I was under notice of redundancy for 5 months and during those 5 months I did EXACTLY that.

I left my house at 07.00 each morning to go to work and got home at 18.30, going to bed around 10.30.

That left 4 hours each night, or 20 hours a week to do housework and job search plus any other time I could drum up at the weekend.

Then again, maybe I just have a different view to unemployment to other people in that I see it as something I should put every effort possible into ending and if that means sacrificing my social life, which I did for 5 months, then so be it.
