I hope your back is better soon, Toots! That's miserable
But happy viability!
My plan for 4 day weeks has been approved! With the caveat that I cannot be off at the same time as my boss (which is fine, I'm second-in-command....but also odd, because in 9 weeks I won't be there for one entire year.......So they need to learn to survive without me for a day!!)
Ended up back in triage last night with a lazy baby. He had barely moved all day. And by the evening - usually his favourite time to have a huge wriggle - he was still barely moving, off I trotted. Midwife was, once again, lovely, and I sat on a trace for 30 mins. His heart rate was fine, but he still didn't move... until about half one in the morning when he suddenly got hiccups (hiccups are SO LOUD on a trace!!) and then went wild. And has been wild all day today as well - is kicking my arm off my stomach as I write this. They do like to test our nerves, these little ones!0 -
Bosscout - glad little one is ok - they do like to frighten us don't they. And hooray for four day weeks (though as you say, they'll have to learn to cope without you for a lot more than a day very soon)
Finally got my growth scan and consultant appointment last Wednesday (after midwife chased again and has made a complaint about how long they kept me waiting for the growth scan - should have been within 72hours apparently but it was almost a week after she'd requested it). All is good, baby is measuring at 50th centile even if bump isn't and there's a normal amount of fluid and the doppler flow was fine. Consultant not concerned about anything and just wants to see me again at 38 weeks in case of any changes, but all being well I can stay under the midwives.
Still, ended up in triage after work myself yesterday as after a very active day on monday baby decided to have a rest yesterday, still moving at fairly regular intervals but not as often or as vigorously as it had been. They didn't make me feel silly at all and I spent about half hour on the monitor listening to baby's heart beat (all normal) and waiting for it to wake up and kick about (which it finally did). Today it's kicking and squirming like anything again so I don't know if that's just its own unique pattern to have a busy day then a quiet day - will probably still get any future quiet days checked out though (I feel so paranoid all the time).MFiT challenge #60

Hi Afoolandhermoney - glad everything is okay and you can stay under MW care!
Definitely have quiet days checked out - two people in groups I'm in have now had emergency c-sections after a 'quiet day' was monitored and turned out baby was in distress. Both doing just fine now, despite being born early. But just goes to show it's 100% worth going in for monitoring. You know your own baby best.
I've had a week of needles - Whooping cough, GTT and Anti-D! Waiting on the GTT results now...fingers crossed all clear! Sproglet isn't measuring big, so I'm very cautiously hopeful.0 -
How we all doing?
Rubbish here! My waters broke on Friday morning at 4am exactly 27 weeks pregnant. Had a scan and baby is measuring a week ahead with low/average levels of waters surrounding him. I've been given 2 doses of steriods but no contractions and all monitoring of the baby has been great so I've been sent home on bed rest with antibiotics.
I've got to go to hospital twice weekly for blood tests and a scan to make sure everything still okay. If i can keep baby happy until 36 weeks they will deliver then. Been a long weekend and a lot to take in but I'm getting there0 -
Oh no Toots how are you feeling about it all? Are you going to finish work now then? I am 25+3 today so not far behind you x0

Yeah I've been off sick since July with my bad back. I'm meant to be in this week then next but told them no chance. My holidays start 4th September with maternity starting 1st of October so I defo won't be back!
Think I'm just a bit nervous about everything. Trying to get my head around it all with a 2 year old as well. Especially when I'm the one meant to be looking after her Thursday and Fridays when she's not at nursery. Just pleased baby is happy for the time being but know that can change in a matter of hours is scary too.
If i go into labour before next Friday I will be transferred to a hospital 3 hours away as the one closest isn't equipped for babies before 28 weeks. That's stressing me most I think.0 -
oh Toots, how scary. Hope baby stays happy and "in doors" for a bit longer, but try not to stress about it. The other hospital might be a fair distance away but it would be the best place for you both if things do happen sooner.MFiT challenge #60

Oh Toots, that must be very stressful. I hope little one stays put for a bit longer. Have my fingers crossed for you.0

How are things, Toots? Thinking of you. xx0

Baby still hanging in there. I'm 27w 5d today. I'm back in hospital though with severe anaemia so had 2 blood transfusions last night to get levels up. I have another scan on Friday for growth and fluid but next milestone to reach is 32 weeks!0
