Congratulations Aunty Pickle! I hope you recover quickly, but take it easy for a while. I lost blood but didn't need transfusions, and it was a challenge to do much at all for the first week. Let your lovely hubby look after you :)

Also congratulations to alsomething! I hope she settles a bit better at night for you soon, or even just during the day so you can catch up on sleep!

I can't believe my little man is two weeks old already - the newborn phase really is a blur. And I'm missing my bump already!

Massive congrats Aunty-Pickle and alsomething! Lovely to come back to a couple of birth announcements :D

Sorry I've been a bit quiet. I was off work last Thursday & Friday with horrific headaches :( They've not completely gone, but have dulled enough to brave it back to work today. Paracetamol really is useless!! Got 2 MW apps this week (1 hospital, 1 community) so I'll be sure to mention it to them.

Hope everyone else is doing well :) x

When are your appointments with the midwives? Is it worth giving your midwife a call sooner, Claire? My midwife said if I had persistent bad headaches to give her a call, then she could have a chat and judge if I needed to go in and be checked over.

Thanks Mrs_I. The first appointment is tomorrow, and it's bloods, BP, urine...the full house shall we call it? I was tempted back end of last week to call, but they have definitely got better over the weekend and baby's pattern of movement hasn't changed (they're kicking away right now!), & I generally feel ok otherwise. If it gets worse again today I'll call triage & see what they recommend. I feel like if I could just take a couple of cocodamol it'd knock it on its ar*se!! Thanks for your concern, I'll keep you updated :)

I don't know if anyone is considering using a tens machine during labour but babycare have special offers on the femme tens machine (30.75 from 61.50) online. They also have the popular elle tens for 39.95 from 71.50 if you order by phone. The offer isn't available on the website but I discovered it through live chat with an advisor. Prices are reduced as they are pushing newest machine. At those kind of prices there isn't much difference between renting and buying so a great price if you think you will use it after birth or have another child.
