milk (HEXA/B)
L: Quorn Chilli Cheese dogs (3 syns, HEXB2)
D: SS rogan josh with all ss veg, uncle bens pilau rice (2)

Snacks - fruit and sf jelly if i can be bothered making it

Have a fabulous day all xxxxx

    Happy Wednesday all!

Commiserations to the gainers, but don't lose heart. Use it as a springboard to increase your determination!

Lunch today will be leftovers - smoked salmon (use by today) and last nights boiled potatoes, probably sliced and fried in frylight or oven cooked.

Dinner - I'm going out to a Nepalese restaurant. Any ideas on syns for nepalese mains? They are lighter than Indian, and I have seen figures of 5 syns for dhal and 8 for mixed vegetables. They do a lovely dish that is half each of those, so was thinking I'd go for 7? Plus free rice and 8 for naan. Was thinking to allow 20 overall - would 5 be enough for a mango lassi? Does that sound reasonable?

I have a question about post wi treats? Do you count them in ur syns or is it a free pass?
I normally have a treat and don't count it but this week I've counted and I don't know what to do really claw it back or accept its a post weigh in treat xxx

I would accept it as a post weigh in treat and start afresh from the next day depending on what it is..

I'm like Daisy was, we go a bit mad on a weigh day and have a takeaway or something, but I need to stop as that day leads into the next etc etc... :rotfl:

I watched a program where the lady was on WW but had a full takeaway every weigh night and as she was justifying it to herself and viewers it just sounded a bit loopy..
Yay!!!! 4lbs off giving me my 2 stone award and club 10
3 off for me and tonight whilst we were in class DD got an e-mail through telling her she had an unconditional offer for Uni for teaching. We were both crying and everyone was clapping and cheering, So a great night for a few reasons :D

Brilliant losses and brilliant news MIT!!:j:j

Thanks for good wishes. I'm having an indulgent day so although I've had a sw breakfast I'm going to enjoy my Indian meal tonight and just eat whatever I fancy on the menu.

Sorry can't find anything on line about Nepalese trow. usually veggie or tomatoey stuff is lower syn with plain basmati and any salad on offer without masses of dressing but I'd just enjoy it if I were you then get straight back on plan.

Hate to tell you mildredd but post WI treats aren't really syn free!;) :(I think you should count it in your weekly total of syns. I'm in the mindset that when the weekend comes that's when I have my treats so I don't think about them on WI day.
But I GAINED half a pound :(:(:(. Absolutely gutted! No idea why apart from maybe I was too good if that makes sense. Virtually no syns and lots of exercise may have put me into starvation mode??

Anyway, went round to my friends last night and had about 25 syns worth of wine :o, first drink I've had since before Christmas, so I'm certainly not an angel this week!

I think it's a big mistake to have no syns. The plan is designed to have some and it makes for a balanced diet. Like lantanna was saying, we should eat some sugar and salt and fat. They're only 'bad' if we have them in excess.

Don't worry about the 25 wine syns. Just think you've got 80 left for the rest of the week!

Definitely agree with that. See it as a challenge!! Plus you have all the help and support you want on here.

I've posted before about tinned new potatoes. I've had a can this week (14p in Aldi) and I've fried them up with three lunches. One in a frittata and two with cold meat and pickles. So easy and they make the meal a lot more substantial. I'm going to get some for the SoW basket.

Someone asked yesterday about taster sessions. Unfortunately I think they're part of SW so all groups have them. They go down really badly at my group as it's 9 in the morning and no one is in the mood for it. Consultant says her evening groups are better. Since I've been at target I generally avoid going those weeks and before that I rarely took anything in. It's not compulsory.

Happy Birthday to all who's b-days it is this week.

After the horror that was my business trip at the weekend I was hoping to STS. I must have had a lot of retained water on my * week even though I lost 4lb that week as I have lost 8lb!!!!! Have weighed myself 10 times moving the scales to various locations around the house and its the same no matter were I am. That has taken me from the 21st to the 20s. I have had 3 days with 0 syns since coming back, been eating loads of SS melon and did extra body magic but I am in total shock.

Breakfast - 1 slice wholemeal bread (30g) Half HexB 1 laughing cow light triangle, 1 banana 1 plum
Dinner - Jacket potato, salad and beans
Tea - omelette with free cottage cheese and salad

    Snacks - melon, fruit
HexA - milk in tea and laughing cow light triangle

Does anyone split their healthy extras? For example can I have 30g of wholemeal bread and 2 original ryvita or 175ml of skimmed milk and 2 light laughing cow triangles? I have been doing this the last few days as I find it easier to have the variety and it makes sticking to plan easier for me but I am not sure if it is allowed?

I don't split my HEA as I only use it for milk in tea and need all 250mls of it!

I do split my HEB sometimes, although not every often. As long as it is something which will split easily such as bread, weetabix, ryvitas (where it is an even number) then I don't think it's a problem.

Happy birthday Maman - enjoy the Indian tonight.

    Having another EE day today:

    B - egg, mushrooms & baked beans
L - ham salad with LO tinned potatoes (we had some fried up last night as quicker than chips and was later home than expected)
D - sausage traybake - sausages from local butcher who makes them with extra lean pork - consultant says to syn them at 1 each, will probably have 3. The rest of the traybake will be potatoes, carrots, courgettes, onions, garlic and anything else that's in the fridge which will roast:rotfl:.

Snacks will be fruit - banana, melon, satsumas; mullerlight

HEA - milk in tea throughout the day
HEB - not sure but may have some Ryvita or toast this evening with a scrape of butter

WI day tomorrow - doesn't it come round quickly!

    Denise
