Fire- I took my bag in but hadn't really realised I'd need two days of stuff to labour/ faff around waiting to labour in. Take snacks. Take stuff to read. It's boring and really not much more than period pain on my part. Take whatever you need to help you sleep and rest. I didn't do that enough

Baby's bag stayed outside til after birth but then we had a long time skin to skin and the car was about 40m away max.

So difficult to keep a track of everything when you're replying on your phone.

I wasn't on the TTC thread, but I'm glad to hear things are working out for you, keekee.

    Welcome to the thread x

Congratulations arbrighton glad you are both doing well and now home.

Welcome keekee, I remember you from the TTC thread, and glad to see you here :)

I have been having a look online for post partum essentials, I don't know if any of you have any recommendations too?
I've seen a couple which I think are good and some which are just simple but very good ideas.
Thermal mug - so no keep having to warming up cuppas
    Stock up on tea bags/coffee/sugar/biscuits
Plenty of cereal bars/healthier snacks to just grab

Re clothing, I'm doing a mini order for some basics which will come in handy - another pair of loose trousers, pj bottoms and slippers as I have just rid my old ones.
penguin thank you for the can I breastfeed in it, facebook page suggestion. I've joined and it is now taking great restraint not to purchase haha. It is really good seeing how many non-nursing/maternity clothes can work or be slightly altered to work for feeding.

Sorry, I was going to update the list but for some reason I can't quote it to be able to edit, it's possibly just me not doing it right.
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Congrats arbrighton! Welcome to Harry :) I like the name too - but I might be biased as it's my husband's name...

Jasmine is a week old today and super cute. Her head shape is settling down from birth. Ventouse mark and scabs are all disappeared and the rest of the 'conehead' is also evening out. The stork marks around her nose and eyes are also resolving. Been out a few times (never one to spend much time at home - get cabin fever very easily!). Went to my grandma's 90th garden party on Saturday and got a great picture of Grandma, Grandpa and their 9 great grandchildren including the newest born! Jasmine won't be the youngest for long - my cousin is expecting another little girl in October.

Hoping to give her her first bath this evening as her cord stump fell off today. She was screaming so we thought we'd change her to calm her down and found the cord stump and its clamp at the back of her romper - no wonder she was so uncomfortable! Hope everyone still waiting gets some action soon and hope others are enjoying their bundles of joy :)
Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Debt free date 04/12/2015.
Enjoying sending hundreds of pounds a month to savings rather than debt repayment!

Congrats to all on the mini-baby-boom in here!

I'm jumping the queue on Wednesday - had my pre-op this morning and all is set for a c-section first thing Wed. Scarily close now, so madly dashing to get everyone packed and sorted. Most excited that they offer something called "enhanced release" which gives the potential that we could be out on Thursday - the extra night in hospital last time was mahoosively stressful, so if it's safe would love to be back in my own bed by Thursday night. DH not so keen as think he was having flashbacks to me trying to discharge myself while high as a kite on morphine last time! :D Have agreed we'll play it by ear...

Poor toddler is wandering around telling everyone he meets "dis my mummy!" - he knows there's something up!
