very strange that you think it's strange...0 -
Im not going to post any insults, how long you planning to use the service for ? What if it doesn't work out ?
I haven't thought that far ahead. I only met with them this morning. I can't see that it won't work out, and I really don't have any other options at the moment.
Also, I can use them long term. The man I spoke with said that it's no problem to stay with them and get them to help as much as I want. It's just an extra level between the money in my account and automatic payments going out without me having to be tempted to spend.
TBH, I just need a few months of having no cash to spend and getting my bills paid. Then, I feel confident that I can carry that forward, with some help and a bit of confidence in that area.
Thanks for your post

You can make it work and hopefully the charity will do this.0 -

LOL ! I guess it will…tbh there is a learning curve with it but once you get the hang of it then it sort of all falls into place. Main thing is you don't wait until pay day to start budgeting. You start budgeting with what you have. Then as it says on the tin, "give each [pound] a job"
Having read your other thread it dawned on me halfway through that February is a short month - 28 days - and that wouldn't help if you receive income on a 31 day calendar basis. Anyhow pleased to hear you finally got a solution to the immediate problems.
By the way. I agree on not going to CSA. Chances are you'd end up with £5 a week or less !! However how long as your ex being paying that amount? In other words is he due to pay more? Maybe that is something you could consider.0 -

Sigh, what an abrasive reply. You come over like an extremely selfish person.
I am out.0 -

Actually she I think she comes across as a person who is fighting hard to provide for her kids and her home. Against a set of circumstances that many of us would crumble. Yep, some of the comments are not all sweet and buttery but then she wouldn't have got to the position she's in now without some grit and determination.
Well done Angelpie. Keep fighting and start to focus on your budget the best you can.0 -

and you come over as an arrogant and bullying individual.
You don't know me or anything about me. lol. If you don't like what I say, then feel free to leave my thread!

Well thank you very much!! :T:T:T:T couldn't have said it better myself!
Of course, I am! That's all I want to do lol. Provide and work for my kids.
Not that anyone has actually asked, but not all of this debt was built up by me alone. I am not responsible for the fact that I am single mum of three and I am not responsible for being unemployed. I have made some silly decisions and bad choices over the years and take full responsibility for those that I have done.
The situation I found myself in has brought me to my knees many times over the last two years but I keep strong for my children and do what I can.
It's nice to be recognised for that so thank you from the bottom of my heart

If you can't work and do your uni course, is it time that you thought of dropping out of uni and getting a job (any job at minimum wage) until such time that you're back on your feet and able to look at uni again?
Or could you get a part time job evening time and ask your 16yr old DD to babysit for a couple of hours? Could she get a job and then she would be able to help with her bus pass and clothes etc?
I know you say you want a life and money isn't the be all and end all, but once your money is sorted it's so much easier to enjoy that life - at the moment you aren't enjoying it because the money issue is getting in the way
I don't know, I'd be tempted to start a bit of pressure on the dads, as they clearly aren't contributing enough, and in one case, withholding £10k that's your money. I know it's a bit of a ball ache but you might have to start trying to access that money.
If you can't work because of a "complete psycho" illness, then this would presumably entitle you to benefits? That's what the welfare state is for - to help those who aren't able to help themselves for a good reason - I work in mental health and many clients access benefits and not always long term either. I know some people have a mindset against benefits but in this case they may be helpful?0 -

Well, that's not quite true is it?
We know you're nearly 36, £30k in debt, single mum of three kids from two different dads, and have a "complete psycho" type illness.
This really is a car crash of a thread.0
