just to clarify I use flexi leave for scans and stuff, but credit back the actual time I'm at the hospital. I'm generally there for about 3 hours with all the scans, midwives, consultants and with a 45 min drive each way to both hosp and work, going to work and then coming home for hubby to go back again isn't viable so I take the whole day off. I was seriously considering getting a sick note a couple of weeks ago as I had a mini breakdown, I didn't get one, which I should have done in hindsight, but did tell my manager that I'd reached my limit. This lead to me working from home two days last week, but I just couldn't do that this week as I needed my dual screens. what really riles is that head of department was in our office today and I felt like he was treating me as if I was a complete moron who didn't know a bloomin thing. talk about kicking someone when they're down.0

hugs tcod don't you just hate it when people ignore warnings and then it's pushed back onto you.0
-
TCOD that is really poo, sorry. I'm trying to think of positives - at least you know full picture now, you've got time to get used to the idea, and you can also cling onto the fact that baby might move still. But still, I know you must be upset. We all have our picture of an ideal birth but I guess it's never going to really go exactly how we want it. Chin up chuck xxx0

Thanks t2d - the reminder was a great idea to put back in Peonie!
Seeing the list also reminded me (am on tablet so scared of doing so and messing it up) that emmaj30 sadly needs to come off according to my 12+ ttc lurking
ah tcod - is it because unlike the rest/most of us your illusion of control is being taken away now? (Birth plans are not worth the paper they are written on it seems for all sorts of reasons!) Because you've had enough medical interventions to last you a lifetime? Because you always had an idea of how giving birth would be ( I always think of women sitting in a bed pushing in a home or hospital and how I don't want that to be me!) Because this is pg and not an illness and could be managed without all this hoopla? Becuse people keep telling you to be grateful and not taking into account you are but that doesn't mean 100% as it's not 100% what you want? Because there's nothing you can do - it's in someone else's hands?
Thanks for the tip. With some difficulty I have found 4 drop in lazy daisy classes near me (basically joining in a non course of people who are just dropping in before they pop). Will hope to join a proper class but will be weeks 33-39 for me which if it works will be great but who knows, so hopefully I can see it there also. On holiday with in-laws so might wait for home before attempting this. FIL's eyes would probably pop out :rotfl: very handy to know. Have tried it in my head!Met DH to be 2010

Phew, glad you do get that time at least.
Yeah hindsight is a wonderful thing. It sounds like you've given them plenty of opportunities to suggest solutions. Do you have any ideas for what might work? Or is it an inflexible situation?Met DH to be 2010

T2D - I hate it when that happens RE emailing about problem. I have had that happen to me and I always try to tell myself to NEVER ASSUME other people are competent! Very frustrating, especially if you are working from home and can't properly explain what's happened to people!
I love how yours, Peonie's and my due dates are one after the other, exactly like our BFPs0 -
 oh my lord how do these people not even have a grain of understanding/empathy
It's quality not quantity - if you dodge interventions but the ones you do have are awful that's what matters. I can have a million smears but if one feels violating/traumatic that's the one that matters.
Take along a poo nappy for that radiographer - pop it on his seat when he's not looking :rotfl:
Like the clip - good times
Not sure there is evidence that c section mummies bond less well than good old vaginal birth? The rest of it I don't know about. Certainly like the old breast versus bottle debate I couldn't look at anyone and tell who's been through what - mum or child. Hopefully that indicates no long lasting effects although I can understand why it's concerning for the early weeks.Met DH to be 2010

Bl**dy hell, was that at the women's? No wonder you hate the place.
It's weird because I only have good feelings about that hospital - but probably only because our outcome was positive.
Have you been watching OBEM? I only started watching it a couple of days ago and it really isn't scary at all! Just thinking that perhaps seeing some of the C-Sections on there might help as they all look like lovely experiences (well, in context!) and the bonding, etc, seems no different to a normal birth. Just a thought. x0 -
