  • Seeing lots of familiar symptoms here around the 27/28 weeks, I've been crying loads more than usual recently.

hieveryone I'm seeing & feeling lots of funny shapes and I have no idea which bits of baby they are!

I'm also waking between 2-5am most mornings, getting back to sleep is not always easy!

GTT results were not as I'd hoped (to be honest, I'd not even considered there would be an issue, I thought they were just being over-cautious) so that was a bit of a blow. I'm no longer 'low-risk' and now under consultant-led care which changes my birthing plan somewhat and means more monitoring etc. I'm sure once I'm in a routine with it I'll feel better but right now I'm a bit upset I won't be able to have a water birth, it was really helping me be positive about the labour :(

Not bought anything for a while so need to get back to my lists and start making sure I've thought about everything I'll need for my hospital bags. Also need to start planning for what will need to be organised for us at home when we come home as 3 instead of 2! I am so excited to meet our little boy, I get tears in my eyes just thinking about it :j
  • Sorry to hear of the GTT results snow-ball. I have mine in a few weeks and am really nervous. I always liked the idea of a water birth, but then found out recently that due to being high risk this is unlikely, although not totally impossible I think. I am high risk due to my BMI (37) but the notes at the hospital suggest that the birthing pools in the delivery ward can be used up to BMI 40, so I am going to ask the midwife what she thinks.

Thanks devildolly. The midwife did say that a water birth isn't out of the question, but that the equipment they would require to monitor me in water is not currently available at the hospital where I will give birth. She said there's no reason why I can't still have a very active labour though, moving around, using a ball etc, so at least that's some consolation.

25 + 2 today. Had midwife appointment this morning. Baby brain made me forge to ask for my MATB1 though, D'oh. Don't know how I'll get it now though (called the surgery now awaiting a call back from the midwife).

Sorry to hear about the GTT snowball, I hope everything is ok and it's easily manageable.

Had Thursday and Friday off last week, very nice and made loads of progress on the house - painted the kitchen, got tile and tiling stuff, picked paper and paint for the lounge, organised a plastered, varnished the new doors AND managed a date night :D House finally looking like we'll get it done in time!

On Friday morning I had some really weird sensations from baby, like they were punching me in the exit! Movement has changed too, I thought she'd done a flip and midwife confirmed that baby is now head up, where as bubs was head down last week.
  • Hey all, not read back yet as so busy at the moment, it's hard to get on :o I hope everyone is well.

I had my GTT test last week and results came back when I saw the midwife on Friday. All clear, which I was relieved about. Especially as I think I had too much of the stuff.

29 weeks now and pelvic pain has stepped up a notch. Very painful in bed at night.
Saw physio at the hospital yesterday, a lady I hadn't seen before, and she actually made me cry  she recommended I take up pregnancy yoga as I am not breathing properly, which is a big problem apparently and making my pelvic pain worse. She asked if I had any concerns over labour this time round and I guess that hit a nerve. She was surprised I hadn't been able to speak to anyone after my last birth, and said having forceps and a big baby was very traumatic.
I have to see her again in 2 weeks, and do pelvic circling on my ball! At the moment I don't see how that is physically possible.

I have my leave down for 20th November, which is 7 weeks, but will have to see how I go.

Could someone edit the list please? I was previously called katy721 but changed my name. Gave birth on 21st to lovely baby girl of 7lb 3oz.
She is currently shelling soundly on my lap after being up all night wriggling and grumbling for no reason at all!

I had that 'strange sensation' too!! So odd!

I've been a little worried the last few days, I've not felt as many strong kicks/jabs but he does seem to flip around every now and then and I seem to feel them more internally, IYSWIM? Can feel all sorts of lumps & bumps around my belly and I'm dying to know what position he's in :) Got a scan on Thursday so will be sure to ask then!

Sounds like you're making fab progress rambosmum, we've got a few bits downstairs to finish off and then it's time to get cracking on the 'nursery'.

Diamond Orchid, good news about your GTT but I'm sorry your pelvic pain is so bad. Mine isn't so bad during the day, the worst time is in bed at night, but I seem to be in the habit of turning very slowly and with my knees together now, so at least I'm not crying out and scaring DH to death anymore! :o

One of my biggest worries about delivery has always been the possibility of forceps. Obviously with gestational diabetes the risk of a bigger baby and as a result, interventions, is higher. I'm just trying not to think too much about it yet. Has anyone started, or planning on doing, a birth plan?
