Between 810 and 1,350 Londoners died in 2012/13 because their homes were too cold.
So yes, people are dying from lack of heat. Some of these will be pensioners of course, but not all. Fuel poverty is real, and it does kill people, including the unemployed (which I am sure you probably aren't that concerned about anyway, Denning)
Oh you're back, doctor of death. We going to really get into who cares about who the most? You already showed your self up for your true self.
'Because their homes were too cold' is completely misleading. Show that it was too cold because they couldn't afford to heat it. Show that there wasn't underlying conditions which made them especially susceptible to the cold.0 -
Are people dying from lack of food or lack of heat? The 'eat of heat' is largely nonsense, what it really means is 'I can't eat what I want and heat how much I want'. Want and need are not the same. If you need for something you are in poverty, if you just want for something you are not.
I would have thought heating was a need not a want
I do know wants and needs are separate things as I did study economics. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Well, thank you. I am indeed a doctor - although admittedly not of death. We don't believe in killing people where I come from
Just be aware that I have already reported you and will continue to do so while you persevere with your unwarranted personal attacks. Trust me, honey, I am pretty damn sure it wasn't me that was shown to be a particularly unpleasant individual yesterday
As for your last sentence - looking at that now, just for you - although admittedly I do have work to do so it will probably have to wait until this evening. Many apologies0 -
Well I haven't eaten since dinner last night but no not dying.

Heat/warmth is, heating isn't, necessarily.

I'm not surprised you are one of those people, don't like when people correct you so cry. I haven't personally attacked you, I pointed out that the result of your priorities is the premature death of cancer patients.0 -

Broken windows and drafts in the building wont help but if I had some £ I could get the window fixed and then have less of a draft. What joyWe’ve had to remove your signature. Denning, you seem to believe that the £71 per week is just swallowed up into some black hole. It isn't. The money goes back into the economy.
You do realise that the benefit bill is largely high due to uncapped rents? How's about large corporations not paying any tax? What about the filthy rich using off shore banks to avoid paying tax on earnings?
Do you have any ire reserved for them, or do you only kick people when they are down?
ps. I work and don't claim any benefit at all. I do not begrudge paying my taxes for those who do and who have a genuine need.0 -
You didn't correct me at all my dear. You just showed yourself to be a complete c*ck
When you have the time, please do show me some statistics that show the direct correlation between allowing the unemployable like GG to live and premature cancer deaths. I give you my word that I will be all apologies when you have those stats.
Reported for vile offensive personal attacks.
You want me to prove that if we didn't spend money on those who don't wish to work we could spend more on life prolonging cancer drugs? Go troll elsewhere.0 -

Nope, not a troll.
And, yes I do. I love stats. Come on, lets see you put your money where your mouth is.
edit: On second thoughts - don't bother - I know you cant so I am asking the impossible. Lets just agree to ignore each other. Better all round for everyone, don't you think0
