I have to say I am proud of our NHS and GP's I had a stroke at 46 last year and the treatment from the outset and the continuing treatment is fantastic I cannot fault the caring and compassionate health service we have .0

This is when the NHS comes into its own - emergency and end of life situations. The care provided to both my grandmas was second to none, and enabled them to spend their last days with dignity.0 -

I totally support your view. If nobody took any action these professionals would walk all over us. They already do. There are lots of good doctors and veterinary surgeons but it is is hard to take the bad once out the the system. Lets face it, there are always going to be the bad once in every profession but if the system allows them to practice we will suffer and more lives will be lost. Good for you for making that complaint. :T0 -

Was taken ill in the US in March and taken to hospital. Spent the first hour on a trolley in a corridor. Total bill for eight hours of tests and the ambulance trip $22,000 and completely covered by my insurance, so the equivalent of private treatment over here.
I had private treatment here for a major operation a few years ago and the whole experience was vastly superior to the US. My private treatment in the US was equivalent to what we all get here, so no it's not better.
Only hour on a trolley? Thats a luxury for the NHS.0 -

I had a very poor experience at my doctors surgery with receptionist . I spoke to the doctor at my appointment ( I'd also been told the practice manager wasn't in) . He summoned the practice manager to speak to me and the complaint was resolved very satisfactorily.i felt strongly that no one else should be treated the way I was, so I flagged it up with them.
You do have to take responsibility for your own health.0 -

Well nobody in my family has ever waited an hour on a trolley at an NHS hospital. Also the hour I spent on the trolley in the US was for private treatment, so again no the US system is not better than ours.It's someone else's fault.0
