Why don't bbc employees deserve a pension, in your opinion?
They do deserve a pension, I shouldn't have to have my annual bill go up yearly to compensate for the failings of the BBC.
The business should be managing money better, that or making cutbacks.
The amount of crap shows the BBC spend millions on could easily make up the shortfall.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 0650 -
"The law states that you need to be covered by a TV Licence if you watch or record television programmes, on any device, as they're being shown on TV. This includes TVs, computers, mobile phones, games consoles, digital boxes and Blu-ray/DVD/VHS recorders.
You don't need a licence if you don't use any of these devices to watch or record television programmes as they're being shown on TV - for example, if you use your TV only to watch DVDs or play video games, or you only watch ‘catch up’ services like BBC iPlayer or 4oD."
From the tv license website. how can they prove you dont watch your tv? i pay the licence to save any hassle but i hate paying for it. it seems to me that there are a lot of people that dont bother paying for it then never get into trouble which isnt fair.0 -
Radio 5 Live is worth the license fee alone. Sometimes it is just absolute bliss to be able to watch live tv without the volume going up every 15 minutes so you don't miss the latest news from WONGA!!! or Lenny Henry sleeping.0

Seriously do people still pay for a TV license from the most corrupt, overpaid, peedo establishment?
Proud to say I've never ever bought a TV license and funded these lowlifes.0 -
I voted out of personal preference to do away with it as I don't watch the BBC but to be fair my viewing choices are teeny tiny anyway. I only watch a few shows, I prefer total quiet and a good book.
I can see why people that enjoy watching the BBC wouldn't mind paying for it. I suppose the reason why it irks so many is because people that don't watch the BBC still have to pay for a tv license where as if you don't want to watch Sky you simply don't buy it. As I sit here thinking, more things pop into my head. I suppose there are no advertisements on the BBC.
Oooo, I just had another thought - I could have deleted my previous mention of not watching the BBC but I think it highlights that sometimes we watch it without realising - I have been glued to the Winter Olympics and I watch Wimbledon - so I guess I DO watch the BBC channels, hmmm.0 -

The tv licence has cost the same since April 2010 and will remain unchanged until 2016.
And it's hardly the bbc's fault that the government has made the cost of pensions much higher through it's economic policies (e.g. QE).0 -
I'm thinking we'd pay the licence fee just for cbeebies...0

I wouldn't pay a licence fee, but then I wouldn't own a tv either.
Don't really understand why people have tvs in 2014.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.
