Maybe TMI but I was sat feeling my bump last night, saying to OH how I wondered what my belly would go back like because it just seems to be stretching so much and he said what about your vagina?! Your belly has been stretching over several months and your vagina needs to stretch loads in the space of minutes!! Thanks, that's very comforting  .
  • Hello

Thank you for the pet licking plate responses! As I say I don't have any (guinea pig was the most as a child) so my eyes started out of my head. Seems it's a normal, disusting (to me) habit and therefore like many disgusting but normal habits i shall continue to ignore it (ps don't meant to say I don't have any such disgusting but normal habits just that this one was new to me.)

Also - defo didn't mean to imply any offence wiht hippy-esque vibe if I did. I think my experience has been limited to the medical/clinical way of child rearing so i find it great to hear different perspectives.

robots - I found your mw post really interesting and informative for exactly the reason you said - if I have one I want to know what's going on. SO glad your lovely mw did it. Wally consultant. Also love the pillow case for sheets idea for moses basket! Need a teething ring...

Grrr sleep - up through out the night for no particular reason I can pin down. Though him indoors did start boogie-ing at 5.30am when his daddy had woken me up by looking out of the curtains!

cmace - having concerns about those areas but also my boobs post breastfeeding

Peonie - sorry to hear you're still poorly. Sounds boring and frustrting nad limiting but hope resting is helping.

Teabag - blimey that is a lot of news to hear in one go. Did you laways want six? I am always interested as to whether people have as many children as they had siblings. I was one of 3 and DH one of 2 and we both want that number! Obvs whether that's what we end up with is a different story....
    Met DH to be 2010
    Moved in and engaged 2011
    Married 2012

Useful info Robots. I've had lots of blokes poking around up there (in a medical sense!) and I do find it easier if they are just nicer people you trust. Hope it makes a difference.

I'm increasingly annoyed at consultants in general. At my place I see a different one each time, and they have no idea about what is happening with me. I'm a problem/interesting case so I feel like the doctors like to show off and tell me how little I know. I may not be a doctor, but I am pretty bl00dy expert in my own conditions - more than they know after 2 minutes reading my file.

The only doctors I trust now are the ones in the prematurity clinic who have seen me regularly throughout the pregnancy. I have a bad feeling I will be discharged from them once I get to 30 weeks or so, but I'm going to ask if they can still look after me. Hopefully the interesting'ness will be enough to tempt them.

My c-section is also going to be really complex according to my surgeon. I'm no longer at the same hospital so I can't have him doing it, but he said I have so much scar tissue and badly placed fibroids that they have to be really careful. Plus they need to try to not damage the cerclage that is in place so I can use it again (with some secondary support that will be put in later). I'm scared I'll have some junior numpty who will make a mess of it!

    Debt-free and Proud!

Skintchick - you're so pro natural and instinctual birthing and baby things it's nice to know a little more about you - I had you pictured as an eco-warrior hippy ha ha ;)

Well, I probably am in my outlook and approach, but I'm not in the way I appear!! After I had DD my mate bought me some birkenstocks as a jokey comment. I just believe very strongly in women being given all the information so they can make their own informed decisions. I think so often doctors etc. don;t actually tell us everything we need to know before we decide things.

I've forgotten now who else I was going to reply to! Is it teabag who has her date? I think it was. Very exciting! And positive about the blood transfusion stuff too. Sounds like you're being well looked after.

Nothing going on here: had a nap earlier as am so tired. Going to Richmond tomorrow to see In the Night Garden Live with a friend and our children. I won a contest to get free premium tickets, a meet the character experience and goody bags so it's pretty much free (we're taking a picnic) apart from travel and drinks and should be a nice thing to do although DD is grown out of ITNG really, she's still excited because she loves live theatre. Will make sure I take my notes although at 35 weeks think I am OK!

Sitting here this afternoon marvelling at how many of you were posting so late on last night. I was in bed at 8.30pm again!!! Struggling to keep my eyes open just now and my dad might be coming to stay the night so sondering how I'm possibly going to stay awake to speak to him!
Also this weekend in the local gala and also one of hubby's many events he organises. I have a stand to do juices aswell as promote my Partylite business. It's going to be another busy couple of days and I'm dreading it!

Plate licking.....unless it's spicy food our springer spaniel gets what's left whether it's in her bowl or on the plate. She's very good and even when you put the plate down for her she wong touch it unless you tell her. Sometimes I've seen me giving her a slice if toast and butter and I've had to pick it up and physically put it in her mouth! Unreal!

I seem to have gone back to me sleeping pattern from the first trimester. Asleep by 10pm but have a broken nights sleep then knackered all day! Oh well the 2nd tri was good while it lasted.

I hope the weather picks up for you, not sure where you are but it has been raining all day here in South Yorkshire

I agree and was thinking of the way may midwife said 'you will need to book the whooping cough vac, ideally it is done between 28-32 weeks' although I intended to have the vac I though I about the way she said it as if I did not have a choice...

Also whilst on the subject of mw, does any of yours pull down your clothing to measure from the pubic bone? I noticed in the notes that is how its suppose to be done but my mw does it with my over bump trousers pushed down to top of pubic area after listening to heartbeat, so wondered if it was as accurate.

  • Ho ladies

Just wanted to pop in and say hello quickly.

I've not been around really since moving to this thread but as some from the previous one will know hubby and I were both put at risk of redundancy just over a month ago.

Good news is we've both got jobs - phew and even better news is I've been promoted. At 6mths pregnant I can't quite believe it!!

Currently on hols but will catch up properly when home.
