Errrr yes they did! Or in horrific large institutions.
It was actually the Tories that bought in "Care in the Community".Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy - Anne Frank :A0 -
Debrac probably doesn't realise that DWP officials read these forums, and have the power and means to find out her identity.
It looks very much like she has been fraudulently claiming benefits for quite some time, amounting to a quite considerable sum with ESA and DLA payments, plus possibly extra add ons.
Fraudulent claims such as this are very likely to be punishable by a custodial sentence, and it is people like this who are causing genuinely disabled people to have great difficulty in getting the benefits that they so badly need.0 -

no wonder the countries swimming in debt.......
I take it that all disabled people lived in squaller before DLA was introduced.
They lived many ways, including poverty. Some lived in vastly expensive institutions.
Some got AA, before DLA was here for younger people, the sickness benefit then was earnings linked, so higher than now, councils provided free help, and there were grants - DLA replaced all that.
Majors Tory government introduced Care in the Community and bought in DLA.
LinYou can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -

To be honest, DWP officials are so busy sorting out the current chaos, I don't think they get time to read forums.

I think it was a shame John Major never got a chance really at being PM always had a lot of time for him. By then though his own party were breaking up and the Country were fed up with the Tories.Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy - Anne Frank :A0 -
As a tax payer and a 100% supporter of ATOS, I am sickened yet again, that for the last four years I may have been sponsoring a hill climbing athlete, thank god for ATOS.0

Atos have proveb ove the years that their ability to carry out these assessments adequately is very much in doubt.
there will always be people that play the system, but it is really unjust5, the amount of ill/disanled people that are found to be 'fit for work'
and i am speaking as someone that has sailed through the assessments, but that is only because i have a condition that neatly ticks all the boxes0 -
Sorry, but this case of Lazarus rising, is just one of many found to be a drain on an over generous and clearly flawed system
until someone comes up with a system designed to protect the hard working tax payers from fraudulent, exaggerated or downright criminal claims, I whole heartedly support ATOSAnd would support far more survellience type investigation to root out fraud, I'm sure one of the benefit supporter will come up with the 1% fraudulent claims rubbish, it is very apparent there is a very real and massive fraud in this system.
It needs a major overhaul and ATOS are certainly shaking the tree and should be supported, until someone comes up with a better solution, this is the best we will get.0 -

I can't walk along the canalside now but still want to meet friends so would often go in the wheelchair. They used to puff and pant going up the bridges at certain lock points
I couldn't imagine being pushed uphill continuously for 30 minutes. Thankfully, I now have the scooter - saves any more puffing and panting on their behalf:rotfl::D

I had it after a bad crossing over the bay of biscay back in 2002, mine only lasted about 10days. Just felt as though I was still on the ferry all the time.
I had never heard of it before but it is not something I would want to suffer from. It must be awful :eek:There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0
