Congrats Skint! Sorry it wasn't great but at least he is finally here!

I'm 37 weeks today :). Going to try and have a lazy day today, think I did too much yesterday and have busy next two days with appointments and lunches out. I have a big tesco delivery coming this afternoon with a months worth of cat food, tins, coffee, frozen stuff to tide us over for the first few weeks. Hoping the delivery man will help unpack it!

Congratulations euro and skint, I hope you recover well.

My work mate also had a failed induction and ended up with c section yesterday, so that's three in the last week that I know of, crazy!

Had midwife today and notes still not available but she got them at lunch. Thing is, they don't make sense! My recorded blood loss was 450ml but my haemoglobin went from 10.6 before birth to 7.7 three days later, a 450ml blood loss wouldn't have caused that so midwife thinks they missed a 1 off, and it was almost 1.5l!

Anyway, she's discussing me with birth centre manager Friday to see if they will assess me. Still planning homebirth anyway so not end of the world.

jtr.. they only record the blood lost during delivery on the birth notes.. anything lost after that is recorded in the postnatal careplan.. mine say 300ml lost during the section and the 1.4L after and then more when I was back in theatre.. Hb has little indicator of blood loss.. Mine was 6.9 before having Twinkle, I had 6 units put in and bled them all out again... and after she arrived it was 7.9 .. the Hb will be affected by several things, fluid in and out.. how many bags of saline did they tip in you while having the last one?? . I had 7 after DD3 and they complained my Hb went from 7.3 to 5.1.. yet I had very little blood loss.

Congratulations skint and Euro, both names are lovely.

I've been feeling a bit anxious about things over the last few days and over analysing all movements etc, I hope I snap out of it soon or I'll never cope for another 10 weeks. It doesn't help that I don't feel him moving anywhere near as much when I'm sat at work at my desk as I do when I get home.

When do people pack their hospital bag? I got oh to get my small case out the loft yesterday but not sure when I should actually start packing it!! And apart from haribo which a friend recommended I have no idea what to pack!!!

    Hi all

    Congratulations Skint- wonderful news X

Currently laying on a hospital bed following induction earlier around midday. So far, absolutely nothing has happened but it may still do. Midwives assure me that it can still happen in the night but hubby has had to leave now as visiting hours are over so he'll be back in the morning unless anything changes overnight.

The care so far has been superb though so I'm happy enough, just disappointed nothing is happening X

I was told I was to be admitted and had to come home to pack my bag.. 3 days before she arrived.. I'm very organised! unless you like drinking room temp water.. take drinks!

pants, pads, couple of nighties, slippers, cardy, bra, toiletries. hair brush. various chargers. towel.

Baby stuff.. 4 body suits, 4 sleepsuits, 2 cardies, 2 hats, 2 blankets, few muslins, nappies, wipes,

Whatever you like to nibble when you're bored.. I had biscuits and crisps and prawn sarnies and ribena.

I always take a puzzle book and pen so something small to occupy your brain when awake.. but mainly.. sleep while you can!

  • I packed mine a week or so ago and I've got 8 weeks to go. Including snacks, cereal bars, drinks.. I don't fancy stale hospital sandwiches. Yuck. I've got my kindle in mine plus wool and a hook for crocheting in case I'm waiting around. Which knowing that hospital I probably will be.
When I got the changing bag I thankfully got a matching hospital bag, so her stuff is all in one and mine all in the other.
There are lists around but the ones I've seen forgot things like toothbrush and toothpaste, face wipes, deodorant and things like that. I've probably overpacked. But it all fits in the bag and it's ok if I end up having to stay in longer than anticipated (which I hope like hell I don't).
