Evening all,
Have been to my midwife appointment and it turns out I was right in thinking baby had dropped. Turns out she is 2/5 engaged!!! What I found even more shocking is that 5/5 engaged is basically before baby drops meaning she is nearly in position!!! She also mentioned that I will be unlikely to go to 1/5 as that usually happens in labour. Not that any of this means anything, she will still come whenever she chooses to come.0 -
anybody else suffering with pain down there?! last time I went to the midwife I mentioned it and she said it was PGP (pelvic girdle pain) and to just let her know if it got any worse because it only used to hurt after I'd done a lot of walking or been on my feet a lot. this week though it is a lot more painful
I think it might be because I'm working in a nursery at the moment...I'm sitting on those teeny chairs designed for 3 year olds ha and getting up and down a lot but there are no other chairs! went to the shops with my OH before and he said I was walking funny but that's because it's hurting!
hope everyone's doing okay0 -
Jen I hope the tour went well. I do have a demanding job but I'm off with my son this week as it's half term, dreading to think what will await me when I go back next week!
If I work right up to the birth I won't have to pay out as much childcare thr other side of having the baby so I'm having to keep going, but ideally I'd love to be at home then I'd have more time to study for my exams before she arrives.
FF I'm getting a lot of pains too, they're like sharp twinges quite low down in my bits and they're really random. I'm a bit worried that it might be a sign that the birth is not far off, I can't afford for her to come yet! :eek:0 -

Happily Married since 20160 -
well - finished work last week so am starting to get on with things!! Started to clear the spare room/toy room yesterday - huge job. Got to go to the skip today and also go and buy some storage boxes and paint. We are just going to paint the room cream and decorate with stickers post birth.... Room needs to serve as toy storage as well as there is just no spare room in the girls bedroom.
Still feeling pretty yuk - had my iron levels taken again last week and they had ever so slightly risen to 10. Midwife not satisfied though - but I am sick if I take an iron tablet so am currently drinking x2 spatones a day (knowing that there is not enough iron in them) Feel breathless at times and tired..... but not helping myself really as don't fancy any iron rich foods!! At least baby is getting the iron I have got:) its just me suffering.
Hope everyone is feeling as well as they can x0 -
Yesterday I had a tiny white spot on my eyelid, one of those that looks invisible but feels like someone lodged a bit of gravel in your eye.
Today, I look like I've lost a pub fight - the ideal look for a barrister on her way to court! One red, puffy, nasty-looking punched eye........much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
sophiasmum I have problems with Iron too - my last count was 7
and I hate taking the tablets too.
I was told by midwife if your anemic during birth it can lead to complications so i'm making an extra effort to take them and iron rich foods (yak)
I know it might be frowned upon by many... but I even had a Guinness shandy last week - my first taste of alcohol in what feels like years!0 -
Marywooyeah - I am feeling pain down there as well. Went to see the midwife and that is completely normal for our stage of pregnancy. Its not a sign of early labour apparently (had my midwife appointment on Monday). Because baby is now on the move down and becoming engaged things are stretching and getting tight. Chances are baby is sitting on all sorts of nerves and things. I wouldn't worry about it too much xxx0

Thank you Vicky that's reassuring, I just don't recall having pIns like this last time and am finding it quite uncomfortable
I've been feeling pretty irritable the pastfew days but luckily my OH is being very nice about it. Although he doesnt want to have sex at all as he says my belly is getting in the way! I'm taking it with a pinch of salt though, there's no way he'll hold out for another five weeks and then a few weeks after the birth! :rotfl:
I got a lovely Winnie the Pooh cotbed today, bargain at £30! I've been stocking up on nappies too, asda have big boxes of little angels nappies for £5. The size 1 boxes have about 80 in them, then I got 3 boxes of size 3s which had about 45 in.
The house is beginning to look like a mothercare stockroom!0 -
Hi Ladies,
I am now offically not returning to work until at the latest April 2015!
I am on holiday for two weeks so I will use this time to get my Uni work completed (wishful thinking maybe).
I will have a break on Saturday because I need to finish my hospital bag. I also have money to go and pay off our pram at the shop - I might bring the car seat home. Leave the rest there until baby is here.
It is beatiful here today sun is shining I hope it stays like this.
Must be some babies en route soon lots of ladies at the top of the list - for those who are overdue or nearly due sending labour vibes!
I have been feeling tired but nothing an hours nap doesn't sort. Sometimes I flag about 6pm but we get up at 6 in our house so I guess its because of that.
Sorry a few of you are feeling uncomfortable. When I went to see the Midwife a week ago she said baby is 3/5ths engaged but could pop back out as 2nd babies sometimes do but that she can not see that happening as I am quite small and her legs are right up by my ribs.
MIL washed all the baby clothes for me and bedding which was very kind of her; saved me the massive job so all put away; materess for the cot arrives today so OH said he will put the cot up!3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:
