    Congrats Milly!

Sorry for your loss Downhillfast. :(

Yes JediQuigley - hoping for a water home birth. This one is my last baby (#4) although I'm a little scared that if I need any pethidine I have to be taken by ambulance to hospital - I had assumed the midwife could give it to me. I don't get on with gas and air, it brings on my seizures so I'll have to hope I can get by on paracetamol, the water and hypno birthing or it's off to MLU for me. My mom has been a second birth partner for all my births and she's really excited about the water home birth. Last time, in MLU, we were left to it until my waters went and I started pushing but with a home birth there'll be 2 midwives with me and an ambulance within a mile, on standby so should be pretty safe. Is it the same in your area? I'm in Suffolk.

Anyone else in denial about how soon baby could be here? I'm hoping for 1.5.15 :-) but period type pains that got significantly worse last night freaked me out a little. I did get birthing pool out to check it inflated ok so that's something else done now lol.

Yes similar situation for me, have water paracetamol and hypnobirthing for pain relief plus back up gas and air if needed. Hospital is about a 5 min drive away . Again will have 2 midwfies present although they did warn that if low staff they might ask me to come in, I really hope this isn't the case. This is my second and last baby. First was emergency csection due to failure to progress due to failed induction.

I have fingers crossed for us both.

    Hi Ladies

Could I join you please? Im due 26th July with baby no3 - team yellow :-)
Wendz - im planning a vbac after 2 C-sections, consultants seem a lot more supportive of Vbacs these days compared to when I had my last baby - I really had to go to war with the consultant over that one, and I still ended up with a C-section at 41+1, hopefully this baby will be willing to play ball lol x
What was the reason for both CS'es?
I'm fighting for a BREECH Vbac!! I am either extremeley brave or extremely stupid!! ...

You can decline to come in and it is their legal obligation that they have to send someone out to you ...
  • Congratulations gayleygoo and welcome Missyy76

Not sure whether I'm jumping the gun a bit here but I think things may start happening soon with DW! After getting pains in her back that have been stopping her in her tracks over the last couple of days, she also thinks she may have had a show this morning! Now I know these things don't always mean it's happening immediately but I can't help but feel a bit excited that baby may be on its way soon! With the horrible weekend we had I really need something good to occupy my mind. I have the feeling DW is happy for it to come early for the same reasons... even though she is still working and plans to be until 6 days until due date

My first was failure to progress - I got to 4cm after 3 days of induction - she weighed 10lb10oz and her head was massive so she just got stuck.
My second was planned at 41+1, they didn't want me going much later than that due to size of previous baby, dd2 weighed 10lb0.5.
This one is already looking big but im going to try and hold out until 41 weeks again - im fit and healthy, still going to gym classes 4 times per week so I don't see why I wouldn't be able to give birth naturally xx
Due 26th July, team yellow :D
  • brief update - no baby!
went in as contractions were every 2 mins and lasting 1.5minutes at one stage overnight.
cervix softening but not dilated one little bit!!!!!

given codeine to help with pain. Finally home again to sleep (hopefully).

sry for lack of personals - I'm knackered!!!

Hoping their rubbish centile chart is ... well ... rubbish and wrong :rotfl:

my consultant said they were good at predicting them being small but a but rubbish (his words) and predicting anything in the "normal" to big range. Hopefully true as I'm also predicted >9.5

My c section was failure to progress , got to 9cm and stuck. They think it may have just been position of her head.

Aunty-pickle - hope you get some rest and you start dilating soon.

DHF - good luck to your OH , does sound like it might be the start.
