I notice mine more when I am sat or laid down and it seems to go on throughout the day intermittently, but I don't always notice when I'm up on my feet at work.
I've been feeling this little squirmer since 10 weeks! The kicks are definitely stronger now that baby is bigger, and it can really stop you in your tracks, especially when they use your bladder as a trampoline.
Mine still has no set pattern of movements, and my midwife said that often they won't have a definite set pattern, because even when they are asleep they will twitch and kick. What matters is that you pay attention and learn how your baby moves. If there's anything different suddenly, go get checked out.
I love being pregnant, but honestly, I am looking forward to not having to take a ranitidine, tums, AND gaviscon to get rid of heartburn! :rotfl:0 -
I've got definite belly shaking kicks now at 22 weeks and I have an anterior placenta so its cushioned.didn't really feel much until this week and yesterday when I was drinking a very cold drink bubs gave me a good hard smack so don't think she likes it lol have started working out Mat leave dates but where I work they seem to make it so awkward! I'm planning on going off around 30th march and our hol year starts 1st April so I've gotta sit and work out what I would accrue over the 39 weeks down to the hour and then add that onto the end so I don't have to take any unpaid leave. Which is fine but oh has now added into the mix that he might like to split the maternity so I go back earlier and he has time off with the baby so now we've gotta go for a meeting with our line managers (we both work at the same place) to find out where we'd stand on me going back full time for 8 weeks while he's off and then dropping back to part time after when he goes back and he doesn't even no if he'll definitely want to! 3 weeks left to sort it out and get all forms etc in plus got the wedding to finish off within the same time frame! Hope everything is well with everyone xxxDebt free finally :j

Hello Everyone
Sorry I haven't updated on the scan but it all went really well and I'm having a Girl! I already have a boy so I am over the moon. I made no secret of the fact that I really wanted a girl so it's a good job really. I know the important thing is that the baby is healthy but I couldn't help but hope I was having a girl.
MissyMoo - I work in a school too - I am a non teaching CPLO and pastoral manager so no lesson planning etc but I already had my request for PT hours turned down before I was even pregnant because if the pastoral/safeguarding element of my job the continuity for the students was deemed too important for me to job share so I dont know what I'll do when I come back to work DS1 will have started school so wont have to pay childcare double but I dont drive so logistically it'll be a nightmare.
Ringtobe - I am consultant led for this pregnancy too due to emergency C-section in last one and have to make a decision between VBAC and planned cesarean and have NO IDEA what to do :-(
Princess Kate My friend is a nurse at a hospital and her new ward wouldn't allow her to have fixed days either. The nursery we both send our children to were very flexible and allowed her to change her days and she let them know when she got her rota every 3 weeks or whatever. She's now on secondment with permanent nights and outs her DD in nursery on the day after the night shift and picks her up when she wakes up. It works well for her but you do have to find a flexible nursery.
I haven't read all the posts upto date but saw 2 from Aunty Pickle asking if the scan had gone okay and thought I'd better reply pronto.
Love to everyone xx0 -
Glad all was ok with your scan & lovely you're having just what you want! What I'll be working when I go back to work ideally bothering me, my husband says not to worry but it's not that simple. Might have a look around for flexable nurseries but as my husband doesn't drive it needs to be accessible for him to drop off & pick up if I am working nights or long days. Not sure all these things will come together as easily as that!0

aw georgie, so glad your scan went well and hooray for a girl!!! I'll update the list later.
Hope everyone is not feeling too overwhelmed working out maternity leave! Can't believe I will get my MatB1 form on Thursday so we need to be making some decisions! I think we have found a really nice nursery (forward planning!) nearby which is based on a farm. They appear to have a really good ethos and I've just had a lovely letter from them after I made some enquiries. Hopefully when we go and look round we'll like it!
Re: Movements. At the moment everything still feels a bit vague and random. Hoping that at some stage things will become more obvious! (I'm sure I'll wish they won't be so obvious once I'm being kicked in the ribs all the time!)
We have our repeat scan on Wednesday morning to (hopefully) get the rest of the measurements as little pickle wasn't behaving last time!Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0 -
I'm also keen on a nursery based on a farm, but think we might head down the childminder route. It's just so expensive for two babies at once!0

so, I just had a call with the results from my Harmony testing (non invasive Downs syndrome screening) & all is good
:D:D but as the test is a DNA based test you also get the babies sex. Despite being absolutely convinced I'm team pink apparently I was wrong !
Looks like I need to get sorting through the bags and bags of pink clothes that I've been saving from DD1 and find some neutral ones or get shopping
Very very happy that everything is alright though as i've been waiting for 2 weeks with these results.
Hope everyone else is OK and had a great weekend.0 -
oh janed I'm so pleased the results were good! Ooh, and team blue!!! Congratulations!
Pington, yes, I guess twins kind of alters a lot of expectations about how you will manage things!!!Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0
