Good luck on your last day. I'm kinda sad that I didn't get one with being signed off for 4 weeks but since I work with 11 guys and 1 girl with only 3 being there at any one time, it wouldn't be quite the same anyway! No longer ...tobe! Ordered cot bed mattress today got a sprung one from Amazon was several for £32-45 which were British made and had excellent reviews so ordered one and used my quidco cash back of £35 to cover cost so that was an added bonus.
30weeks today.
Husband went to aldi in lunch break he brought 4yr old a High back booster as although he weighs enough we are keeping in car seat as long as poss but in husband 3 door car we won't fit baby seat n child car seat n be able to drive it as we are both tall so with a high back booster legs will dangle down n he won't need much space is the plan!
Husband rang to say he also brought a Mr tickle baby outfit, some weaning pots and a box of sz 4 nappies (he had stashed others under cot when he made it the other week so knew we had sizes 1-3 and didn't want me to moan we had loads of x size!!0 -
36week appt over and done with, nice strong heartbeat and still lying over to one side hence the sore ribs. No longer in the notes as 'free' but now '4/5s'. Yay!!!
Have managed to put everything in the loft that I needed to, thank goodness we've got steps! Cotbed mattress in place, a few more things looked out for hospital bag, shelf up in baby's room, started filling the changing box (wouldn't have one but friend gave us it with pram bath and everything else), found more things I haven't washed, and now grabbing 5 mins before I put the carpets in the car and head to town. Feels like loads but haven't done that much at all really!!No longer ...tobe! Married 20/06/13MFW 2021 #117 £5415.40/£6000MFW 2022 #77 £3740/£3000MFW 2023 #82 £0/£30000 -
Wow Mrs C you are on a mission! I don't think I would be able to do all that when I get to 36 weeks.
Lilmissreading you also seem to have lots planned.
Does this mean there is a sudden energy surge towards the end?
I think we may have been over keen in setting up the nursery (I am only 27 weeks tomorrow)..we painted after the 20 week scan and put the cotbed up not long after. Last weekend we moved bits around so think everything is now in the right place. Also washed all the second hand baby bits just need to put them away. Are people ironing baby clothes? I haven't and don't want to based on the amount of stuff we have got!!
Freebie your nappy stash is amazing! I will probably regret not having a ton when the baby arrives but still not sure which brand to really buy.
Has anyone elses belly button really popped out? Mine is noticeable in my work tops, much to the students amusement. For the older ones I keep emphasising the negatives, though think most are put off and think I look the size of an elephant!!0 -
V odd to finish work. Feel like I spent all my life studying to get a job, then getting a job and doing it and now...big change. I hadn't like to assume a baby was in my future so never been something I've looked forward for years iykwim so just adjusting now to the idea.
Felt emotional today - both hysterically happy and tearful
Nice work freebiequeenie - bargains through hubby...
Mrs C it sounds like loads! Good news about engagement and heartbeat :j Got my 36 week tomorrow at 36+4.
Tia can't pretend I feel energetic just that all these things need doing and I sure as hell won't feel like doing them post birth!
*ahem, hangs head in shame and whispers* had cotbed up in room before 20 week scan
Yes I have looked ludicrous for weeks with my belly button!
So quick opinion poll - getting hair done tomorrow as got wedding on Saturday. Do I keep the length - approx half way down upper arm - so can tie up when baby comes or go for chin length bob - quicker and easier to wash/dry but can't tie up and will need cutting sooner?Met DH to be 2010

I'm not sure about the energy surge but I know I feel a million times better and even the midwife commented that she could even see it in my skin that I was feeling better. I'm not so tired/depressed and have even stopped crying on a daily basis. They're still keeping an eye on me though......
Baby clothes....I have ironed this time as I have so many after buying second hand that they seem to fit in the drawers better! It will be the one and only time that I do it though. Got one more load to do with sheets and blankets etc as I got some cellular blankets today at aldi and I kept finding things that I had bought and not washed! Some things will be getting kept with tags on just incase they don't get used, can be easier to sell on! I washed in rounds so I didn't have all the ironing at once, was more like one load a week for 2 or 3 weeks but this included sleeping bags and everything.
I've not bought too many nappies, I do have some Aldi nappies and some Pampers but I don't want to buy too many of one brand as we don't know if they will suit baby's skin. The same with wipes. I have Aldi, Pampers, and some water wipes too.
My belly button has stayed in and just massively stretched. I'm soooo glad about this as I remember from my childhood seeing someone with their popped belly button on show and it gave me the boaks. I've always been the same since! I've been quite lucky in that I've not got any stretch marks either.....yet!

Aww lilmiss, it will probably really hit home next week when you don't have to get up and go to work. Huge pat on the back for sticking it out though, I wish I'd been able to.
Can you believe that I started doing the baby's room at the end of April/start of May? There was a lot to organise in other rooms though and then it took a back seat when things all went upside down at the end of May.
When I got up today my hair was sitting on my shoulders. I've always found that I get very lazy when I have long hair and I just throw it in a bobble. It is now cropped short again at the back and I feel more like me when I look in the mirror! Even the hairdresser comments how nice it was to get me back to the shorter length as she didn't like it long on me! If you still like to tie it up then leave it, otherwise if you want to have 5 minutes for yourself before going anywhere cut it off! I used to love getting mine put up for special occasions, now I get it blow dried by the hairdresser and then turn my head upside down to put my own finish on it! Not exactly MSE.....lolNo longer ...tobe! Married 20/06/13MFW 2021 #117 £5415.40/£6000MFW 2022 #77 £3740/£3000MFW 2023 #82 £0/£30000 -
oooh forgot to say good luck for the vote MrsC! Looks like you and your fellow Scots might be staying which as an English person pleases me as we would miss you! Hopefully there will be a push for more autonomy for Scotland.
First day off and DH wokes us at 5.30am. Bless, start as you mean to go on.
I last ironed ANYTHING in 2010 so that answers that i think.
I wasn't even going to wash anything (slummy mummy, start as you mean to go on) but I have done the same as you and done it in stages as and when we have had some nice weather recently to hang it out.
Yes I am leaning towards shorter hair. Ah the point of being MSE for me means I can choose what I 'waste' my money on (hair, trips out, M&S) and what I don't (credit card charges, high interest charges, utility bills),
Good to hear someone else doing the room that early. People thought we were mad!
So glad to hear you are betterMet DH to be 2010

I live in a divided house lilmiss, I'm a no and DH is a yes. When we woke this morning one of the first things he said was about a knackered country (putting it politely). I responded that it must have been a yes vote then as I thought it might actually have ended up but nope, it went the right way. Only 4 of the 32 council areas in the country voted yes!!!
I don't know what this means for us now, I wouldn't have known either way. What I do know is that one person has succeeded in a campaign of dividing our country by opinions forever. Some of the recent behaviour of 'decent' people has been appalling and I'm surprised there hasn't been more repercussions already. Here's hoping that the future is peaceful! No longer ...tobe!
