I'm so angry for you daisy egg! I really hope that it was nothing for concern and your MW is better than the hospital. Try to relax as the stress and anxiety can trigger more problems xxx0

sending more hugs Daisyegg hope they could find a hb but as said by someone else if they can't don't panic, they always seem to struggle to find my babies hb which does make me panic but deep down I know it's just likely that the little beasty is playing silly b's.0

oh and we have a dog who will be one next month and two cats, the dog sleeps in the kitchen, OH was suggesting that we stop locking the stair gate on the kitchen on a night but I pointed out it will be handy when baby comes along. The problem has been the cats, they have been very sulky since the dog arrived, one has finally moved back downstairs but the other will only be upstairs or outside, she won't be anywhere else. Unfortunately the cats were living in the craft room which is now to be the nursery which is why we've had to shut them out of there. Just wish the one who's moved outside would get over herself and come back indoors properly.0

Just thought I would update. I had a little more bleeding this afternoon which I didn't really want. But had my mw appointment and she listened for the heartbeat and found it immediately
it sounded good and strong. She was absolutely horrified at the way the hospital treated me and couldn't believe I got sent away. She said even if the doctor didn't feel confident trying to find a heartbeat she should have got someone else to do it,even a midwife or something, rather than sending me off still so worried. I don't know if I have mentioned but I have a stupid system where my midwives are completely unconnected from the hospital where I will give birth and go for scans etc as I live in one county but the nearest hospital is in the next county. Anyway she said that I would never have been sent away from her hospital as they have ultrasound in the EPU (whereas my hospital does not and has to send you to their imagine dept) and if I get more bleeding or are worried over the weekend I could, turn up at her hospital and just lie and say I had been visiting family in the area or something. I will bear it in mind anyway.
Feel much better having heard the heartbeat though probably will still worry a bit until, the scan on Tuesday. I have told work I won't be in until later next week so I can just rest.
Thanks again for the kind wishes etc0 -
Hope you are feeling better after the reassurance of the midwife and hearing the heartbeat Daisie. I hope that the feeding stops soon/has stopped and you can get peace of mind again. Defo do as she advised and go to the other hospital if you need further treatment. Kinda makes you wonder what your hospital would do if you turned up in the middle of the night in labour....send you away to come back in the morning! Pfft. They need a talking to.....

Daisyegg So glad you got to hear the HB, an amazing sound isn't! Your midwife sounds good and at least you have the option to go to the other hospital if you need to.
Where I live is a similar situation with the midwife. My midwife is from a different hospital from where I will get giving birth. I can't work it out as she is from a hospital in a different county and further away so it's a silly system here too. She's nice though so I don't mind too much.
My doppler arrived today...I am addicted!0 -
Daisyegg I'm so pleased you heard the HB. I'll be thinking of you until Tuesday and hope and pray it's nothing for concern xxx0

I couldn't just read and run so sorry to hear about what you've been going through daisiegg.
I went through a very similar situation at 12 weeks but I have to say I am surprised at them leaving you so late for a resurrance scan. A+E were useless for me too but I was lucky they transferred me to the EPU (their are 2 different hospitals here) who were brilliant. They got me scan the next day. I can't believe your EPU doesn't have an ultrasound, the least they could have done was put a doppler on you for the heartbeat they sell them to use at home so they can't be that hard to use.
Just a thought has anyone checked your blood group? Your situation was so similar to mine that I wondered if yours was the same problem.
I am a negative type (A-) so need an injection if I bleed. Turns out my body was trying to fight the pregnancy. The epu found this out at 12 weeks and touch wood everything has been ok since I had the shot of anti-D. I still need another one at 28 weeks, maybe 34 weeks and after the birth.0 -

And did she mention anything about a tens machine/pool birth? i.e. are the same options open to us as normal NHSers?
Don't want a homebirth, so its good they don't try to push it.
I've seen those lazy daisy classes advertised, do you mind saying where it is and how much it costs? Have you seen the free mamafit classes? They look great but are all in work time so I
x
I didn't ask about classes at the womens tbh as it really stresses me out going there. If I can avoid it at all I'd rather go to classes elsewhere! Know the hypnobirthing one is with one-to-one. Didn't even think of the antenatal classes though! As far as i know you can still have exactly the same nhs birth that you'd have if you stayed with nhs mw but double check with them. Think you can only have 2 in birth room so you could take your oh and 1-2-1 mw in with you if you wanted a permanent mw present?
I looked at the mamafit classes but like you they're all during work hours and they all seem to be in the north of the city so not really all that convenient for me! I'll pm you the lazy daisy deets...0 -
Daisy-whack a complaint in! If we can find hb on a doppler how the hell can't a dr?!? I hope that everything settles down for you and Tuesday comes quickly! If you are rh neg (you should've found out by now from booking in) call the decent epu and double check as lie plantpot said you may need anti-d and it needs to be given within 72 hours of bleed.0
