  • Thanks kynthia. The three hours did indeed fly in today and we learned loads about third stage which I was fairly clueless about! We've already been chatting about a reunion so that's good!

Congrats justme! Sounds like you did amazingly!

The list is getting smaller and smaller!

  • Thought I'd post an updated list. Not sure if I got your delivery date correct beckyy- guessed based on when you posted but feel free to update if it's incorrect.

    I'm 5th on the list - scary!
  • Congratulations justme!

Exactly the same thing happened with Fred. OH wasn't able to express so had to just use formula. His Jaundice wasn't bad enough to require treatment. He's doing fine with weight now though.

Hope things improve quickly for her and that you're able to feed as you wish

Eeek! 37 weeks today. Bag mostly packed, baby clothes all washed and unpacked in the nursery (so cute and so many memories of my daughter wearing them), bottles bought, crib/pram/bouncer/floor matt/moses basket assembled, car seat washed and ready, Perfect Prep and breast pump in the kitchen (need sterilising) and a pack of aptimel with sterile teats packed in the hospital bag. My last birthing class is tomorrow night so I'm feeling prepared.

We still need to finish off my daughters new room (she's moved in but want to put up shelves, stickers and find pictures to put up) and the nursery need a new coat of paint, new wall stickers and new blinds but we can do these even if the baby comes. So i'm feeling much more prepared than last time.

I haven't had my show yet when I had this at 36+1 last time. I know that doesn't mean anything but I do wonder if I'll have this one later than 38+1. A growth scan last Wednesday estimated the baby was 6.5lb so I wonder what it will be each week she stays inside?

Good luck 2016mum and rubywhataschmoo, I wonder which of us us next? :D

  • You are so organised Kynthia!! Good luck to you and everyone else due in November...not long to go now!!

I had my 32 week midwife appointment this morning and the baby has managed to get herself into a breech position after being head down at my last appointment! Apparently her wee bum is nice and comfy sitting in my pelvis! Anybody got some tips on how to get her to move??

Thank you Pink Petal but there's still lots to do, however my main goal was essentials done by 37 weeks. As I said before my daughter came 2 weeks early between exchange and completion of moving to a new house so we weren't prepared at all! All her clothes in plastic storage boxes on the spare bed with a change mat on it. Our monitor and breathing sensor didn't even get set up until 8 days after she arrived and tge nursery furniture was bought when she was 3 months old. We coped though as we all do.

There's a website called spinning babies I think with tips for getting a baby to go head down. Lots of sitting upright and going on all fours I think. They can change as my friend's was breach up until the night before her 34 week appointment when tge baby dud a big move to go head down.

  • haha well you sound organised to me! Our nursery is still full of things from the loft as work on that seems to have ground to a halt (our fault, just no time!) but we've now got a plan of action to make sure that's finished by the end of November!

Thanks, actually now you mention it I seem to remember my Daisy Birthing teacher recommending spinning babies to someone in the class who was breech. I'll have a wee browse of it tonight and have told OH not to let me lie on toe sofa, despite being shattered. I'll be hanging off the side of a chair all night or off my gym ball!

    Hi All,

Just catching up... huge congrats justme! Wow, that list in moving along now.... eeeek!

My apt at the diabetes clinic was actually really informative, and the consultant was so much nicer than the "normal" one - they have given me a machine to test my blood sugar 4 times a day for the next 2 weeks - I have to aim for less than 5.0 fasting (so first thing in the am) and then take it an hour after each main meal and aim for below 7.0.

I've done almost 5 days now and almost all readings have been in the normal range, with the two that haven't showing me clearly when I've over-carbed! I am trying to move around more after eating, even just going up and down stairs or doing chores seems to help it drop after meals so I'm really hoping they will be pleased with me when I go back on the 17th and hold off starting any medication. The consultant said if I can get it under control myself with diet there's no reason I can't go to full term if all is measuring ok and placenta looks good - so doing what I can to make that happen. Just a week ago I was happily tucking into a nice bit of chocolate or a croissant, this week sugar and bakery products are the devil!

Oh well... determined to turn this into a positive, somehow... maybe I won't have as much to lose after the birth now?! xx
