Congratulations Snow, such a lovely name.

Another one who doesn't like the heat. He just sleeps and eats. That and boseys. He will not settle if you put him down. Not that I mind in the slightest :) but getting to the toilet can be slightly difficult :rotfl:

Firebird hopefully you'll go before your induction.

Not long now for the rest of you, hopefully your finding ways to cope in this heat.

Our bedroom is sunny side of house. Solid brick walls = storage heater. HORRID last night so I went and hid in the spare room. Also, having put the sidecar crib up then my bladder deciding to feel like I needed to go every ten minutes was a bit awkward.

Spare room on N side. Noticeably cooler, much better.

Just about to take dogs out briefly, then they'll go down to the river later.

    Two more days :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

firebird hope you go before induction but must be a bit of relief having a date and knowing the end is very much in sight.

arbrighton I was hoovering and mopping yesterday also haha, I just kept doing bits at a time and having a good sit down between jobs. Ooo not long to go, good luck for Thursday, have you got everything packed and ready?

Yesterday was awful in terms of the heat, but last night me and DH sat out until 10.45 and it was the perfect temp, just like being abroad at night.
Going out with a friend for lunch tomorrow and thinking of nipping to town in a bit just for a change of scenery. I'm finding it so weird not doing much and it's only day 2
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Morning all. First baby-interrupted night of sleep! But no loo trips! Will not miss that particular late pregnancy symptom. And I can now sleep on my back again and manoeuvre more easily!

It's scary being in sole charge of a little one... she cried at least once every hour last night. Seemed to settle when I put my hand in the crib and soothed her but then started wailing again when I removed my hand. I am hoping (naively?) that as she will settle for much longer on the hospital bed than in the crib that she simply doesn't like the very hard mattress. So hopefully our nice soft mattress in the crib at home will solve that problem...

Managed two 20-min feeds over night which I hope was enough. I did offer almost every time she wailed but was rejected the rest of the time. One of the cries was definitely a dirty nappy. So hard to know what all the cries mean! Hopefully with DH there as well tonight if we get discharged it will be easier. He also seems to be a bit of a baby-whisperer and was able several times yesterday to settle her very quickly.

Fingers crossed they will let us go home to a cooler house (both dying in the heat of the hospital here on second floor with only a fan) within the next few hours!

Yep all packed newthrift although I think had better put another clean t shirt etc in for DH

Thankfully temperature is meant to drop on thursday, not that it will make any difference to hospital temps I guess!

It's the Cheshire show this week and I'd maybe have considered it tomorrow if it were cooler (can't today as I'd be stuck in traffic rather than making my midwife appt!). NEXT YEAR. Hopefully I'll be up for Tatton Flower show with bean though

Oh gosh the Cheshire show will be super sweaty today. It's OH's birthday and often lovely weather (we usually have this week off work)

Snow- J didn't feed much the first 24 hours and was very sleepy, that's normal. I found the feeding increased rapidly at about 48hrs (when I fed almost constantly from 2am to 7am). And day 3 was awful as my milk hadn't come in and he was super hungry. But it has got better. He still feeds loads, but we've had support from the local breastfeeding group and his latch is getting better. Difficulties with that peaked about days 5-12. Someone put this on Facebook today and I found it quite useful http://www.thealphaparent.com/2011/12/timeline-of-breastfed-baby.html?m=1 also the wonder weeks app warns you of 'leaps' in baby's development. I think we at getting close to hitting one... Our sling (close caboo nct) arrived yesterday and J slept in for an hour after tea. It was the best bedtime we've had! He didn't sleep more, but we had no crying upstairs and he was lovely and chilled out.

Last appt with midwife done. Bump still ahead but no more so than it was, and same line as growth scan.

Blood pressure lower than at booking in, in this heat. NO idea how!

As I thought, head well down in pelvis.

    So bring on induction.

Sadly, almost certainly won't be this midwife who does postpartum visits as she's on hols next week/ doesn't do weekend. And is moving base anyway so that would have been an end to continuity of care if I did get to due date....

About to go to the rowing club. See a few folk and collect a raffle prize. Sounds odd but one of the gold medal winning eight learnt at our club and has donated some kit and somehow I won it. So let's find out if 95kg man kit fits 38 week pregnant lady...............

Also weighed myself today. I've put on more than ideal but not as much as i feared- about 2.5 stone and A LOT of that will be baby/ fluid/ placenta I reckon. But a truly terrifying total number

Snow, I put on more than 4.5 stones

Went out today wearing my jeans though - it was so nice to wear proper clothes.

Got the forms to register Jack at GP and sorted a few bits and pieces in town. Still can't find a pram umbrella locally though, So it'll be another trip to the shopping centre.

Oh yes I am loving wearing non maternity clothes. I picked up a load of bf-friendly clothes yesterday that are summery. For anyone bf-ing there is a Facebook page called 'can I breastfeed in it?' where people post clothes they've found- lots of ideas of things to wear and something to look at during the night feeds!
