Well after a hopeful Friday, things stopped over the weekend, only the occasional niggle! So still waiting, hopefully things will start back up again. Got my 40wk midwife appt tomorrow, she might take pity on me and do a sweep, but I think they make you wait till 41wks here.
Hope everyone else is doing ok xx

    Congrats Phoenix!

hiipihaz - hope things start moving again soon

Have got a few bargains this week that I thought others might be interested in.

Used the tesco double up event to get the cot bed, mattress and mattress protector for free! They have quite a lot of furniture eligible for the double up so worth a look if you have a lot of vouchers lying around.

We had decided on the cosatto giggle a while ago and were waiting on a good offer - it's finally here! Now includes free car seat so all in for under £400.

    Hope that helps someone.

Otherwise plodding along, only real issue is early morning waking where I can't really get back into a proper sleep after. I used to have to be woken by the alarm so it's getting me down a bit. Coping fine at work without the extra sleep for now.

  • Congratulations, phoenix! :j And come on, baby hippihaz! Fingers crossed the midwife does a sweep for you today.

I've been AWOL for a little while. Taking each day as it comes for the most part, but Hubby and I went away to visit family and friends for a couple of weeks, as we now won't be travelling very far until after baby is born. Had a wonderful time but now feeling rather under pressure as we are now well and truly on countdown until baby is born and the house is still a building site!

I had my 32 week growth scan yesterday and baby is growing well, weighing at just over 4lb (approximately)! A lovely little detail the sonographer pointed out is that our little bundle of joy already has a head full of hair! However my placenta is lying over my cervix, stopping baby from moving to be head down (they are currently lying across-ways). As we waited for our scheduled appointment with my consultant, I said to Hubby that it may mean a likely chance of having a c-section, which my consultant confirmed. We're waiting to see if the placenta moves up between now and my 36 week growth scan and will make a decision then. If it hasn't moved (which my consultant doubts it will given my gestation, but it's not unheard of!) then we will be booking in for an elective c-section at 39 weeks. If I show any signs of going into labour/bleeding before then then I'm to go straight in to hospital and probably deliver via c-section.

Hubby and I have been very laid back about the birth from the beginning, partly because we haven't dare dream we'd get this far, but also that as long as we deliver our baby alive and well, we don't mind if that's by c-section or natural birth. But I can't deny that I was a little emotional yesterday after our appointment. I think it was a combination of hormones, tiredness and there being a lot to take in and get my head around (as like most people I had hoped for a natural birth). On the positive, if it's planned, then we have time to prepare and know what to expect! Thankfully feeling calmer and less emotional now I've had a good night's sleep. :)

    How is everyone else doing?

We have the Cosatto Giggle pm04gn! Absolutely love it! We got it a while back with the free car seat deal too - I think it's a great price for what you get :)

Come on baby hippihaz, we're waiting to cheer you into the world!

Ah Mrs_I, that does sound like a lot to take in. At least you can mentally prepare yourself for your 36 week scan, & if you do still have placenta previa you know what will happen next. Glad you're feeling better after sleeping on it. You've just got to keep that end goal in sight :) Like you said, the positives are thatit's planned so you have time to get your head around it, and you'd know exactly when they'll be arriving :)

Completely OT but me and OH got locked in our bedroom at 5 this morning! Got up to go to the loo and the door just wouldn't open. The handle had broken and wasn't moving the latch. After several attempts to jimmy it using an old credit card and a dismantled metal photo frame OH accepted it was going nowhere, and kicked a hole through it and tore it down!! Definite man points earned there. We've been meaning to sort it for ages because the handle was creaky and clicked, which we thought might not be good when trying not to wake the baby - well, we'll have to sort it now won't we!

I remember you saying you had got one Claire_A87, I wasn't brave enough at that point so kept my fingers crossed they would repeat the offer in 6 months and they did!
Which pattern did you get? I've gone for moonwood and my friend who is 20 weeks has also gotten herself one in Oaker. Like some sort of weird club.

Mrs_I glad to hear baby is growing well and you seem to be taking it all in your stride. At least with things like placenta praevia the decision is out of your hands so you've just got to go for it.

Yes, we got it a stupidly long time ago because we got the fear that it'd never come back on sale - silly really in hindsight! We've got it in Oaker like your friend, but love the Moonwood as well. The colour scheme goes with our house, oddly!

I have been thinking of doing the nursery in grey and yellow as well, think a bit of a theme is developing! Everything will match the pram at this rate.

    Hello peeps,

Darcie Belle was finally born, 2wks late on 16/5/15. Had a sweep on 13th and found out baby was back to back :-(. Another sweep on 15/5 - I had gone back to 1cm dilated, still high IP32 6TG and thick effaced. Was booked in for induction on Sunday 17th so tried breast pump (this started ds off 18m earlier) and 2 mins later at 22:36 contractions started, 2mins apart. 10mins later I went to the loo then felt/heard a pop but nothing at all came out. Went downstairs to make a drink and with each contraction I leaked a small amount. Got in bath at 23:00. Contractions got stronger and I decided DH should call MLU at 23:40 as b2b contractions were far too painful to cope at home with. Dad came over to look after kids and mom came with us. Arrived at MLU at 00:20. I was checked and 5cm dilated at 00:45 and also given pethidine. Gave a push and delivered baby at 1:42am. 7lb 9oz, no stitches and managed to turn baby as she got to birth canal. Darcie has taken to breast feeding very well and loves her sleep (whoop whoop). We were discharged at 7am and arrived home just before 8am as the children woke up. Love her so much already. Xx
