Budgeting Service?

The only thing in your "list" which I've said I wouldn't compromise on was the kids' birthdays and I think people seem to have got the wrong end of the stick and think I'm spending £100s on them.
I've already said I'll cancel the holiday and am happy to do without anything on the "weekend" (?) and do without my plonk.
So, what's your point?
my point is that you already know what to do but don't do it.
would you give up your CCs and your debit card and your total income to a budgetary service and accept only the weekly cash that they gave you?
clearly the 'only' thing you don't compromise isn't just the kids birthdays otherwise you wouldn't be where you are.0 -

Do you have other background skills to back it up?
crafting only buy with money you make from what you sell.
wow thanks for the support and this is gonna sound really rude but, apart from raising kids for the last 15 years while their dads went off and worked their way up the career ladder, I have no skills. This is one of the reasons I am not working. I could only do a minimum wage job, which wouldn't cover my rent, even with tax credits as I think wouldn't get housing benefit.
I went through it in minute detail with every official person I could find I was better and ready to go back to work. I could not find a job I could do which would enable me to support my kids.
Also, am not sure what "kids" you know who design websites for free, but if they're like the awful ones I've seen, then the market could do with some proper, qualified talent

I know many web designers : some do very well financially although they do work very hard and it is a crowded field.0 -

Ok I absolutely would give up all my cards and just deal with cash. That is exactly the service I want - did you read all of my posts?? I have been asking for that all day and been told that this service doesn't exist and I need to be able to "trust myself" and "manage my own money". I have freely admitted that I have no self control and need more help.
I am making the changes from now, from today. I have a list of all the changes I have taken on board from the suggestions today - such as selling my car, cancelling my holiday, changing tv and mobile provider and more.
There is one thing I would not compromise on and that is it. I think after all of the suggestion from today, that it's really interesting for you to pick up on the one I wouldn't compromise on. lol.0 -

ok, so now everyone wants me to start a new degree? What would everyone suggest I change to? I'll just add another £9,000 onto my debt and add another year until I can go and get a job. lol.
Yes, it's a saturated market. It needs to be, 80%+ of the websites out there are so awful they literally hurt my eyes. I am more than willing to work hard and I love what I do. I figured it's about time I did something I wanted to for a change and I also thought that I might do better in a field I enjoyed and one where I wouldn't have to pay for childcare, because I could stay at home with the kids during the holidays and pick them up from school. Giving them a proper home life and all that. Of course, I could always go and do something else. Answers on a postcard...
TBH I might set up a budgeting service!!0 -

you have totally missed the point
it is WHEN do don't stick to the budget you THEN use the EXCUSE
of the children to overspend
an alcoholic looking for some-one to stop them drinking: there is only one person who can do that0 -
Good for you for trying to better yourself for your kids with doing a degree. I think you should find a local group for single parents or find out if your Uni I has a social group for people your age.
I don't think any advise you're given on here is going to change the way you manage your money but if you find a circle of people in the same boat that you can talk to on a regular basis you may find it easier to start diving things differently. All that glitters is not gold.0 -

and I think you have missed the point that I have not been sticking to a budget! That's why I came here.
You're dooming me to failure before I've even started. Am sure I saw somewhere on the forum banner that this forum is for support and help, not judgment. Do you want me to screenshot it for you?
Also, am not sure whether your accusing me of being an alcoholic or comparing me to an alcoholic. Both of which are wrong on so many levels and extremely bad taste.0 -

thanks very much
. Am not sure there's anything like that at Uni or in the area - it's quite middle class and twitchy curtains IYKWIM. They try and hide as single, benefit mums as much as possible lol.
I'll ask around
have started a knitting/craft club to be held at my house from this week which will be nice [and free!] might even turn that into a bit of a side earner

I can only wish you well and that life turns out for the best and your children grow and prosper; and I'm pretty sure they will.
and good luck0
