Loveactually I'm sure lots if ladies don't feel much by then! It's still early and with an anterior placenta it's normal not to feel much, if anything. Don't be mislead by all those women who claim they can feel kicks from the moment of conception!!

I'm 32 weeks and still not 100% sure what are and aren't kicks. Having said that I did get a cheap Doppler on Amazon. Angel sounds I think it is called. I've used if a few times and it's reassuring but only if you are not a stressy person. I did it about a month ago and couldn't find him as I think the heartbeat can be slightly tough to find when the baby is very big.

    Hi All

I m only 22+ 3 currently will be moving to this thread in couple of weeks but I have a query so thought I will post here.

At my 20 weeks can i came to know that I have anterior placenta and I m still waiting to feel kicks all ladies at my stage are already having loads of kicks which is making me quite worried as I don't feel anything. Can any one advice it is common to not feel movements until this stage.

Hi LA and welcome (soon!) :-)

I have been the absolute QUEEN of worrying about kicks and movement.. probably driven people on here to distraction! All I can say is that I'm nearly 26 weeks this Sunday and don't feel a lot, even now. Perhaps sometimes when I'm lying on my side at night time, very very infrequently during the day... almost unnoticable. So what I would say to you is don't worry too much at 20 weeks. It's still very early for many many ladies, including myself. I felt pretty much nothing, at all up to about 24 weeks... worried myself silly with what I should be feeling. Drove myself to the hosptial and waited for hours and all was ok. Was given leaflets and advice from MW/GP/Consultants that up to between 26-28 weeks many ladies don't feel a thing, or don't recognise they feel a thing..

If the MW/GP/Consultant have found your baby's heartbeat and all is fine then don't worry too much at this stage. If you do feel movement in week/s to come and then things stop altogether or hugely decrease, give your MW a call and try the ice cold drink/lying on your side with zero distrctions for 45 mins and concentrate on what you're feeling. If after that nothing at all - call your support team at the hospital.

Everyone is different. I'm not saying don't worry at all, just that it's still pretty early at 20 weeks.

Hope that gives some comfort. I've just put it down, for me, to having a baby that perhaps is a lazy wee thing ;) or that I just don't feel a lot for whatever reason.

To reassure myself I m planning to buy a fetal heart Doppler did any one use this? Any advice on which one is good?

    Thanks

    Hi LA

I'm now 28 + 4 and am having more squirmy type sensations that full on kicks and like T2D said it's ahrd to work out what a kick, hiccups, etc actually feel like.

I am definitely only just feeling more movement but I have read other ladies on here with an anterior placenta haven't felt as much movement. Wait for a few more weeks and then if the movement hasn't increased ask at your next mw appointment, although my lovely mw asked me about movement and as always if you're really concerned about it contact your mw or hospital.

I don't think I would bother with the doppler but that's just my opinion.

    Hi LA

I didn't buy a doppler because I thought I would stress too much if I couldn't find anything, or if I got too used to it I might think everything was fine when it wasn't and might not learn to read other signs so well if you see what I mean.

I have an anterior placenta but felt movement from 19 weeks, I really wasn't expecting to but everyone is different. I have a very active wriggly baby and at 23 weeks got a bit worried that I hadn't felt anything at all for about 12 hours, so took myself off to the hospital to be checked out. Everything was fine and the midwife said there's still loads of room in there at this stage and if the baby was back to back or just all tucked in somewhere behind the placenta, there's every chance you wouldn't feel movement for a while.

I would think if you've heard the heartbeat and everything else is normal it's not something to be concerned about at this stage.

    Hi ladies

just a flying visit to belatedly announce the birth of our beautiful daughter Ada Elizabeth born 6:20pm on the 6th of August weighing 7lb 6oz at 38+4.

She gave us the runaround until the end to the tune of almost 2 weeks in hospital, one planned C section, one cancelled C section, one failed induction, 18 hours of induced labour and an emergency C section. All is well though and she's absolutely perfect although not quite the whopper we were told she would be!

I can't believe she's finally here and so so beautiful

best of luck to all you ladies

    Purcy x

Congratulations purcy. Hope you and the wee one are all doing well after what sounds like a trying time. Enjoy x

Just noticed this on the forum elsewhere regarding Cosatto Giggle buggy. We were quite interested in this one instore and then I read all the reviews online about how they collapse in the street very frequently. They have been recalled however they're still for sale and it seems like Cosatto aren't doing much to rectify.

Just in case of interest https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/66268845#Comment_66268845

Hello everyone, I've been missing off here for a while so have just been bad over the current page.

    Purcy, congratulations!!!!!

Loveactually, I had an anterior placenta and didn't feel a thing until 23+3. I was lying in a bath on holiday when I first felt movement. Now I'm just fed up of my ribs always getting battered, always on the same side aswell!

Just notified work today that I'm bringing the start of my leave forward and finishing on Friday 26 September, and I'm taking 8 days leave before that and I have next week as leave aswell. That means I'm down to 17 working days. Eek!!!!

    Congratulations Purcy :) Ada's a lovely name.

Only 3 working days left for me - I finish on Thursday. Though I think everyone will be on leave, so it'll be a bit of a strange last day!
