    Congratulations Purcy!! :j:j

Loveactually there is a lady at my Lazy Daisy class who had an anterior placenta and she didn't feel a thing until 35 weeks with her first.

    Hope everyone is doing OK?

Work are letting me work from home until I go on maternity leave which is a result as my back is quite bad now and it's hard to get comfy. I think I may have a bit of sciatica although the doctor claims it's a pulled muscle in my bum cheek. Still no replacement for me and it's not going to happen before I leave now and I'm not meeting my boss until my last day on the 27th August!

I've only got a couple of things left to buy for the baby now. What is everyone doing for bathing? Is it better to have a separate bath or one of those support things?

Also I was bought a moses basket but I need to get a stand. Will any stand fit most baskets?

    33+6
  • Quick stupid/obvious question: the stand is so you don't tread on the baby in the basket, don't have to bend down to the floor, to stop pets from as easily accessing the baby in the basket etc? :o

Lilmiss / Laila we just put the moses basket on our coffee table instead of buying a stand. It's not for long so wasn't too annoying to be without a coffee table downstairs! For us it just reduced the bending down.

We have a bath support which we never used. We just bathed DS in the washing up bowl at first, then a baby bath. It was easier than using our own bath because it had better access all around, and uses up less water.

36 weeks today and bored of being pg already. Hoping that baby won't keep me waiting another 6 weeks!

I'm planning on using our coffee table as well for the moses basket. we have a baby bath but only because we don't have a proper bath, when we gutted our bathroom 2 years ago we replaced the bath with a shower, so now we're going to have to play it by ear as to whether we need to swap back but have been advised to try one of the universal camping plugs in the shower tray when baby gets old enough

I wanted a stand as she will be next to me in the night in the basket and I have a tendency to be a clumsy oaf so was scared I would tread on her

Was thinking a washing up bowl would do the job! Hope your baby makes an appearance soon. I'm bored at nearly 34 weeks so can't imagine how you must be feeling

Pm hope you and your OH are recovering well xxx

    Not exactly,arguing plenty though :(

Wishing all the ladies I 'know' well with there pregnancies xx
  • Thanks for that - figured that was the case!

Yes, I have a lovely space next to me where a moses basket could go but am worried about stepping on him also. There is also just a few steps across the room a large blanket box made of solid wood and I have considered putting the basket on there. Ho hum.

We have a baby bath and inside support that happened to come with some other stuff we bought on ebay.

Have also started emailing DH recipes of favourite and easy dinners. He is a can't cook and while the freezer full will take us so far I am training him up for both our sanity. Therefore he will try everything once now while I am able to answer questions/help in the hope he'll cope when little Mr Man arrives.

Feeling pleased as made a tomato sauce for pizza bases, pizza bases, chocolate bread (in breadmaker as we speak), filled dishwasher, made enchilada sauce, went through freezer, moved all cleaning products from bottom to top cupboard and done some washing up. :)

I thought the stand was also to help with air flow etc to reduce cot death. No idea where I got that from...
