I purchased quite a few mat clothes from Bon Prix. They were/are having a sale on and as a first time cust I also received free delivery and 20% off. Bought in a few sizes as you just don't know right! So will be sending some back however the clothes are well made as far as I can see.

I have received great care so far from midwives and consultants (been in and out of hospital a fair bit). Only one early pregnancy sonographer was quite horrible. Complaining loudly about the baby moving around so much, tilting me back so far my head was nearly on the ground and then complaining her arm hurt - was pushing so hard into my stomach I nearly threw up... sure if you have to do this to find the beat no problems but could have done without the complaining and rudeness. She also was talking to me with her back turned whilst she walked out the door (I thought she was talking to someone else) and the trainee midwife looked embarrassed and pretty much ran out of the room.. odd! I am normally a person who would speak up, because of a scare I just sat there frozen :-(

Doing ok. I'm not posting much as nothing is going on, and all I can do now is complain of being annoyed and frustrated at home. I'm working again tomorrow (from home) and as always I find working from home is just as stressful as being at work if not moreso.

I've got someone coming in to clean and tidy the garden on Tuesday which will allow me to use it more in the sunshine. At the moment it's too messy and untidy for me to be able to relax, and I'm sure a few hours scrubbing the paving stones is not on my list of allowed activities!

Got a scan on Wednesday, so just a little countdown to then. Wednesday is also 24 weeks so an important milestone.

I've updated my blog for those that are interested. Note that I've only told you lot the sex of the baby, so no mention of that if you want to comment!

    Evening all,

Hope you have had good days. Took oh out for lunch for Father's Day which was nice.

I succumbed today and dug out the maternity clothes as not many trousers fitting so must be getting a bump! Forgot how comfy the maternity jeans are!

Daisie - glad you had a good time at mothercare and yay fir ordering pushchair. So exciting !

Teaandcake - hope you have recovered from yesterday.

Mrsc - good luck with the rest of your travelling.

    Welcome view!

Ail oops - hope you manage an early night tonight.

Tia - I think online is the way forward with maternity wear. I am quite lucky I work off Oxford street which is about the only place I seem to find decent ranges .

Time2deal - hope scan goes well Wednesday.
  • :hello: view! Lovely to meet you. We like talking on here and there is a mix of people who were straightforward but also plenty of people who can understand personally a struggle to conceive. We don't have anyone official updating the list as the nature of it means we are always moving on! Afraid it might be buried a far way back now...

With regards to mat pay I am sorting mine out now. For my job (and many others) you need to get your matB1 form to your HR department BEFORE 25 weeks. They should ahve a maternity policy and I would contact your HR department. Lady I spoke to was lovely and no-one has turned a hair at me carrying over 9 days. Everyone's work is very different. You should not lose out on holiday allowance i.e. you should accrue the same you get as if you are working. With regards to the matB1 form I got in a bit of a tizzy but actually when I rang up the GP surgery they immediately offered to ask the mw to sign it off that afternoon and DH collected a few days later when suited us without a problem.

Daisy Egg for me too! :rotfl:

t2d - good luck with scan. They always stress me out.

Thanks for the bump comments all. Feels like this and the movements were the bits I was waiting for. Next door neighbour (don't know him) said 'ere you're up the spout innit? Know who the dad is yet?!' Was with DH at the time and we politely laughed. Wally.

alioops - I hear you on the hayfever side of things. It sounds trival in a way but it can make me feel much wrose than cold and sneezing when pg is not fun for me! Pain and leaking (ah, tmi!)

tia - all mine has been online/secondhand. None of the shops in my town had any mat sections :(

freebiequeenie - glad to hear you are feeling better. Hope the roast was good? We had a BBQ at my dad's - nom nom nom.

Also feeling smug as we put 6 pictures up on the wall and put all our books onto shelves! We've been in since Feb but all these jobs have just been put off day after day...

When my husband told our next door neighbour that I am pregnant he said 'do you know who did it?' Hilarious...

The 'Daisy egg' thing is ironic as I have a severe egg allergy and just touching egg would kill me!:rotfl: somewhat inappropriate name for me!
