Congrats lemon tree, lovely name. Enjoy it, they grow too fast :)

Ok so I have a wedding to go to now and I have no idea where to get a maternity dress from that's nice? Suggestions please.

I also have no baby boy name ideas....I like traditional boys names but all the ones I like family or close friends have or they are too popular, Oliver, jack. Henry, Isaac etc. any suggestions?

I also think pick and mix for breakfast is fab, I am slightly addicted to those Dracula teeth and cand sticks which used to be cigarettes.

Freebie was the mattress any good? I was looking at ordering one but wondered how it was packaged. Would you let me know how well wrapped it was? Was it the one delivered by amazon?

Going to have to paint the roon this weekend. Decorator is poorly and we have no family near to help. Hubby's health problems mean he can't do much so looks like my job. I hate paint fumes at the best of time. Gotta be done as spare room is full and got guests out in a couple of weeks. I wish we had family closer.
  • Lemon Tree, I've updated the list above :)

Mr_knight, I got my maternity dress from Next sale a while ago. Not sure if they have anything nice now. I remember my sister getting a nice one years ago from eBay which I think was jojo maman bebe. She went to a wedding at 37 weeks all done up, hair, make up and everything and someone else around the same stage turned up in 3/4 length leggings and a white tshirt!!!

    thank you Mrs C.

I went to a wedding reception two weekends ago and wore a 'normal' dress from Bon Marche which had a nice gather/twist under the bust which helped provide room for the bump, they had quite a few nice ones which were similar but depends on what size you are.

Mr Knight, if hubby had actually been prepared to talk boys names (he never would so it was good we had a girl) my top two names were Edward or Theodore which are pretty traditional, I'm not sure where they stand on the popularity lists. As you can tell from our name choice we weren't too bothered by the list, I figured that when names get really popular people move away from them so hopefully by the time they pull together the list for this year ours will have moved down. But then again with the entire combination of our little girls names it's unlikely she'll meet anyone with the same name.

Congrats Lemon Tree - lovely name choices

It is definitely harder to come up with boys names, think that was part of my disappointment when finding out I was having a boy - I had loads of girls names planned but nothing for a boy. We have decided but going to keep quiet for now.

Mr Knight do you have any friends who might be willing to help out as you have no family near by? Could turn things into a decorating party?!

What haircut did you decide on in the end lilmiss? I have mine short enough to tie up so that it doesn't take ages to wash but is still long enough to put in a pony tail. I have never been that great at hair anyway,so doesn't bother me what it looks like as long as it is out of the way.

There does seem to be a bit of a lull at the moment, think there will be lots more people in the future judging by the other threads

Congratulations lemon tree, enjoy cuddles with your gorgeous wee girl!

Think it's quiet as lots of people have moved to the fb group.

Yeah to mat leave starting Lilmiss!

MrsC - just looking at the list of stuff you've done makes me tired!

Mr Knight - defo try ebay or new look? My friend has a gorgeous one from there that I've borrowed for an awards dinner I'm going to.

Got a wee day off today and I've done very little and feel great for it! I did wash the pram and some baby stuff and tided up the spare room which is quite enough i think!

    Hope everyone is well x
  • Mr knight will let u know when it arrives no wasn't one delivered by Amazon but there's about 4 similar prices and British made so I just picked one in end :)
  • All well at my 36 week appointment. 3/5 engaged and been given syringes to collect colostrum as of 37 weeks if I want to in case I want some back up when the baby arrives. Only slight downer is weeks of left lying and I have a young man lying with his back to the right! Ah well.

I am at a wedding tomorrow. The dress I wore in August I suspect is not going to fit in the bust area so going to try my best with a dress I got from a friend but ebay have lots of nice ones too. I figure if I dress it up with shoes, a fascinator, jewellery, nice hair and a wrap, I should get away with it.

I went for between chin length and shoulder. I like it :D

    Boys names:

    Jack/Jackson
Felix (too like a cat for me)
    Elijah

    Jordan (too Katie Price?)
    Met DH to be 2010
    Moved in and engaged 2011
    Married 2012
    Bought a house 2013
    Expecting our first 2014 :T

  • Congratulations Lemon Tree on little Amelia!:j

Are you after a day time or evening outfit mr-knight? How dressy is it going to be?

There do seem to be less boy’s names than girl’s names.. how about Matthew or Jonathan mr_knight?

My post from a few days ago disappeared into the ether, so hello everyone!

The thighs getting in the way of the bump thing driving was that I normally sit with my knees bent at a less than right angle, so my knees are higher than my bum. So compared to sitting straight in a chair (with knees at right angles), there is less space for my bump. I’ve moved my car seat higher and further back, to give myself more bump room.

view – I normally sleep in that recovery position too – with my bent leg hanging over the edge of the bed. Now I’m just trying to sleep on either side, with legs bent, favouring the left side(although I naturally favour the right side).

How exciting is it to have finished work alioops78? Did your colleagues give you a good send off?

Bless you for getting emotional lilmissreading. I know what you mean, I’ve been working so long without a break, it will seem odd not to go to work – a big lifestyle change!

Freshstart11 – that t shirt made me laugh

I’m sure all the big/small bump comments are just people trying to make small talk, they don’t mean any offence! I’ve had the must be twins comment a couple of times. Now I was measured bang on the right size I’m happy to smile and ignore all the comments!

Yay for your nurseries being finished freebiequennie & angeltreats, that’s brilliant :T Boo to being in pain though angeltreats, hope the doc was helpful

Tia86, I’ve never heard of mothercare expectant parent events, so I’ll check those out! My belly button’s stretched, but still just about there. I wouldn't be ironing kiddy things, they don’t normally crinkle do they? Stupid question, but do you need to wash baby clothes that are straight out of a packet?

Six months today – 3rd trimester starts now!
  • :hello: timeflies and long time no see!

Most people on this forum wash all clothes including new. My friend hasn't and her 3 month old is not suffering. It can seem to provoke heated debate about possible factory chemicals and newborn skin.
