Congratulations Firebird!
Fingers crossed for baby Newthrift!
Does anyone have any tips on when you know the baby is head down? I'm still feeling the baby 'across' my belly- it kicks one side and stretches the other?!! I'm looking forward to going to the midwife next week to find out where it's position is- I know it can move but I keep reading that they are usually head down by now.0 -
Congratulations Firebird!! Hope you and baby firebird are doing well
Fingers crossed, newthrift.
Moreofthegoodstuff - I was convinced mine was lying across my belly because of my movements at both sides, even though the midwives were telling me that he was head down. Turns out, he was just really, really long and didn't have much room!
When the health visitor measured him, he was off the scale for height.0 -
Oh that sounds good sweetbabu, hopefully that will be the case and baby will be head down and getting ready0

Well I have definitely had my 'show', and apart from some strong/sharp pains when it must be pushing further down and hit and miss period style pains nothing else is happening atm.
moreofthegood I was like SWEET, thought baby still lay across but was head down and they just keep saying its long and is curled round, so hopefully baby will be head down.Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Finally allowed home today, once feeding and jaundice sorted, such a relief! We still haven't decided on a name...
Newthrift - promising stuff, hope it gets a move on and that everything goes smoothly for you.
Moreofthegoodstuff - I thought baby was transverse for ages because if movements like that. Turned out she wasn't at all, the movements just weren't the bits of her that I thought they were! Midwives will start checking and telling you eventually, although even they can be fooled!0 -
If you are really concerned about position - push for a scan. I'd always been a bit unsure and a couple of midwives ummed about it, but it was only at nearly 39 weeks I had a scan and he was breech. I was very lucky and had a successful version to turn him but with hindsight I wish I'd pushed for it earlier0
