Budgeting Service?

  • Lol yeah, so WHY both posting??? If you've read the WHOLE two threads, then why being so unhelpful as to post something that is going to make the situation worse for me. That is exactly how I feel...just why bloody bother?? !!!!!!

Anyone, contrary to what everyone seems to think there is a service that provides budgeting help and can sort out my bank accounts, pay my rent and other bills, DDs and SOs for me. Have been in contact with them for the last two days, just filled out all the forms and waiting for my LL to confirm from his end and then I can go ahead with everything.

As per previous helpful posts I've also contacted my LL about paying the rent a few days late in March and April and so paying it in full. Am going to pay for fuel, water and food but nothing else.

Contacted Thomas Cook about my holiday [waiting for a reply], looked into selling the car [waiting to hear from various people] and teenage daughter is on the eBay case to sell what we can.

Have spoken to my family and the kids' dads and have some more help with their birthday parties, so that will be minimal (if any) payments from me.

So, I do listen and I do take on advice from helpful people. I just don't like being insulted and picked on/bullied by people who should know better as "everyone" seems to have been in my situation at some point!

Thanks so everyone who helped - I finally feel like I'm getting myself sorted :)

Having just spent an hour or so reading through this thread how just like to point the OP towards a budgeting software program called YNAB. Whilst this is not a free program there are plenty of instructional videos and help guides on how to create your own budget and how to manage that budget.

The software has a free demo 34 days which I've used and found very interesting. I haven't bought the full software yet simply down to cash flow problem will feature. OP why not take a look, view some of the videos and see if that helps. All the best!

Thanks so much - just reading up on it now - looks like something that will help with my long term problems :) x

Thanks :D There were quiet a few people who have posted during the last seven pages, quite clearly stating that a service such as the one I original posted about doesn't exist and that I just need some self control and need to get myself together.

I really don't to go back through and read all the posts again as I've only just stop shaking from the barrage of insults I got on Sunday [lol]...

Feel free to try and find them though...

Just remember wtih Think Money, get out as soon as you dont need it any more so you dont keep paying their fee.

Your short term problem appears to me to be a case of cash flow with so many different dates when money comes in and different dates for mony going out.
Once you have this under control everything will seam much clearer.
If you follow the advice on the DFW board thread by LittleMissGiggles123 you should have the short term problem sorted fairly quickly.

I forgot to thank you for your post :) it really cheered me up that someone recognised that the problem was the same one as I thought it was. Anyway, seem to have got myself sorted for the next few month so can at least get through to loan day and then review that and plan for the summer :) am gonna have to work on a four month cycle until I graduate.

    Thanks again x

So who does provide the service, and how much are you paying them for it?

Then you have just identified your real problem. It isn't advice or information you are short on - its self control. Unfortunately, there is not much that others can do to help with that. If you know what you should be doing and don't do it others are not going to be able to save you from the consequences of your own decisions.

Hopefully, you will have your LBM one day and things will change.

But then when I ask for help and in the area I know I need help with i.e. this one and asking for a service where someone can help with the self-control and teach we what to do, I get seven pages of more or less every post like yours.

    Extremely helpful.

    Thanks

Haha, I would never be stupid enough to put the actual details on here - I'll be inundated for numerous "helpful" posts on advice about not using them, how it's all my fault anyway, I don't have any "long" term plans etc etc.

why do you want to know? do you want to use them to? Or you just don't believe me??

It's a charity so the account costs me £1 a week. I expect that's probably too much for all of you to consider paying, but that's fine for me as it's a charity and set up to help local people like me. It was recommended to me by a local debt company I contacted yesterday.

Come on, then. I'll brace myself for all the insults...

Very strange that you think you can't name the charity.
